Rad vs Seismic?

Hey all!

I've struggled to get into playing blasters in the past. I'm thinking about giving it another shot, and was looking at Atomic Manipulation as my secondary.

As for primary, I was kind of torn on Rad vs Seismic. Is one significantly better than the other? Is one more AOE, one more ST? Any opinions on which is better, or which would synergize well with Atomic?

Thanks!

Solely between rad blast and seismic paired with atomic, I would probably go rad blast and lean into the melee aspect of atomic hard. Seismic can be played in melee, but I feel you'll get more mileage in melee with rad blast between those sets.

That said try them both on brainstorm and see which one you like better.

I’ll also chime in and say that if you’re considering Seismic Blast, really look at pairing it with Earth Manipulation and then you’d have two Blaster combos to try out.

Seismic/Earth is one of the most fun combos I’ve played across any AT and it dishes out a ridiculous amount of damage, both AoE AND Single Target.

Ha! I actually built my character’s entire concept around the flight restriction. He believes the Earth refuses to let him go because he is banished to wander the land, and even if he jumps so high to brush heaven (hit the light box ceiling), he cannot break its hold and will inevitably fall again.

the KB from Seismic seems kinda problematic

Allow me to allay your concerns: the only power that actually knocks back is Meteor, which can be solved with an Overwhelming Force proc.

The other powers just known down, and for that it's actually a very pleasant set to level with (oh and very proc-friendly).

That said, I support going rad as the melee synergies line up well.

Well considering I suggested it, I suppose I should offer the build too eh?

Meteor doesn't need solutions. Things either die or, in the case they don't die, you're probably better off with them sent elsewhere.
