Why on earth would you need Power Surge on a tank? Your resists should be capped to everything but Ne and Tx without it.

Enemies with -Resist like on Aeon SF would be my thought.

My understanding is that while your resistance is capped, resistance to debuff is not, so you could push to 100% and prevent any debuff getting through.

Correct. This is likely the case for an Electric Armor tank without Power Surge for everything except Ne and Tx.

Just putting in a request that old Power Surge get the mutually-exclusive treatment with its new version. Was enjoying a casual climb up on a recharge-heavy almost-only-Power-Surge scrapper build for funsies.

Maybe a compromise is to make the duration a bit longer than 30 seconds/ Maybe 45 seconds ?

If it came without a catch, sure, but I like the way this thing is tuned now and would rather not add any further downsides.

They wanna up the duration for free? Be my guest.

Power Surge really shouldn’t give resistance at all anymore. It had little value before, and the baseline res buffs made it even less useful. Tank out the last bit of res and beef up its regen buff, then it has value.

Nah, you want that extra surge of res in really stressful situations. MoG wouldn't be half of what it is now if it was just some absurd regen buff.

seconded. There should be a mutually exclusive second option for those of us that like the current option as is.

Tested these changes out on my Elec/Elec Scrapper; it’s a very nice improvement, overall. However, I feel like Power Surge still doesn’t do enough on Scrappers, Sentinels, and Stalkers; it’s very easy to cap your “big 3” resistances on this set, and the resist caps for those ATs are so low that enemies can still kill you pretty quickly, so all it can really offer you in many situations is the regen. Some debuff and movement resistance would be a good thing to add, in light of that.

MOG isn’t a good comparison because Regen by default has zero defense and low resists, which MOG plugs up temporarily. Surge of Power, on the other hand, is just giving you more of what you already have in spades by default.

Endurance Drain in general is something I want to take another look at. Once it comes up, the drain mechanics for both Electric Armor and other powersets will be adjusted.

This sounds exciting.

In the mean time could we leave it as is for these characters?

Running around KW on a kitted but not fully incarnated Elec Armor Tank and I got to spend a lot of time confused. I went through 5 breakfrees in one encounter.

I got terrorized a couple times but it wasn't as bad as the confuse.

How else do I get some Confuse status effect protection?

It makes the fights very very long solo.

I wonder what would happen on a team with Fold Space and the big AoEs I'm spamming.

I've always hated how many "unnecessary" resistances power surge added, but with the removal of the instant-death suicide crash I've realized there is an advantage to Power Surge over-capping your resistance on Stalkers, Sentinels, and Scrappers: increased resilliance against enemy -resistance.

I still wish we could get a version of the power that didn't hide the character model, since the Gremlin form hides weapons like War Mace and Battle Axe. I'd think a version that just overlayed the gremlin over the player without hiding them would still be pretty visually striking.

I've figured the best way for years to do this, simply tie the amount of damage an NPC does to the amount of current endurance they have. 100% damage at 100% endurance, and scale it down to like 50% damage or something when they're at 1 endurance (obviously zero end is zero damage but you don't want their damage going too low when it's low, obviously this would be an npc only mechanic, not affecting players)

Taking Leadership: Tactics or break frees I think are the only ways I know of if it isn't in your armor.  Always thought it'd be nice if they'd add confuse protect to the Epic pool Focused Accuracy powers too.

I'll also say again, what really needed done w as making energize in it and energy armor on a 60s recharge. Remove the regen out of power sink, but then just have it give more resistance. In some builds you're mostly capped so won't OP anything and can still be skipped, but on almost any build even tankers you can still use it to shore up your non s/l/e resistances so it still helps, but not as much since fixing energize will be doing most of the "fix" to both elec and energy armors.

Generally I'm enjoying the changes. I'd love it if Power Surge came with some added Electric damage to attacks, like Meltdown or MoG's new version, or a moderate dmg AOE explosion a la Ground Zero. The latter would be nice in Power Sink, too, making it comparable to Radiation Therapy. Feel like it'd pair well with Electric's general focus on AOE, and it'd be pretty cool to update some of the older defensive secondaries to include offensive components like the newer ones.

It comes with an EMP when it ends, which is a nice chunk of -regen to anything caught in the radius.

That's been impossible to leverage before because the crash left you with 10% hp and likely all your toggles down unless you timed Power Sink perfectly. We can actually make use of it now.

So more powers in the set are desirable but mitigation is found in pool powers and epics we may not now have room for. Got it.

Not every set is going to get confuse, fear or whatever mez protection and it's been that way along time.
