Way to put things back on the rails. 😎

Captain America would be Captain America no matter what. His personal morals wouldn't change if he were were developed as a Civil War era character, for example, just some of the details of his background. He would still be the champion of personal liberty and fight to liberate slaves even though it was legal to own them in the South. If he were developed five hundred years earlier, he wouldn't be Captain America since America doesn't exist, but if they were making an alternate reality version in an earlier time then he would still be a heroic champion and not just some soldier who killed at the command of his superiors. For example, if he were created in a reality where knights and monsters roamed a fantasy European landscape, he'd be Captain Avalon and still fight for the same kind of beliefs but they would have been shaped through different events. Ethics change with society and time. If Captain America were the ethical hero, he'd return slaves in the civil war era. If he were a knight, he'd blindly obey his king over his own moral beliefs if he were ordered to kill someone. Ethics are defined by by time and place as much as morals do, but ethics define characters by the rules whereas morals can be shaped by many factors (including ethics), but are unique to the individual. I can't subscribe to your idea of ethics vs morals making Captain America the guy who would return slaves to their owners. I see ethics and morals pretty much the opposite of the way you do.

If anyone has been reading the House of X aftermath of the X-Men, there's been some changes to the status quo. Without getting into details, death is no longer a thing. Mutants have set up their own nation on Krakoa and bribed and/or extorted diplomatic immunity in a hundred countries. And they seem content to exploit that diplomatic immunity to do whatever they want, including the exclusion of mutants from being judged by human laws, even when the mutant in question was a criminal before the immunity was granted and commits capital offenses after the fact. (Sabretooth) Apocalypse and other villainous mutants brought into the ruling council of the mutant nation. All past sins and rivalries forgiven. They are bringing back dead mutants all the time, and this allows any that previously lost their powers thanks to the Scarlet Witch's "No more mutants" edict to regain their powers. However, those that remained alive without their powers have to face a brutal death in combat with Apocalypse before being granted this benefit. They are rescuing mutants worldwide from situations where they are oppressed, but they also insist on taking mutants from non-oppressed scenarios. X-Men vs Fantastic Four has Xavier, Magneto, and other X-Men showing up at the FF's home and insisting that they be allowed to take Franklin Richards with them because he belongs with his people, even though there has NEVER been any evidence that Franklin has suffered any of the stereotypical mutant oppression. In fact, the only mutants who really seem to suffer that oppression are the ones who are criminals or join the X-Men or are side characters to be rescued by the X-Men in their book. Beast never seemed to suffer this when he was an active member of the Avengers back in the old days. Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver (when they were still considered mutants) only ever seemed to have to deal with that when there was a mutant-related plot to push. The X-Men representatives suggested that the FF are making Franklin a target by keeping him with his family, but people have been killed for being associated with the X-Men, even after losing their powers... so let's put him on an island filled with almost all the mutants in the world where any anti-mutant angst would be directed. I'm sure there's other stuff, as well, but I lost interest in the direction the mutant titles have been going and now am only hearing about incidents second hand. They don't seem like heroes anymore, and Magneto's statements about being above humans (and even other superhumans like the Fantastic Four), as well as outright stating that mutants are the new gods of the world combined with Xavier's own change in outlook to embrace being "better" than humanity just makes these comics and the former heroes seem less heroic. They're more like a political statement, and not a good one.

I'm sure it would be too much effort to combine the club shirt that has it's own category into another category, but could we maybe see some crossover on sleeves? The Jackets category has sleeves that look like or actually are shirt sleeves and could be matched up with the club shirt. Likewise, those somewhat poofy club Shirt sleeves could be added to the jackets category. And since I'm on the topic, that stupid club shirt has it's own category when the developers really should have added it to the existing Shirts category for the female model... but since they didn't, maybe we could also see sleeves crossover there as well? And one more nitpick while I'm on the whole shirts & jackets thing... the Jackets category has 2 dress shirts... one with a tie and one without. The one without a tie can be selected as both the "jacket" option itself or as the chest option for under the jacket. However, this shirt is not available as a Tights option like the main dress shirt is. Could we add it there, too? Having it only in Jackets means that there are a number of glove and chest detail options that it cannot be combined with.

That piece really NEEDS to be added as a helmet option. However, there are plenty of Lost that do not have that so your statement would be inaccurate. While they're working on it, the Lost fleshy hook hand should really be added as a Gloves option, also. If we can have a pirate hook, why not a mutated hook?

Another way to fill in the gap left by the Martial Arts robe and the Hood would be to use the Vampire Frilled Ascot chest detail. This...

Might I recommend skipping the baggy top and going to Robes? Choose Tattered Martial Arts robe with both colors the same, and Long Tattered sleeves (and select a chest that fills in the slight gap below the hood). Combine this with the Tied gloves option for an additional rags kind of feel. Then add Post Apocalyptic 1 shoulders for the half-tire shoulder pads. Next, choose Baggy for pants and either Long Tattered or Shredded option, and Resistance boots to finish the look. Color tweak as needed.

Captain America FOR slavery? I'm sorry, but your reasoning of the situation may make sense to you but I simply cannot see the character being developed that way under any circumstances. Captain America is a guy who embodies the ideals of liberty for everyone, not the laws of the land at the time. It's why the man behind the mask was separated from the name a couple of times, because he's not a government stooge who follows the law of the country he represents. He stands with the law when it benefits others, but will challenge it when it oppresses people --as was evidenced with Marvel's first Civil War when he opposed government registration of superhumans because it would restrict personal freedoms. Ethics, as I understand it, refers to right and wrong as determined by rules (or laws) of a group. Morals would be the individual's personal sense of right and wrong, whether those beliefs are formed from religion, ethical concerns, or just personal experiences. Steve Rogers grew up as the scrawny kid who wanted to help others and when it came to war, wanted to do his part to help others despite being physically ill-equipped to do so. To suggest that he would be different if developed in a different period is basically saying "if he were a different character he would be a different character,"

Focused Feedback: Costume Editor Updates (Build 4)

Other ideas to consider for the future: split arms from chest so you can select different patterns to create new looks. split sleeves on shirts, jackets, and trench coats in case someone wants to go for a torn off sleeve look or just mismatched. split legs so that each can be selected individually to create asymmetrical tights. split gloves even further at the wrist and forearms to create new glove styles. split boots at the ankle the same way as gloves. split face detail to allow layering one texture over another for new mask styles and / or two-tone masks. split wings to allow one of each of different styles... half-angel and half demon, anyone? Winged cyborg with one mechanical wing, maybe? Do a split on melee weapons with one choice being the weapon and the other being an aura placed on the weapon. -

I did say "yet." I anticipated they would be forthcoming. -

Looks like the Spectrum gloves and boots are not in the split features yet. -
Updated the look for my storm brute, Cloudbreak, with some armor... and visited the test server to combine the Thunderhead aura with the Rainbow path aura.
-
Strumpet Thugs / Kinetics Mastermind A descendant of Civil War Gen. Joseph Hooker... fighting crime in her own unique way, by rallying her own troops.

While I was working on alt costumes, I finally decided on a more battle-worthy costume for Cloudbreak, my storm tank (Electric / Bio Brute). Thunderhead aura is tricky to screenshot.

Combat Jumping and Hover provide a defense bonus. Hover actually has more maneuverability control than Flight. Removing travel suppression from the main travel powers would not give them defensive ability.

Well, thank you for that definitive answer on behalf of the HC team and everyone else without any explanation behind it.
-
That's the best thing I've ever seen.

Could we maybe lose the reduction to travel powers in combat? Is jousting really an issue anymore?

Maybe have vet levels grant some kind of credits that can be used to buy special stuff that can also be earned in game in other ways. XP toward another character by delivering a 1-use temp power to the account (picked up via email). Hard time getting people together for a certain trial that you need for a badge? How about a list of hard to get badges that can be bought this way? Choice of a Hami-O, purple IO, or PVP IO. Temp powers that can either be crafted or earned by completing missions. And for something new: Access to a list of additional choices for titles. I'm sure other options can be thought up, as well.

Fine tributes! Great stuff, guys.

With a little work, Hero 1 could work. There is tech in the game that changes environment depending on the lead player (in teams, or just each solo individual) and their accomplishments. Such as the first mission for Matthew Habashy, where you have to go put down some Hellions and then when you return to that spot Hellions are under control by the police. When you finish out the extended arc, his wife will be standing next to him next to City Hall. Maybe have... whoever... standing in the Ms. Liberty spot in AP, and all of the Hero 1 references work fine... but once the player completes a task force or whatever to help restore Hero 1, the old trainer disappears for that player and is replaced by Hero 1.

Optimus Prime is a robot. Robots can be repaired and reactivated. Superman's resurrection just proved how much of a lame shock value tactic death is for main characters. Despite what the plans were, we all knew Superman wouldn't stay dead, so it meant that his death completely lacked meaning, as did the huge battle leading up to it. It was completely dismissable among comic book stories.
-
Again, I would just like to restate that I don't have a hatred for the character nor is my original suggestion anything to do with the developer. I see the character as having been killed off and bringing him back would make me hate him for being just another lame death cheater. And I'm not suggesting getting rid of Ms. Liberty, just that she should get some help instead of holding down 3 jobs by herself.
