Plant/thorns dominator, named Mesothorny and fire/fire tank named Disco Inferno.  Not my most creative moments but I can't help but smile when I play them.  I need to set up a macro to rise of the phoenix that shouts "They said Disco is dead!  They were wrong!".  I have to chant "burn baby burn" every time I hit burn, it's terrible.  🙂

My latest is "Catastrophe".  She's a Claws/Energy Aura brute.

 

Catastrophe was discovered in the wreckage of an Arachnos lab after a spectacularly destructive accident.

 

Her bio in-game is as follows:

Summary:

What even is this?  Aside from the aura of entropy that seems to surround her, and the feline features, there is very little we are able to determine about the subject.  She calls herself Catastrophe, and seems almost unaware of the obvious pun.  She claims not to know any other name, or who she was or where she came from, other than the wrecked lab where we found her.

 

From her demeanor, she seems to regard the world - and her own existence, even - with near-total apathy, and yet... she acts.  Not with any purpose that we are able to discern as of yet, but she is rarely idle for long. When she chooses a direction, she can pursue it with intense focus... and yet she may abruptly change that direction for seemingly no reason.

 

Caution is advised.

 

Catastrophe is pretty much a force of nature.  The one thing anyone unfortunate enough to cross her path can tell you is that, just as she claims, she is Catastrophe.

 

She is also, of course, a catgirl.  Because the pun was inevitable.

 

Actually, her entire character concept arose as follows while messing around in the character creator because I wanted a Claws/EA brute:

 

"Greyscale catgirl.  Energy Aura.  Entropy powers?  Catastrophe!"

This just reminds me that I wanted to make a character with as much KB as possible (for solo play, of course; I wouldn't inflict this idea on a team.   I mean, I'm pro-knockback, but the build I have planned for this particular character will not be team-friendly!), whose battle cry was "For great justice, take off to the Zig!".  And then I was deeply disappointed to discover that doesn't fit in the battle cry space.

 

I may still create that concept and find a way to put that in a macro or something.

I hadn't decided on a name yet, but I'll have to consider that one.  The idea was inspired by someone else mentioning "Captain Knockback" in a forum post way back when, but I didn't want to directly reference the game mechanic.  And until I came up with the battle cry, I wasn't quite motivated enough to do it.

 

I'm also trying to decide, with that battle cry, if the name needs to reference Zero Wing somehow.

ETA: I rolled this character specifically to spam "Gather for Inertial Reduction" during the instanced MSRs that were once done on Indom.  He also had 7 or 8 keybinds to tell the story of how he sacrificed both legs to give everyone else the ability to jump, or some shit like that.

Back on live, I had a Soldier of Arachnos who was Recluse's shiftless nephew.  He had the spider backpack to look like his uncle and was named Lord Footloose.
