  1. Curse you, now I need to make another alt!! And no, not familiar with Elfquest, just a nickname from my gaming group that's stuck with me for the last 20-odd years.
  2. I've seen that done with numpad binds, but not macros. Would you be willing to share? 🙂
  3. I don't reuse exact primary/secondary combos within an AT... BUT if I find I quite enjoy one or the other, I'll reuse them but paired differently (e.g. I'm up to 3 Shield/x tankers now, and working on 2 each Rad/x and Bio/x Tankers). I will sometimes use the same sets across different ATs, but again only if I found I enjoyed using it the first time and want to try it out somewhere else (e.g. I've got at least one Elec Affinity char in each AT that supports that set, and working on Dark Melee on both a Tanker and a Scrapper (each with different armour sets)). I've got two characters with exactly the same costume (plus a third with a palette-swapped copy), and a few others who run palette-swaps for name/theme reasons, but for the most part I try to make unique looks. That said, I do find myself coming back to the same costume pieces often, which I'm working on branching away from.
  4. From a flavour perspective it's great. Mechanically and actually, not so much. Which sucks because the more I play the set, the more I enjoy it.
  5. Not Posi 1, but yesterday I joined a speed Posi 2 and we finished that in just over 12 minutes.
  6. And who could forget this lovable cartoon action hero??
  7. I've got a lot, but I'm quite a fan of this one.
  8. It's a little counter-intuitive, but basically when looking at rolls, you're hoping to roll less than the chance to hit number. The higher the chance, the more rolls are likely to be less than, therefore more likelihood of hitting. Simply, for this case it means that any roll from 0.01 to 95.00 would hit. In your example, the roll was greater than that value, so it missed.
  9. (repeating a comment I made in a thread that went nowhere) It'd be nice - for solo play only - for the chain powers to be coded to auto-target GS (if it's out) as part of their activation, instead of having to spend extra time selecting GS before the powers can be used. I've experienced wildly differing behaviour from GS+chains in varying circumstances, so having this as standard behaviour - again, only when solo - would benefit that experience. (Since I made my original post a couple days ago, I discovered that GS can in fact be selected and used as a go-between, but given its targeting is random and has no shiny orange brackets to ID its target, this is unreliable and awkward. I still can't replicate the team-based "have an enemy targeted and chain power still works" effect while solo - there seems to be no way, when solo, to use a chain power without first manually selecting GS.) I would also agree with the suggestions of making GS perma, provided that doesn't change the existing recharge time. It doesn't happen often, but sometimes you get on a Posi2 with no alpha absorbing toons, and GS does a remarkable job of soaking those nasty alphas every 2-3 spawns.
  10. My $0.02 (Canadian, so maybe half that for my US friends 🙂 ) I would say that Kin is better at high levels, Elec is better for low. By extension, then, based on an entirely too limited amount of time, I'd argue that Kin supports teams that are generally optimized, while Elec is better at patching up teams that don't quite have it all together. As a late blooming set, Kin is OK early (Speed Boost at 12/20 is what people want), but aside from that doesn't really bring much to the table til it goes godmode post-32/38 with Fulcrum Shift online (maybe 26/35 for Transference, but FS is the big payoff here). Elec, on the other hand, seems like it gets all its really good tools early (Faraday at 8/16 being the big one) at the expense of a endgame spike power, and so is in a better position to support teams from way early on, and a generally smooth ride throughout.
  11. I'll add a second vote for Pistols. Only mid-20s with mine but it feels good. I'm taking Experimentation>Speed of Sound, so eventually I can use the Jaunt sub-power to TP into the middle of mobs, Hail > Faraday > Rain. Strongly considering whichever of the darkity-dark themed epics has Soul Drain for more buffs.
  12. Didn't find anything on this in a quick search through Suggestions, but I didn't go back through all the beta threads, so apologies if this has a discussion already... Suggestion first: Can there be some kind of coding in the chain powers, to the effect that if the player is solo and has Galvanic Sentinel out, that GS be targeted as part of the power activation, instead of requiring either a separate click or a bind/macro? Alternative suggestion: Make it so GS actually targets mobs, so it can be selected as a target and the player still be able to attack enemies (basically the same as targeting through the tank/MM pet/hami spotter). Backstory: I rolled up a Pistols/ElA corruptor, and tonight took him on his first real solo adventure (L21, Montague's arc). Long story short, the initial C'idion encounter was the first in countless runs where I've had a hospital trip, because of the extra time and click required to target my GS in order to use a heal (which obviously I did not time correctly). I thought I read somewhere that clicking the heal was sposed to auto-target GS if there were no allies around, but that didn't happen even after attempting to switch enemy targets first (which for the record has worked for me on teams - I'll have an enemy targeted, quickly tab to another enemy, and can still hit the heal/buff and it will go to a teammate anyway, I presume one that has the enemy targeted). In that same vein, I tried selecting GS and then targeting through it, but it doesn't seem to actually target enemies when it's zapping them, so I could not attack through it. I freely concede that I might just be bad. But as a quality of life thing, can this be accomplished to make it slightly less clicky / time-delayed to apply self-heals and buffs?
  13. (apologies for the recent glut of posts, I just found this sub and want to share!) Dunno if this guy belongs in a "best" thread, but anyway, here's what happens when an elephant and a flying ant stumble into a rift opening on Pandemonium and get struck by lightning... (Demons/ElAff MM) HELLEPHANT
  14. Repurposed a costume design made for a board member, added some asymmetry, and boom. A little Shock and Awesome for your day.
  15. You're welcome. If nothing else I hope there's an idea or two in there that inspires you!
  16. You make some good points, thanks @Hjarki. And yeah, after only going through 4 DFB runs I'm seeing a big push to play in close, both for the bubble and to take advantage of chaining circuits off the melee folks (at least how I played it!) which lends itself to PBAOE territory.
  17. Just hopping on the new set bandwagon, haven't followed any of the beta testing. Couple quick Qs if I may: Based on this, aside from thematic choice is Elec/Elec not really viable? As in, this set really doesn't do much to elevate Elec Blast? If that's the case, are there any sets that Elec Aff does work particularly well with? Is it worth it to slot the Guassian's and/or Rectified procs?
  18. Just had this pop into my head, totally not at all inspired/ripped off from the asymmetrical feature update 🙂 comp2.costume
  19. Trying to get all those colours in is awkward... I kinda totally cheated on the green 🙂 comp.costume
  20. Prolly different from your original mental picture, but this feels like it captures the essence of what you're looking for. radrad.costume
  21. Here's a simple one to start you off. hype.costume
  22. So thanks to your suggestions, and between existing and new heroes, I think I can spread this project across all servers: Everlasting - lots of existing (2nd build) options here: Earth/Storm Controller, Time/Ice Defender, Ill/Rad Controller, Kin/Dark Defender Excelsior - (NEW!) holding off for the new patch so I can make an Elec/x Defender - seems like it gets some good tools by 18 Indomitable - (NEW!) Arachnos Soldier leaderbean Reunion - (NEW!) Plant/Thorns Dominator Torchbearer - (2nd build) Elec/Dark Controller
  23. Great thoughts and suggestions, thanks! I'm giving myself two different cracks at this idea (mainly because I got the name Taskforce on two different shards). Lots to consider but at least I've got a little bit of focus now. (As an aside, this has also helped me realize that I have some dudes already built that could fill this role on other shards, notably Earth/Storm and Elec/Dark trollers, plus more tanks than I can shake a stick at. Might be time to invest in second builds and low-level enhancements for those!) I like the idea of a Dominator, thinking either Plant/ or Mind/, with /Thorns secondary for -def on the attacks. Off-the-wall thought: Soldier of Arachnos running double-stacked leadership toggles and a tray full of blues.
  24. This is one of my absolute favourites. Yes, he's a grav troller 🙂
  25. Pretty happy with how this guy turned out, both from a look and play perspective!
