Diantane
A rad/anything. You tell people not to kill the debuff “anchor” and its like putting a target on it. It’s the first thing they kill. Then the team wipes and they say that there weren’t enough heals. Sure, there was a change in the game that the debuff stays on the corpse, but it doesn’t move to other enemy groups so it’s not perfect. The reason the radiation heal is so weak is because it’s rarely needed. My defender is rad/elec. All I want to do is play on teams until I’m 30. Then I will solo. You put the Tesla cage and debuffs on a guy and kill them at your leisure. The only attacks I have are the top tier ones. When I play a defender I “play” a defender (not a weak blaster). Only train defender powers until later. Edited October 2, 2021 by Diantane
Uun
Play Trick Arrow. No anchors. 6 minutes ago, Diantane said: The only attacks I have are the top tier ones. You're not slotting powers from your secondary? Even if you take all the powers from your primary, there are 7 power picks before lvl 30 that have to come from your secondary or a pool. Radiation Emission doesn't require a lot of slots and several of the powers don't need more than the base slot. Uuniverse
Doomguide2005
I suspect it means he'll need a Respec at 30 or 31 as Mutation and Fallout are, at best, mule powers on a solo Rad/Elec and he took all his primary by 30th. And he'll be needing to slot enhance and use those weak defender blasts or die lots ... and lots.
Psyonico
This is the same person who believes "dedicated" ATs are better than people who take and use their secondary. 1 1 What this team needs is more Defenders

If it really bothers you how fast your anchor is being defeated, try using it on an edge minion rather than a boss or Lt. Besides, I rarely had to use my anchor debuffs on average spawns. I tended to concentrate more on Lingering Radiation first followed by using my attacks followed by healing if needed on average spawns. With some teams and spawns the anchor powers would be priorities of course, it depended on my judgement. I'd dole out Accelerate Metabolism when and where it was needed, although it was almost always on cooldown. This idea that 'if I play a defender' nonsense was covered extensively in your other thread. This isn't WoW. Slot your attacks. Use your attacks.
Nemu
I think some of these toggle debuffs like RI, spore cloud and darkest night are due for an animation speed up. That can contribute to the feel bad when the anchor gets killed. 4 Liberty, Torchbearer, Excelsior, Everlasting Jezebel Delias Level 50 Fire/Elec/Mace Blaster I am the Inner Circle! Without_Pause
I realized I teamed with the OP. All I'll say is they mean well. Like REALLY REALLY well, but sometimes doing so also rubs people the wrong way. I watched a team dissolve after what I felt was an odd comment at the end of a mission. They do advertise teams in a great way though as they do actual arcs. Considering they have a thread on being a dedicated AT, I'm not really sure what "Only train your defender powers until later" really means. I assume they mean your attacks, and well, no need to beat that dead horse. FYI, even on live RI didn't move to the next mob unless the anchor was still alive, and well, good luck finding a group willing to drag the anchor around a map considering putting it on a boss was the ideal situation back then. I had a Rad/sonic on live. RI animation time made it situational back then on the right teams. On level 50 team these days, its animation time really isn't all that ideal. I still think Rad is one of the best sets for support. 2 Top 10 Most Fun 50s. 1. Without Mercy: Claws/ea Scrapper. 2. Outsmart: Fort 3. Sneakers: Stj/ea Stalker. 4. Carnifax
It's better than it used to be when they cut off when the target died in fairness. Who knew that sticking a big swirly effect on an enemy would automatically make the Scrappers murder it. It's not their fault; it's how they are wired. 7 My level 50 builds [Bullitt Time : DP/Kin Corruptor] [Carnifax : Ill/Dark Controller] [Kerriae : Plant/Storm Controller] [Echinoderm : Bio/Spines Tank] [Iron Brew : Mace/Rad Brute] [Snookered : Staff/NRG Brute] [iScream : Ice/Ice Scrapper] [Binman : Savage/Shield Stalker] [Modul-8 : Time/Sonic Defender] [Concussion Blast : Fire/NRG Domi] [Orblivion : Dark/Martial Domi] [Mombie : Necro/Nature MM] [Tempore : Water/Time Blaster] [Thermodynamic Flux : Ice/Fire Blaster] [Carni's Online CombatLog Parser Alpha]

Fond memories and yeah, getting people not to kill the anchor was a chore. But loved her.
Sovera
Here I was giving the example of a Rad defender in another thread the OP made and didn't even realize how apt it was. - Simple guide for newcomers. - Money making included among other things. - Tanker Fire Armor: the Turtle, the Allrounder, the Dragon, and compilation of Fire Armor builds. - Tanker Stone Armor: beginner friendly (near) immortal Tanker for leveling/end-game and Stone Armor framework. - Brute Rad/Stone and compilation of Brute Stone Armor builds.
