I created this music mod pack in honor of the outstanding AE addition to Pocket D and it's two "Daft Punk" inspired DJs rocking the tunes there. This is a client-side mod package that replaces the standard music of the D with some Daft Punk tunes and remixes.

Download here:

http://www.mediafire.com/download/68vpdw4b7z8e8lr/Daft_Punk_Pocket_D.zip

Instructions:

Unzip the folder and paste the "Data" folder directly into your City of Heroes Beta Client folder.

Don't worry about overwriting an existing Data folder you already have. Just merge it. There's a file structure there, but nothing in there except the music.

And that's it. Next - fire up the game, wander into the D and see what you think of the new ambiance!

"Change the scheme! Alter the mood! Electrify the boys and girls if you would be SO kind!"

If you want a preview of the tracks used before you download and install this mod, take a listen at the following finely crafted links:

Well this hits a bit differently now, doesn't it? 😔 (Note for future reference - Daft Punk just broke up.)
Well - we'll always have the songs they did create. The Beatles themselves had less than 10 years as a group and look at that legacy!
I may make another version of this mix soon that's not as directly tied to the Tron movie.

In any case - in addition to the link above - this mod is now a part of The City of Heroes Modder utility as outlined here in this post:

So you can just download that tool and the Daft Punk mix is listed and useable from there as well!

This is an awesome mod set!

Question: does anyone have the file names/locations for the music in the Monkey Fight Club and the Tiki Bar?

AE ARC's (So Far!)

15252 Child of the Tsoo - [SFMA] Ninjas, sorcerers, and human trafficking (Origin Story - Stick Figure/Storm Lotus)

50769 Hunt of the Eclipse - [SFMA] Finding something that was lost to Arachnos for nearly 20 years (Origin Story - Daisy Chain)

This mod has very strangely taken over my Pocket D music, and I don't mean that in a good way.

I've installed it on two different computers, and despite repeated attempts at uninstalling it, replacing it with other mods that change the music, or outright deleting the .ogg files... it's still always Daft Punk.

I'd forgotten about it for years since when I first had this issue I just turned the game's music off and played something else in the background over it. Pandora, Video Essays, etc. Totally forgot about the Pocket D music issue.

I was trying out sgbase music and when I stepped back into Pocket D, the rush of Daft Punk reminded me that this mod somehow permanently altered my install. On two different computers.

It's really weird, actually. I don't think I've had that happen with any other audio mod.

I'd put money on you having an old version of this installed from the previous tool in your data directory.

I wouldn't take the bet because I totally agree but I can't find how to clear it short of a full uninstall/clean reinstall.

It is probably installed in your data directory. I don't have access to the game directory structure at the moment but I would guess it is somewhere in:

<CoH Root Folder>\data\sound\

and potentially in:

<CoH Root Folder>\data\sound\Ogg\

According the to HC wiki music page, the files are likely named:

PocketD_NewRave<number>_loop.ogg

where <number> is a single digit. If you see any files matching that description in your data folder you can try moving or deleting them and then restart the client to see if the music reverts to the stock music.

I had a chance to download the mod from the City Modder site and took a peek inside the pigg. These are the files within the mod, and they should be found the locations specified:

<CoH Root Folder>\data\sound\Ogg\music\Rave_AE_loop.ogg
<CoH Root Folder>\data\sound\Ogg\Music_Source\Rave\ExtendedRave_loop.ogg
<CoH Root Folder>\data\sound\Ogg\Music_Source\Rave\NewRave1_loop.ogg
<CoH Root Folder>\data\sound\Ogg\Music_Source\Rave\NewRave2_loop.ogg
<CoH Root Folder>\data\sound\Ogg\Music_Source\Rave\NewRave3_loop.ogg
<CoH Root Folder>\data\sound\Ogg\Music_Source\Rave\NewRave4_loop.ogg
<CoH Root Folder>\data\sound\Ogg\Music_Source\Rave\NewRave5_loop.ogg
<CoH Root Folder>\data\sound\Ogg\Music_Source\Rave\NewRave6_loop.ogg

Removing/deleting those should get things back to normal.
