Winged Victory from Amazon Army, Torchbearer.  One of the golden gryphons, wall mounted, with small rustic countertops used to conceal undesired parts of the gryphon body.

Greco-Roman temple just got a lot easier.  This is several units of 'Garden Arch' from the Cityscape section, on a Mausoleum Huge base from Landscape, and surrounded by Ruined Pillar from Pillars.

spacer.png

A rear wall may be desired.  I stacked two 'Garden Walls' from Cityscape.  There may be a bit of overhang.  I just stuck a pillar on it.
spacer.png

Interior will display Garden Arch decorations.  You can control this to some extent by moving them closer together.  I find I don't mind the effect.  Small statues easily fit inside.

Edit: From the Amazon Army base, Torchbearer.

This is the big stone fireplace I came up with for what was originally intended to be Tavaris' space in the Sanctum base... I've since handed that space over to MirrorSoul for Ebon instead, so I don't know if it'll stay around or not... But I thought I'd add it to the thread anyway.

TavsFireplace.jpg

A bunch of Oranbegan stone bits, a piece of a wall for the back, a lit bonfire, a column, and some small bits of fence.

...And this is what I did with the workshop pavilion's crafting table. I left the computer screen, since it's been established that Kai at least has a tablet and knows how to use it. Tav and Arte? Maybe not so much. XD

Man, this thread .. it's incredible.  *jaw dropped* on all the ideas esp. all the light source tricks.

Heck, i'm just now building my 1st base ever so was just finishing @dacy videos. I had the idea last night to make the base entrance a giant Saske (American Ninja warrior) obstacle course.

Another thought is when you enter that you have a big drop into a pool of water & come up into a tropical paradise.

Of course the Torchbearer base was just too much - crazy good ..

I'm still trying to figure out the all glass wall building stuff

Thanks to everyone on this thread for starting to share what objects were used to make things along with the pictures - Nice everyone

Hey, posting a few things (will be featured in another video, heh). But:

Someone asked for a coffee maker?

coffeemaker.thumb.jpg.c7eb0caedfc6abc5c54d8fad98d7f584.jpg

Mostly items from the new Medical and Science tab. The bowl of the pot is an upside down Florence Flask #4. The black rim is a colored Petri dish, and the top of the pot are two stacked clear Petri dishes. The handle is a toilet roll dispenser from Bathrooms. It's sitting on two upside down Portable Equipments, lined up so they go far enough back. The drip funnel is a surgical light arm 3, and the overhead water basin is a Refractometer (tintable). Since this was an outside wall, I couldn't seem to go through it at ALL, so I had to use things that stayed "in bounds", so the column of the back of the coffeemaker is made of upright Portal Corp Keyboards, and the pot sits on an upside down Bunsen Burner 1. The red button is the lid to a Bottle of Vodka (room details), and the lid in which to pour the water are two upside down Chinese food boxes (shopping). The very top, as the Refractometer has no bottom, are two more Portal Corp Keyboards.

My stove:

screenshot_190918-06-25-24.thumb.jpg.377bbf6fe6a7e644478d416c821d58b3.jpg

Top, bottom, and back panels are Plasma TVs from Tech. Bottom stand of tv is covered with a 4 ft. wall panel from Bathroom. Controls on back panel is upside down and angled Praetorian Computer 1. Burners are upside down Bunsen Burners from Medical and Science, of varying sizes, yay, now I can have differently sized burners like on my stove. 🙂 Knobs are Enriche bottles, laying one way for the knob, laying the opposite way for the flange of the knob. The handle is the edge of a Large Square Wall Vent, in Wall Details. The griddle in the middle is the top of a Standing Lamp (off).

Microwave is a combat log, with the green panel covered by a bathroom wall panel.

My refrigerator

screenshot_190918-06-19-01.thumb.jpg.aa59b2dc1c4ee40641b1d5bbfd0f0794.jpg

Two up ended Operating Tables from Tech Medical, then one on each side. Baton 2 from Weapons makes up the handles, two for each handle. I used Urinal Stall Panel Divider (because it's on a wall and a longer panel would go through that wall). There are cables, but I'm tired of fighting base shift with those. Larger objects often shift less, or you can angle them to look the same (especially in a small presentation like this) after they've shifted. The top is simply matching letter I from alphabet.

Whole Kitchen: (well, dishwasher can't be seen from here)

ROMANÆ ERUNT ROMANÆ

(Romans will be Romans.  COT Flag Cross + Skeleton.  I had to place the skeleton old school with desks because attaching it as Surface made it stick out from the pole. )

Three other ways to place the skeleton:

Place on ground, shift to lift it to place, use ctrl to maneuver it where you want once it's at the right height.

Stick it with attach to surface, then change attachment to floor, grab skeleton while holding ctrl. It will reorient to the floor, ie, upright, and you can then move it to where you want it to go.

Attach to surface, use ctrl+alt or shift+alt to angle down (depending on which one was controlling that axis).

Ah, the day I discovered that I could simply hold shift to lift and lower!! Almost as good as the day I realized there was an undo, which was a game changer. Hope this made you as happy as it made me when I found out how much easier the new controls are. 🙂

Right, on the inactive logs; this was in a base where I was hiding base services in an apartment setting, so you couldn't tell it was storage, or combat logs, or the Icon NPC, etc, which was why that one was green screened, and why I included the fact that it didn't need to be, but yes, there are other ways to get a grey screen. 🙂

Oh I loooove this thread. Dat coffee maker though. I'mma steal that if you don't mind. 😋

Here's another thing I did: in-house photo studio. My character "Lion-Heart" has something of a deep dark secret 😎, and I wanted to convey that. We have so many options in the base editor now: why not build temporary sets for cool screenshots you can't get out in the world? You can squeeze quite a bit more detail out of an image and also get symbolic if you like.

Heh, I love this concept! Very nice. 🙂

Of course you can steal the coffee maker. And the fridge. And the stove.  This is why I  posted exactly what you'd need to use to make them. 🙂 I show more details in my "Kitchens!" video, in the video guide.

I'm putting this in here; this is not something I made, but rather one of the new objects that, when I saw it, I was like, how/who in the world could use THAT? Well...I did.

screenshot_191004-17-07-22.thumb.jpg.d508d4f2a2581863467a1373779af0af.jpg

This is the Hamidon husk. For scale, note the trees in back, and the base portal in the near left.  I put the (bug themed) base inside the husk. It was a bit challenging in places, as the husk has structures you have to work around  on the inside, as well, but I was really pleased with the aesthetic, overall.

Got any pieces that, when you saw them in the editor, thought, "No way, how could anyone use that?" And then you did?

nice, thanks. I made a coffeepot of my own, but I wanted one that looked a little more substantial, so:

Very pleased with myself for the handle and lid: it's a desk lamp turned upside down 😄 And the burner it sits on is a pressure bottle from the Tech tab.

One of my most unconventional, yet extremely effective, uses of an item to make something that is absolutely not that item's intended purpose: When you have a little space on the other side of a bathroom wall, you can use a few curved white counter pieces to serve as a hung-up towel!

image.png.d56494f97e6dec591a8d3c736af5bda0.png

Oh, and I also made a radiator out of lamps.

Did you ever want to label your teleporters by their original Hebrew letters? No?

Well, I figured out how to do it anyway!

Spoiler

First up is the letter Aleph.

Alef1.PNG.ed9f0221cac4fb479a264cb8d70711d5.PNG

As you can see, it starts out as the letter I and two hyphens. Just press Shift + Alt to rotate the hyphens and you've got Aleph!

Alef2.PNG.c5680d19472919709fdf863c3ddb1b28.PNG

Beth follows a similar process:

Step 1. Beis1.PNG.4b3c84735b22848da15de99ac56298ae.PNG

Step 2. Beis2.PNG.3bb1297d2bc82cace6f768b3448aa302.PNG

Gimel is an I and two hyphens (are you noticing a theme here?)

Gimmel1.PNG.63c5c7f5777b85ae982ce30109315baa.PNG

You'll never guess how to make Daleth! (Psst...it's an I and two hyphens again.)

Daled1.PNG.2c3b48e6f36c146b1df85e7abd13c738.PNG

Next up is Zayin. It's an I and only one hyphen this time.

Step 1. Zayin1.PNG.93aec589aecd39ca11350d3a77a2dae8.PNG

Step 2. Zayin2.PNG.5eb7d390c3979fa25baf3c76f51833ec.PNG

Heth is pretty simple, too.

Step 1. Ches1.PNG.fd958667451b04ad27055ad9eef4ceb4.PNG

Step 2. Ches2.PNG.b72792f52c997d4c095ec292fa445121.PNG

Yodh is also easy (but you probably already knew that if you're familiar with the Hebrew alphabet.)

Step 1. Yud1.PNG.0bd8fdcc4b744fb5467bb8f625f0694e.PNG

Step 2: Yud2.PNG.96bcb6329969927543bfadaa70cefe48.PNG

Here's Kaph:

Step 1:Kaf1.PNG.c311cf0317d1fedd46454ccbce8b9e00.PNG

Step 2:Kaf2.PNG.e873e4542f270e3fd609f6e46c5600dc.PNG

Lamedh is a bit more challenging.

Step 1: Lamed1.PNG.14d643efc265e789db7d8c9aa17c4b77.PNG

Step 2: Lamed2.PNG.66eedac00c87ae1df1e0ce4e97d9489f.PNG

I saved the toughest one for last. Are you ready for Samakh?

Samach.PNG.78e5c982050f043dd3ae4ecee68f8aea.PNG

I figured out how to write my username, too!
