  1. That's actually one of the instances I might want such an ability. Sometimes I like to practice the ski runs with no powers or only specific powers. Of course, they're usually unpopulated, so that's not really a problem. Hostile attitude aside, I can understand the OP's desire for a tool to prevent incoming buffs, whether for testing power numbers or just because I want to limit unintended visual effects on a costume. I wouldn't mind seeing a toggle power sold through START that accomplishes this. Personally I'd love to have one for each, one toggle to prevent the numbers, another to prevent the graphics. I usually have no problem with random buffs, but more often might want to not be layered in bubbles visually 😛 Beyond that however, I agree with others that this is a public game where you coexist with other people and you need to be ok with that. Other people buffing strangers isn't an assault, and if that's a point you have a problem with, there's probably more enjoyable games out there.
  2. There is a small problem there. Being an altoholic is already more of an inf sink than you ever need. 6-8 million at the START vendor on every new character, maybe a billion or more by the time they're purpled out and +5'd. The people who need an inf sink probably focus more on just a few characters and wouldn't benefit significantly from Global badge access.
  3. I'd say just make it a whole new set. Then you can incorporate the other animations for eyeblasts (or sonic attacks in some cases). You can either go the cut/paste route and just make it a performance twin of Beam Rifle for simplicity, or mix it up a little and tinker with numbers and damage types if you want something a little different from what else is there. A lot more work, but more justified to those who don't believe the cosmetic difference is "enough"
  4. I would sacrifice (temporarily) my access to attack powers to be able to do this (Only affecting Self or whatever, like Rest).
  5. I'm partially in favor here. First off, don't "eliminate" the badges, but just give people who qualify access to both. (I have many heroes who would rock the "Soldier" badge as well, given the opportunity, so not just day job badges). They can display what suits their character, if either. Furthermore, I would like to see access t some of these badges made available regardless of red/blue side... so put a Crey office in Paragon somewhere, allow blueside ships (and subs) to qualify for Smuggler, and longbow helicopters to qualify for Pilot (another badge many bluesiders should really have access to). Be kinda nice of other airplanes gave access to Pilot also, like on the airstrip in Cap... Does the runway in Neutropolis have planes? They could use it too. The displayed aspect of a badge is just another cosmetic piece, like a costume piece, and thereby should not be limited by faction.
  6. I definitely prefer the idea of Dispersion Bubble over Damping. Also, what I'd love to see for the boost range effect is a combination of passive and click, where just having it gives you a minor boost (like maybe half an IO) and then clicking it gives significant range increase for a short time (comparable to Aim for duration/cooldown)
  7. While I wouldn't have a problem with this, as it adds thematic options, I would prefer for its powers not to share the exact names as comparable support powers (it would complicate some of my keybinds). That said, I think it would be easier to achieve the thematic effect by just going with another defense set, but getting Force Field visual effects made available to us as auras.
  8. As long as they can do it without making it yet another chore for Null the Gull. That birdbrain is already overworked. If that had to be the case, it would be better to skip the option and just remove it.
  9. I can't wait for my characters to be able to play Guardians of Praetoria Online after it gets out of closed beta 😛
  10. Love all of that, but especially this. I have a flamethrower character that I settle for AR with. I've (mostly) stopped lamenting being unable to get a full flamethrower set, because most people are like "We just use the Fire set, duh!" 😞
  11. I don't remember the precise numbers at the moment, but 640 or so on Torch, maybe 80-something on Victory, and a couple dozen on Excelsior (and 1-5 on others). Very few, relatively speaking, are "abandoned" and those are generally something I wanted to try a build and didn't like it for a character, but got it high enough I don't want to outright delete in case I get a new alt idea that build works better for (free name changes and easy costume changes after all). I mean, it only took a couple days just doing logins to finish up, it's not a catastrophic way to spend time a few times a year. I still wish it was a little smoother though.
  12. that would be frikkin amazing.
  13. That's a good idea. I might need to revisit some of mine and see if that's better. That guy needs a wheat stalk to chew on...
  14. I've barely managed not-great overalls with one of the victorian vests... I'd really like an Overalls top as a sleeveless jacket or chest detail.
  15. I would be thrilled if we could just start with giving (almost) every attack in Radiation Blast an eye beam option 🙂
  16. While I would occasionally want a longer field for my name (and yeah, more than 1 special character would be even better!), I think most of what I want such things for could be more safely accomplished if I could create my own custom title as needed (without having to make a SG just for that purpose... though with the ability to enter and base via keybind, I use my SG for this sort of thing more and more often). Having access to a comma would be nice too. "Graum-Radpunk Shaman" would work much better as "Graum,Radpunk Shaman" even if I couldn't do "Graum, Radpunk Shaman" ... though what would REALLY be awesome is "Graum, ☢Radpunk Shaman☢"
  17. I never even care about the absorb aspect of Sentinel SR, I'm just so stoked to have my status protection attached to my toggles. That would please me greatly with SR/Ninja/Shield in other ATs.
  18. I would enjoy if this game had the mechanical means to define a character as something other than "human" like a robot, undead, extra-terrestrial, or extra-dimensional being (demon/angel/etc) with some moderate (neither game changing nor insignificant) advantages and disadvantages for each. This is kinda what a character's "origin" should have been, rather than vendor enhancement flavoring.
  19. I kinda wish Empathy was more AoE toggles.
  20. There are definitely improvements it would be nice to see. For instance: a "Show Actual Level" setting for team and league windows, showing what someone's functional level is (not SK'd or trained) without having to open it info screen on everone who is below 50. I'm definitely in favor of the League Leader being able to promote a new Team Leader on a different team (assuming that team is not locked of course... shouldn't be able to tinker with locked teams). Being able to see the zone a selected character is in if they're in a different zone instead of just "not in range" I'd love to see League Leaders get a temp power automatically that works like Incandescence, but across all zones (give it a 5 minute cooldown, and start on cooldown as soon as a leader is promoted to league lead, just to keep it from being used over and over by changing leaders) A character's faction alignment should automatically match their Team Leader and League Leader's at all times, so we can stop getting folks booted on a trip to Orouboros. (Just let Praetorians travel out as freely as everyone else can travel in already)
  21. I'm in favor of new event styles, sure. However, the Mapserver Event should never be done away with. It's one of the most social events in the game. For everyone who goes afk, there's a couple of us chatting up a storm, even easier than in Halloween ToT leagues because the event requires minimal combat attention. Obviously, everyone *could* just sit around and chat in any open space with minimal combat attention, but lets face it, they don't. On the other hand, there's plenty of ways to get lots of XP really fast, like fire farms or PI teams... Fire farms have the potential to be pretty social, because they often don't require everyone take an active part, but in limiting to an 8 person team, it cuts the potential a few combined teams gives. PI teams have even less social potential because it really helps if folks contribute, and sitting at the entrance is boring. Still just 8 people too. Frankly, I'd like to see more long term invasion events split evenly across the year. That balance of getting XP/Inf and having a lot of folks to talk to is some of the best fun this game has outside the character creator.
  22. I especially dislike the strobe effect those rotors cover my 65" LED screen with. It's not usually enough to trigger a seizure, but it's always unpleasant.
  23. So many alts to log in... I wish login badges were global. Or at least "get them on 10 characters, they're unlocked on all the rest"
  24. Kinda moot now anyway. change was baked in over a decade ago...
  25. "Generate .gif" clicky button on a costume in the costume editor (with an additional option to occasionally use a specific power or emote), which then creates a locally saved .gif of your character, in that costume, slowly rotating, and if chosen, occasionally performing a power/emote animation. I'd also push for a @Global storage system that would collect and store any items yo can mail to yourself (Inf, merits, etc) from all characters when first implemented, and become the default storage for all such items from then on. Maximum capacity would get bumped up by a factor of 10, maybe 100. Items/inf could still be emailed to specific characters for storage if desired. Increase the maximum number of characters in a keybind/macro. or... Create an /alias command that would create new (local system specific) custom game commands making use of one or more existing commands. (It's basically just another format of making macros, except their executed as a powexec instead of clicking a button on the tray, and they're saved locally and available across all alts/accounts by default. Also would allow creating shorter commands for some things, like for instance /Leadership "powexectoggleon Tactical Training: Leadership$$powexectoggleon Tactical Training: Maneuvers$$powexectoggleon Tactical Training: Assault$$powexectoggleon Tactics$$powexectoggleon Maneuvers$$powexectoggleon Assault") Make /powexecauto <powername> ignore gray'd out powers like /powexecname <powername> does Add a /powexecauto variation for trays/slots and location powers
