Human only PB help?

Recommended Posts

To start...I havent played this toon in months and only remember I like surviving and staying mostly at range.  This is the first build I have attempted entirely on my own with no help thus far so please be kind-ish 😝

She is already 50 and when I finish the D4 I am working on now I will start in on the PBs incarnates and give her a respec and enh upgrade.  Here is my mids so far, how to improve?

EDIT:  I realized at the end i hadn't taken Luminous Detonation, which I had been given specific tips for slotting, but when I viewed the Power Graphs window it shows that is a low DMA power and so I opted for Gleaming Bolt there at the end where it can benefit from just 2 slots rather than the more slots needed for the other one.

I would advise you to reconsider luminous det, its an large aoe that can hit 16 targets in a 15' radius but you'll have to free up some slots first. Solar flare and Dawnstrike alone is a little light on the aoe, that's where luminous comes in. Also Dawnstrike's slotted recharge could be a lot higher. I would suggest the following slotting for those powers:

Solar flare: 3 piece Superior Essence Transfer (acc/dmg, dmg/end/rch, acc/dmg/end/rch, overwhelming force KB->KD, force feedback and fury of the gladiator chance for -res.
Dawn Strike: 5 piece armageddon, sudden acceleration  KB->KD.

Lightform could have a little more recharge, it's about 15 seconds off perma. FF going off relying will close that gap a bit but it's probably easier just to enhance it better. Franken slot if you have to.
Drop 1 end redux from assault if you plan on running it. The other option would be drop assault entirely for vengeance and slot a 5th 7.5% global recharge LOTG there.

Quantum acceleration doesn't need more than the base slot, with a 7.5% global recharge LOTG in its place. This power isn't used in combat as it will put you under 'affecting self only' so slotting it for more defense is kind of pointless. That will give 5 slots right there for luminous det.

Also, when you're viewing your power tooltips, I would very much suggest clicking inner light off. Currently Gaussian's BU proc is inflating your damage a fair bit. Glinting eye and gleaming blast could both use more enhancement slots. Also if you're trying to use Ruin for psi resistance, there are better io's for that. Use impervium armor 6% psi resist. You can slot 1 into any resistance power up to a max of 5.

Also restore essence doesn't require any more slotting past the base slot. Put preventative medicine absorb proc there.

Also drop the 2 extra lotg pieces from combat flight, the base defense and end are so low, they're not really worth slotting, even for the paltry set bonuses.

Okay @Doomrider thank you again for all your input....I think something clicked when I did something this time I got it to perma-light form.  But...I lose a lot of defense.....but gain a lot of resist.....I don't really know which is best.

I made a couple changes since you had you were capped on 10% recharge bonuses. Remember they cap at 5 per type of bonus (ex. in this case 10% recharge bonuses).
I didn't want to change too much in the build powerwise since it is your build after all, I just changed the order of the powers a bit. You're going to want Gleaming blast much sooner so you can have it in your ST chain.
The endurance recovery is not ideal, not but terrible. I would probably take a slot from elsewhere put 1 end mod into stamina.

Light form will give you some added recovery and you'll be using this while playing any content L34-ish and higher. While using this, leave the other shields off to help conserved endurance.

Having some defense, in this case around 20% to everything is not a bad way to go. Resistance (aside from psi) is plentiful already in the powerset, might as well build some defense. Some people sacrifice a lot in their build to achieve higher defense than this but I don't really think it's worth it. Another approach you could take is trying to build specifically for s/l and melee defense. I like hitting 32.5 s/l/melee if possible so you can soft cap defenses with 1 small purple insp. This is less of a concern though if you team a lot since defense granting powers are quite common while teaming.

For some reason the builds you're turning out seem to be resulting in corrupted build links.

So, I'll post my current PB build.

This is a "ripped from the screen" build, not an actual build plan.

Okay, I have found that I can build super bulky defense in, but have to compromise on number of attacks, damage output and general resists.  I can build great resists but compromise defense  as well as the damage output.  I can build to maximize damage but will take a beating on defenses and resists.  Recharge can be worked into almost all of the above options but regardless of the option picked, endurance suffers a bit by being only okay and not terrific.

I think I am learning a lot from this process and really appreciate everyone's help in getting my brain wrapped around all this! I have quite a few 50s that I'm revisiting, giving them a respec and sets while they build their incarnate powers.  Don't be surprised if you see me periodically posting wild and crazy builds that make you go hmmm.  😄

Additionally, the problem with building towering Defense is that you have NO DDR.
So all that Defense is completely sacrificial.
It's like building a Fire/Elec/Rad Tank with tons of Defense and ignoring Resist.
Sure, you CAN.  But when that Defense "goes away" (and it WILL), you'll left with your butt flapping in the breeze and inferior Resists.

Here's my Human PB build. It's built for speed and attack with perma Light Form. You don't need any shields and all res are maxxed out bar psi which is at 50%. When the endurance crash happens you simply hit Conserve Power. If things do get hairy, which has only ever happened to me soloing +4/8 ITF, you pop quantum acceleration and your defenses rise to around 30%. Coupled with light form, you can stand back and watch.

Your two heals are more than enough to keep you alive when exemped below Light Form range.

The final four powers can be taken in your preferred order.

TECHNICALLY, you're not "perma" Light Form.
If you turn off all the Force Feedback procs, you're at 153.8% recharge.
Light Form comes up in 90.47

PRACTICALLY, you're "perma".

But, every now and again, you're going to have a tiny window where your Resists are going to crash, leaving you vulnerable.

Pardon I know I am abit late to the chatter box here but I myself enjoy a human form PB, and am often surprised by how few appreciate their full power. I wont get into the whole build but I basically eschew all the dmg res toggles and rely entirely on perma light form. I dont do too much low end exemping with the toon, but thats fine as his rp concept is almost entirely aimed at the rikti.

I actually use the sorcery pool for run of protection for the 20-38 gap, its free break free effect keeps it as always a handy oh shit button. And yeah I even took its flight, just for the pretty runes.

See the thing about a PB is that def is really just not needed. I mean build some in, it wont be hard but its not gonna be a priority. A PB is basically the best of Invulnerable, with extra healing, and a tier 9 that can be kept up all the time. With a dull pain like power that can basically always be timed to be used right after a light form crash to both heal and keep your health upped, and a 2nd heal click with a very low cool down for extra spot healing, and light form getting you to 85% res in just about everything that matters You should be feeling confident rushing into just about any horde,

Then there is your offense, You get a nuke, and you get a melee super punch. Also a build up like power with a duration that with a strong global recharge set theme will be overlapping for a nice bit of extra oomph.  Really if a double build up nuke isnt killing off everything but the boss, and knocking them on their arse so you can casual hover over and finish them with a single punch, then you must be pushing above your pay grade a fair bit.

Finally keep in mind khelds really shine on teams, if your gonna solo a lot it really is going to feel abit sub par. Now a full team of things like defenders and corruptors who passively boost your dmg, and often buff it further, well when your the spear point for such a team you feel like Superman.

I vote going fire/energy blaster and coloring everything Kheldlike.  human form attacks are much much weaker than nova form attacks on top of nova form having a 45% dmg buff, another 9% from the kheld ato.

laser beam eyes is usable from nova form and it hits harder than incan strike

nova blast hits harder than radiant strike

human form damage is just sad.  but if style is what you are going for i cant stop ya.

One thing I tried and found worked well was supplementing the melee attacks with the Fighting pool (the two Force Feedback procs are nice). Peacebringers don't quite get the same benefits from being in the middle of combat that Warshades get, but they have a respectable amount of PBAoE so you really can just hang out in the middle of the fight.

I'm also inclined to say you don't need to use KB-KD converters as long as you're moderately sensible. Peacebringers do have a lowish baseline damage, which means you get good returns on damage procs.

Ignore the haterz. Peacebringers work better in practice than on paper.
