mechahamham Posted Monday at 10:15 PM Posted Monday at 10:15 PM In the real world, with handful of standout exceptions, pure metals tend to be greyish to silvery white. It's the compounds and alloys that are colorful. For example, when people make 'Blue Steel', they're usually using electrical current or heat to very carefully oxidize the outermost layer of a steel alloy object. Copper is one of those standouts. Rather than grey or white, it has that characteristic orangey-red color in its pure state. Then, when it reacts with any other chemicals, it turns that bright Statue-of-Liberty-bluish-green shade. 2

I'm pretty familiar with all of the fun colors you can make copper if you know what you're doing, have a tiny bit of chemistry knowledge, and happen to have good ventilation; but you got me wondering as to why almost every other metal appears grey except for copper and gold. Turns out it has to do with their electron structures and the science is above me. But this got me thinking, we already know where everything is on the periodic table up into the transuranic elements, and most of those aren't especially stable. Is impervium an alloy? Has it been stated that it's a pure element in lore? If it is an alloy, it could be a whole list of colors based on the information I can find with a cursory search. If it's an alloy, I'm voting for a middle toned silver with a sort of purple sheen based on the in game images. 1

Troo Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Oh geez.. Impervium is a pattern which can be any color the player chooses. I choose gold. "Homecoming is not perfect but it is still better than the alternative.. at least so far" - Unknown (Wise words Unknown!) Si vis pacem, para bellum
