Any teaser what is being worked on?

Folks check in here from time to time to see if there is anything new or in the works.

We know teams are doing things behind the scenes.. it could be nice if we had some general notice of what is being considered, debated, or retooled.

 

With many thanks, congratulations, and acknowledgement of the epic path of successes, we sheepishly ask 'what-cha-doin?'.

 

I for one enjoy even a cryptic peak behind the curtain.

 

For those not on discord discussions, an occasional summary could be nice...

I would provide a link to "How to join closed beta testing" but I can't seem to find it. (maybe it was removed)

 

Here is the overall 2024 recap and 2025 roadmap as shared January 8th

I'm 95% sure that image of Ouro was from the map for the Sister Psyche/Manticore wedding mission, so I don't think that constitutes a "teaser" anymore =P

Other than that, there's a lot of stuff being worked on, a lot of stuff being changed, a lot of wrinkles to iron out, some things that are deeply experimental and might be reverted... I wouldn't expect any big teasers for a while.

Nah, this Spring was the plan and likely still the plan.

You can't delay what was never actually scheduled...  (A target is not a schedule.)  Page releases have always been a "we get there when we get there" kinda thing.

We weren't that many ppl on Defiant I'm afraid (heck, even less after some idiot decided to grant a 2xp weekend only for the Union server). 

 

Does anyone know if her "spiritual successor" game is still going on?

Yes, I mostly remember the comics she made, using images taken in game as the panels.  They were pretty good actually, at least if you weren't involved in any other sort of drama.

 

Her "spiritual successor" game last I saw was being run by someone whose sole interest seemed to be "my scripting language that I invented solves all problems."  Things were pretty much dead, and this was over about two decades ago.

How could you not remember him/her or whatever was behind that avatar. I never had an issue with this person and loved the enthusiasm for the game. I never kept track of the successor projects but I wonder if any of those teams have asked about joining HC.

 

HC does great work but I can't say they're progressing the game in any meaningful way. I feel more staff may help but I am not excited about new issues that're coming etc after most of the stuff I've seen has been disappointing. 

 

Having said all that, please don't take it as an insult. Again, my 2 cents and I am VERY happy the game is back and kicking.
