Add Teleport Foe to P2V

Recommended Posts

From time to time, as we play, an attack will knock a key mob into a wall, and the team may not have sufficient PBAOE damage to kill it while in the wall, and thus the TF or mission gets stuck.

When this happens, it is possible to hope that a GM will intervene, or folks just give up and thus ends the TF.

It occurs to me, if the Pv2 vendor could sell teleport foe, then we could have a means to address the mobs tuck in the wall issue.

Hugs

Cheapening the teleport pool seems wrong but maybe if it comes with a high recharge or something.

Only way I could see it working is a TP Foe temp power (high acc and mag high enough for say an elite boss) with say a 20 minute CD so that people don't exploit it and chain use.

TP Target.  Fold Space.  PBAoEs.  Location-targeted AoEs.  Pets.  Henches.  It's statistically unlikely that no-one on the team has any of those, even at low levels, and equally unlikely that only one person has any of them.  I play solo and I still manage to deal with stuck critters rapidly and without undue stress, using the existing options.

Actually we need the PBAOE or Area teleport foe, to make sure the baddie does get moved out of thee wall...

Ah, so this isn't actually a suggestion to alleviate a problem, it's a blatant attempt to kick power creep so high, by Fold Space available without the power selection cost or slot cost, that the game shits itself to death.

So not happening.

Reading your positions, and ignoring the just plain negative "emotional"  comments, it seems that perhaps:

The devs could create a new keyboard command /stuckmob, which like for us when we get stuck in a map we can do /stuck and get moved to a valid location, the command would move a mob to a valid location.

By having such a command, there is no such power creep, etc.

Frankly, we all should being more constructive in our comments, than having some of you being just emotional which leads to no problem fixing.

The mention of power creep when it comes to teleportation and the like is certainly a bit concerning - I actually did write up a whole support powerset that does involve a lot of abilities based around repositioning enemies and allies alike in the form of Space Manipulation.

One big question in mind while I was making that was definitely asking myself how much overlap it had with the Teleportation pool; I sort of figured that it has some obvious supportive holes (mass player buffs, healing), having a little bit of overlap was fine, even if its T1 ability 1888430910_T1Displace.png.ea64d779670598dc0e78db0e925712aa.png Displace is basically Teleport Target But Better (lack of interrupt, picking where the target ends up, knocking enemies down).

I kind of liken it to the way that Medicine's Aid Other isn't really meant to be a dedicated heal, but moreso supplement characters that don't usually come with those sorts of abilities.

Basically, there's some opportunity cost involved (or at least, I was trying for an opportunity cost, still not sure if I got the balance quite right)...but needless to say, while the suggestion's well intentioned, there's probably more optimal solutions out there to help solve the issue of mobs half phasing into walls and suchlike than just granting people the power to teleport mobs for free.

Hard no to adding TP Foe to P2W.

/stuckmob would be a nice addition   Could be a check for stuckmobs within 50' and port them near player in an open spot with a nullify AOE effects in the spot it lands on.  (So, no tripmines, oilk slicks, etc...)

That being said, I've always been able to get someone out either by an AOE or just by going away for awhile

Give it the same three-IRL-day cooldown as the 'Complete this mission' option from contacts. Then it wouldn't be power creep, and it would serve only the stated bug-avoidance purpose.

If a mob is stuck, truly stuck, and not actually somewhere on the map hiding, I'll give my friendly neighborhood GM a support ticket request and they come faster than most T9 powers recharge. The GM can help with stuck mobs, and are pretty awesome at it three years in to this volunteer project I might add.

Ive called for a GM twice on stuck mobs and they must have been busy.  At 20 minutes i reset the mission after i went and cleared everything.  The second time i waited it out since it was a different kind of stuck mob that broke the mission.  After 50 minutes i got the escort mob out of wait mode and back into escort mode so i took him to the second objective and completed it.  Not that the GMs arent helpful,  just that they dont always make it in 2 minutes.

Welcome to the suggestions forum!

I think the idea would be reasonable if you were buying a one time use power. Stuckmobs happen occasionally. If you have one on hand, you can fix the problem without waiting on GMs. Maybe there's a cooldown on how often you can purchase them as Aida mentioned above. Works for me.
