  1. Misfortune Radiation Emission / Dark Blast Defender
  2. Trademarked Martial Arts / Willpower Scrapper
  3. Velvet Crush Darkness Control / Force Field Controller I used Spectrum pieces for everything below the next to see if I could make it work with a mask showing skin. The purples blended pretty well.
  4. Irresistible Super Strength / Invulnerability Brute
  5. I was just goofing around with ideas when this one came to me: The Perfect Match Fire / Fire Blaster
  6. The Paw Savage Melee / Super Reflexes Stalker
  7. The Pizza Man Gravity Control / Martial Assault Dominator
  8. No, I'm afraid not.
  9. First off, some of us would be satisfied with even just the one want animation. I don't envision us all wanting to be Harry Potter wizards. Personally, for me, I'd be happy with the idea that my character is pointing the wand device at a target and letting the magic of the wand "do the work" of knowing how to make the target react. And yes, I'd also love to see and use applied to control sets.... as well as mixed into dominator Assault and blaster Manipulation sets. Honestly, I'd even like to see the wands pop up in some of the weapon melee sets. Let me pummel people with the Blackstaff in the war Mace Set... or swing a pair of them in Dual Blades and say it's the magic that's cutting, not the staff itself. While we're at it, why can't I clunk people over the head with a Nemesis Staff in War Mace and/or Staff Fighting? And can we finally say that the Ghost Slaying Axe really is not so special that it can't be proliferated into the Battle Axe power set so I can look like I'm swinging the same axe when I'm switching between the battle axe attacks and the Ghost Slaying Axe temp power? "Why isn't it always doing extra damage to undead, then?" Oh, good point... maybe because it needs to recharge between attacks or willed (use that attack specifically) to cause the bonus damage. More options, basically. Yup. New animations are probably a deal breaker, so work with what we have. And it's a fact that emanation points can be moved with the alternate animations... and there plenty of animations that could be used with the wand in hand that could be alternates. You absolutely would not need such an animation for those kinds of powers. That would be your preference, and I get that, but it is not a necessity. Honestly, every single power could be the basic wand point & shoot and it would work fine, although people like you would probably find it boring. But not everyone thinks the same way. Personally, I would be happy to see the basic animation used and get the idea out there... and then work on additional options later by putting in other animations as alternates for power customization.
  10. What are the effects of the crash? Is it just a -20% Defense? Because I also seem to recall a brief period of having no damage output. Is there also an Endurance penalty? Does the power need to have that much penalty to balance it when using Rage brings the damage performance in line with the other sets? Also, I know it's a two minute bonus, but is the bonus equal to the damage and to hit bonus of Build Up? Or does Build Up get bigger bonuses for a brief time with a quicker recharge? I mean, I would rather the set's base damage was brought up to be in line with everything else and switch Rage to a Build Up effect than suffer so much penalty to have my attacks perform on par with other sets.
  11. Anyone want to give me a hand redesigning a look for Cold Cuts, my Dual Blades / Ice Armor Scrapper?

  13. I definitely think we could use some more temp costume options at Halloween, including signature characters. I don't think getting any of the signature characters powers would fit with the idea of the costume temp powers. They're basically dress up to go trick or treating, not to become those characters. But there definitely needs to be more female costume representation among the costumes available. Right now, we have one female only costume (Knives of Artemis) and a handful of costumes that are of the same sex your character is (Coralax, Crey Agent, Paragon Protector, Vahzilok). Here are some ideas that could be added to the randomly awarded ones when trick or treating: Longbow Agent (male/female) Hero Corps Agent (male/female) Cabal (female only) Red Cap (male only) Fir Bolg (no gender?) Shivan (definitely no gender) Vampire (non-Council version) Zombie (male/female) Freakshow (there's a temp power in a mission where you have to infiltrate the gang and just have some Freakshow stuff overlayed on your character model) Cimeroran (male soldier / female Sybils from ITF rescue mission) And in addition to these, make signature hero & villain temp power costumes available as craftable temp powers at the appropriate Halloween contacts. At the very least, Statesman, Lord Recluse, and Back Alley Brawler (they have Halloween costumes represented in the game lore as shown by finding pieces in the form of Halloween salvage). If a Hamidon overlay could be added to a character, then yes a Hamidon costume as well... but obviously not a full size Hamidon running around.
  14. Apparently, you see it twice. 😀
  15. Slime aura for that dripping with goo effect. Additionally, when the next update (issue 27) goes live, you will be able to customize your stance between Normal, Ninja, and Beast so that you can always be in that hunched over Beast Run stance without actually having to have that toggle turned on and draining precious Endurance.
  16. Max Cleavage Battle Axe / Super Reflexes Scrapper She's only got the two costumes, but I mix it up with a variety of axes in each.
  17. Okay... **deep breath** With the player note system, you can keep track of the [insert name you like here] by rating the player and/or adding a note about them. In the real world, names aren't unique. The government identifies us by social security numbers (in the U.S., anyhow). And in the comics, even the most popular names can turn up on a number of people. Spider-Man? Which one, Peter Parker, Myles Morales, Miguel O'Hara, Ben Reilly... I'm sure there've been others. Superman? Not even taking alternate reality versions (which can also be a thing in COH with Primal Earth and Praetoria) into account, if someone asks if you like Superman, you can still legitimately ask, "Which one?" Names aren't and shouldn't be unique. A name exchange is a great idea, and there are threads in the shard appropriate forum sections with just that kind of idea. Unfortunately, it does not help if someone has walked away from the game for awhile or may never return. Unique globals with non-unique character names is the best way to go, if only it could be worked out. And how many Captain Marvels have there been? Let's see... Billy Batson (Fawcett/DC Comics prior to giving up and just calling the character by his magic word of Shazam... which is actually the name of the wizard who grants his powers) Roger Winkle (MF Enterprises, an independent comic company... so many ripped off ideas jammed into this character) Mar-Vell (Marvel Comics... swooped in and grabbed the name after DC sued Fawcett Comics into closing down Shazam... but before DC bought the character and started publishing it themselves) Monica Rambeau (Marvel Comics, later renamed a number of times to account for the next guy kept taking her names) Genis-Vell (Marvel Comics, Mar-Vell's son who was first introduced as Legacy) Phyla-Vell (Marvel Comics, Genis's sister... who went on to become Quasar) Noh-Varr (Marvel Comics, another Kree, unrelated to the Vell family) Khn'nr (Marvel Comics, a skrull that had been brainwashed into believing that it was actually the original Mar-Vell who had seemingly come back from the dead) Carol Danvers (Marvel Comics, because everyone figured she finally earned a promotion and it was about time a woman got to be Captain Marvel... conveniently forgetting about Monica) That's 9 Captain Marvels. Not very unique. Even in the world of trademarked characters, trademarks expire and unique names fall into Public Domain. The system proposed by the Homecoming team with more time as levels go up is quite fair. And I'm going to outright disagree with you on the no exemptions for 50s. Your second point: If the name is as integral as you claim, put in a little extra time and get to level 6 for a 3-month period of safety... or level 21 for a whole year. If someone has a hundred level 1's sitting and all of their names are that integral, that person might have a unique problem. I would, however, suggest that it's their problem and thus they should have to log in and show some activity to maintain them. It's a choice you make. Your third point: An option to sort by days offline and/or level would be great. I would love to see that, too. Your last point: Nothing is to keep someone from taking a character name if you haven't played it within the allotted time of the suggested name purge by level. That's the whole point... if you snooze, you lose... because it's not up to the Homecoming team or anyone else to keep track of what you play and when to determine if you've been busy with other characters or base building or just standing around RPing in Pocket D with other characters... or not playing them because you've been away from the game for awhile and may not be coming back. The name purge suggested works for individual characters by level and how many days since they were last used because it would be easier than trying to ascertain play habits and have someone make judgement calls about whether or not a character might be used again any time soon. But it's a heck of a lot more fair than judging by activity on the account as a whole, because one person could feasibly hoard 5000 character names (1000 on each server) and just play one character exclusively and just often enough to keep them all on lockdown. Yup. I have done this with a character twice now. Started on Torch and traded with someone on Excelsior because we both expected to play on the respective shards... and then found ourselves gravitating back to where we started because of where our friends were playing, so we traded back. It was all very amicable and easy, and my Halloween Girl is happily pursuing her incarnate levels on TB now. Thanks 'other Halloween Girl' player! I'm guilty, too. I picked up a couple of names on TB in anticipation of Issue 27 having Sonic Manipulation for blasters, and I won't be using the names until I27 goes Live. Bragged, boasted, or maybe even arrogantly laughed about... it happens. Sometimes players are jerks. Or maybe they're being protective because they have the name on a character they play regularly on one shard and jealously guard the name from being used by anyone else on any other shards. Who knows, it might even be because they swap the character between shards from time to time and want to ensure they have the name available where they're heading to... as well as making sure they'll have it on the previous server when they want to go back again. The name purge would make it harder for people to hold on to those that are being held on to to maintain the same name on different shards for shard hopping. But if they want to put in the effort to show a minimum activity on those name mules every 30 days, that'll be on them. And therein lies the true difficulty... resources like time and manpower to overhaul something like the unique name system could be cost-prohibitive and even if accomplished there will still be people who will complain about it.
  18. Cool. Drinkin' bourbon, readin' up on cool character names.
  19. Hi. How are ya? 😎
  20. I'm thankful you didn't snag Bump while you were at it. She's part of my duo, Bump & Grind. Stone armor, check. Ice melee, check. Character name: Stone Cold Killer. CHECK! I have a size shifter named Big Girl. She starts at 5 ft tall, drinks her science potion, and ka-blamo! 8' ft tall Will/SS tanker. I have a Rad/Rad corruptor named Melanoma. Blonde Joke would also be good. I know it's available on TB... but for how long?
  21. Here's another, sadder option. Step 1. Come up with great character idea. Step 2. Flesh out the concept as I select power sets and create costume Steo 3. Check name availability. Step 4. Check availability of all synonyms that would fit my concept after finding out my perfect name is already taken. Step 5. Give up. Accept that without the name choice I wanted, the character will be less enjoyable. Step 6. Move on. Go back to playing one of my other characters, or in a fit of depression, avoid the game for a week or two. Sometimes it's easier to jump straight from Step 1 to Step 6.
  22. Numerically assigned list, I gather. So if you pick a costume piece, then whenever your character is rendered the game engine goes to load piece # for location X... and adding something in the middle of the list will change the number of everything further down the list. I get that. But shouldn't there be a way to change the order of the displayed items without changing their values?
  23. Two possible explanations: 1. There used to be proper trains but they are outdated by all the high tech stuff in Paragon City and are no longer in service anywhere near the city... so the sign (and many others like it) were taken to the scrap yard and found there by this guy (and a number of other individuals possessing the same weapon of choice). 2. He had it specially constructed to suit his particular theme.
