I'd personally love it as i have a few masterminds with a theme that differs some what from the minion sets they use, for instance a Mercs MM that is part of a high-tech UN Taskforce.....it looks a little odd to have them summon normal tier troops as opposed to similarly high-tech troops.

I periodically necro this topic either on old subjects or starting a new one.... along with "can we have the animations from Demons MM made into a whip set" and "can we have a firearms Power Pool thing so our sword scrappers can have a shotgun or revolver too?"

This is definitely a feature I'd want. Even if it's just a few different presets.

Especially for Beast Mastery. It just feels REALY weird to me to have a bunch of lions in a pack of wolves.

My preference is not a customization per se, but a change to improve "quality of game" for all players versus just MMs. Reduce the size of all MM minions to "man size" or less.

So Demons and Robotics would see the biggest change. Same models and animations, but progressively smaller for the bottom two tiers. Besides, mini mercs and ninjas would be so cute, right?!?  😉

The bottom line is that many maps barely accommodate a full team of 8. Let alone adding +6 bodies ever time a MM joins. It can be like driving an econobox behind a Mack truck.

image.png.c8fa6d4756710a313c3ffe8b5309d433.png    Wow!   I can see again...  😉

I would be.... severely.... displeased if my crew of ninjas or soliders were reduced to fire imp size.

Make it an OPTION, and I'm okay with that.

Inflict it upon me against my will and I'll be vocally unhappy.

My two cents are that henchman customization would be great, but perhaps can be accomplished through recolors and a few different model options rather than full character-level customization, especially since some of the sets don't use standard "human" models anyway. That would allow MMs to apply some level of creative control over their pets' appearance, without opening the door to the worst possible abuses.

Full on character creation wouldn't be any more open to abuse and report than character creation already is, to be honest. It's the complexity involved that would concern me. The more complex such customization would get, the more difficult this would be to implement.

But, I'd like:

Female options for Thugs, Ninjas, and Soldiers... option to have it random for female only, male only, or random

Alternate minion sets for all

Necromancy - Zombies(Current)/Spirits/... vampires???

Ninja - Ninjas(Current)/Acrobats/Robin-Hood esque Bandits

Mercenaries - Base(Current)/Sci-Fi/Vintage(Victorian/Civil War/etc)

Thugs - Gangs(Current)/Jocks&Cheerleaders/Torches&Pitchforks

Demons - Beasts(current)/Humanoid(choice of male/female)/Elementals

Beasts - Lions, Wolves, Hyenas, Bears, etc

Robots - Drones(Current)/Humanoid(Black Magic M-66/Terminator)/multi-leg drone(Crab/Spider)

An interface similar to choosing different weapons for choosing different minion sets. Like instead of Left and Right, have Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3.

I'd still quite like Thugs costume customisation. For one reason alone...

If it was so easy to get a bunch of friends agree to do a tasteless joke like this you would be seeing it, and we are not because it's just not as simple as rolling a character and modifying a bunch of costumes. Yeah it's possible but it's not EASY that's the kicker here

considering that multi boxing is a thing one can do in this game its not that hard to organize the 'friends' in question

Ope, another necro.

But yeah, if we had at least color customization, that would be superb.

If we could have drop-down options for minions like selecting weapons, or deciding how we want to throw our Fireball, that would be sublime.

I'm a single issue player and this is it. This is the one thing I want enough to bother posting on the forums.

I've wanted customization of human pets since I first started playing. MM is my favorite class.

As they are now, the pets tend to clash with 90% of what I can think of for MM designs/concepts. I have 3 MMs where I designed their costumes around the pets and it's an unhappy compromise that makes me feel stifled even when I pull it off.

I really would just rather have full control of how they look, full stop. Not just colors, not presets, full control. To the point that I'd be playing on TS if it had a substantial playerbase at all, much less an RP community.

If there's a concern about how it will be used, we have moderation tools for people who abuse the creative license they're given--the same tools used for people that post slurs or other rancid behavior. It's not like MM is a wildly popular class either--at most I see, like, 3 at RWZ raids and I'm often the only one at a hami. So this idea that people are just waiting for their big chance to flood the streets with offensive garbage is a little wild to me.

Anyway, that's my two cents. I'd really, really, really, really like this as a feature, even if it's just for human pets.

is this even possible?  has it been done on other servers?  does it work...well....if done there?

i always understood MMs were janky as hell behind the curtain...

There was an entire discussion on another thread about it. Yes, another server has custom pets. You give up a costume slot per pet you want to customize. The devs have already said they will not follow that other server and instead will find their own method of doing so. (Edit again: And I'm not a fan of giving up costume slots for my characters. I tend to use a lot of different costumes for my characters depending on what I am doing and what time of year it is.)

(Edit: As for how well it works over there? I have no clue. To the best of my knowledge, that server is less than reliable to play after everything they have done to it.)

Although I think it would be unfair to give only some MMs customization, and I suspect this is part of what's holding up customization.  Need to dole out at least a little customization to all MMs or folks will feel left out.

I'd love to see at least Praetorian heroes have Clockwork robotic pets. Fits the theme, they are already in existence, and each tiered pet is already made.

TS doesn't make you give up a costume slot for it at present, to my knowledge. This is a screenshot of my MM there with the costume tab open.

But that's kind of a moot point. To my understanding, HC won't and possibly even can't, for legal reasons, implement it in the same way that TS did. And that's fine. It doesn't have to be done in exactly the same way. I'd just like to have the feature available on a server with players! Pretty please with sprinkles and a cherry on top.

On this subject, I've always thought it would be neat if the Mastermind had the option of summoning existing NPC groups, like the Skulls or Council, or what have you.
