So I am giving Stalkers basically a first serious go around. I think I tried a few when CoV first launched wayyyy back when but didn't 'get it' and went back to MM's. I have rolled up a Psi/Shield as I haven't really touched these two powersets even on Brutes. It seems like a decent combo. I am wondering if anyone has done the same? If so what was your build? This is a rough leveling draft I have. The Epics I just put something that looked good in there. I was in the middle of a Synapse TF when the alert went out. I had to take a break from all those kill all clockwork missions to donate. Not as much as I usually do (thanks Covid) but every little bit helps.

When it comes to Magic, does this mean anything magical like Demons, Angels, Magicians, Fantasy Creatures, Mythological Beings etc? Or if they just use the Magic Origin?

So I am starting out a new character and going to do this 100% on Redside, and more then likely solo as hardly anyone plays "Red". I am going with a Demons/Poison build as I feel it is a good "evil" build that allows for survivability. I am curious if anyone has done this before. If I could get some insight. I am trying to synergize the Demons -res with Poison's -def. I do realize Poison does do more then that, but that was the main idea for this build. He is a basic map of what I am going to take in leveling. A final min/max build will be done up later if this works as intended. But I think this is going to work in the beginning. So I got an idea for a new character some sort of sensory manipulator which made look at using either Illusion or Dark to be paired with Sonic. I am kind of leaning toward Dark as I don't have too many of them built up and I am not a huge fan of Illusion (though i do have a Ill/Traps, TA, Dark, Rad in development) I am curious if anyone has some experience with the pairing. Or should i wait and see if the new power is a Sonic Control set and maybe roll and Sonic/Dark?

This build is Chaos incarnate. Slot a KB to KD in Gale, Tornado and maybe Lightning Storm (but given how it is only single target it isn't a priority). The goal here is to keep things on their back, if they are horizontal they are not hitting your Ninjas. Because they are squishy. Throw in a Accuracy and Range IO to Gale for a wider arc and it hits more. Freezing Rain is your bread and butter, use it whenever it is up. It also knocks down enemies so it's really good. O2 Boost isn't a good heal, it's mostly there to top off your minons. Skip Snow Storm, it's useless in keeping your ninjas alive. Hurricane is ok. The To-Hit Debuff is nice, but you have to be very careful on how you use it. Don't just run into enemies unless you are solo and need the extra chaos. In teams you can use it to herd enemies into corners for AOE's to be more effective, it takes practice but it's useful. Thunderbolt isn't worth taking as it's only Mag-2 stun (good for minions only) and your pets don't have anything that stacks onto it. Also skip all Personal Attacks in the Ninja line. They are not worth the END. Smoke Bomb is situational. If you can time it's use right it's a handy DPS booster for your pets. I mostly use it either at the beginning of the fight or if a one of my minions is getting too low and needs a "disappear". I hope this helps. This was a very fun build to level, both in a team and solo.

Well if you are in a group hopefully they should be mostly dead after you jump in and hit your debuffs. If you are solo then you pop in your Venomous Gas debuffs them for your Dreadful Wail to stun them, Envenom and Weaken to really debuff them, jump out and hit them with your cones. Anything still left (bosses and up), jump back in close and use your ST attacks. But even given how VG is 15 feet, you don't have to go too far away to keep 80% of a group in your VG. And yes going 3D is also a option. I may just switch out SJ for Fly and hover. Thanks for that idea.

So a few days ago I was looking at a Trap/Sonic build. The thing that wasn't working for was the lack of mobility. So I abandoned the Traps (I use it a lot for MM's) and took a look at Cold or Poison. Both have good debuffs to fit in with what I want to do with this Hero, which is to shred as much Def and Res in a short time for mostly group play, but also solo. I think I have a decent build here and i just want to share it, in case someone else has done something like this. I Need Help Putting Together a MM for a Friday Event
Tacheyon replied to 11Troy11's topic in Mastermind
Ninjas have very low HP but a bit of defense (a BIT) so yes they are very squishy. If you want shields go Cold as that will buff their def more. I am working on one now and it's not bad. But I had more fun with my Ninja/Storm. Put a Acc, Recharge and a KB to KD IO in Gale and you can keep everyone on their backs while your ninjas dance all over them. Those would be my picks. -
I like Triage as I use it a lot on my /Traps MM's. It isn't good with burst damage, but for longer fights as a tankermind it does it's job keeping your minions topped up from all the shared damage. Plus as you said I can mule some sets on it as well. I just threw Mace PPG in there because I know it well. But I do see your point on over stacking defense. I'll revisit that at a later date.
-
So I am kind of on a lesser used combo (or what i perceive as such) and after reading a comment came up with this pairing. Basically the goal is to destroy any type of defense and/or resistance on a mob, meanwhile maxing my defense So I just sort of threw together a build (powers only) to see if I am on track with something or should I scrap and redo. Some powers I just threw on the build and wasn't thinking about placement. Please let me know what you think. Using Sonic right now and it is really nice. With 3 Cones you fill your Opportunity bar very fast, and if you use the Defensive Opp buff you do get a lot of hp back (if you need it) when you reuse those cones. But even the single target damage isn't something to sneeze at. I am having fun with mine and the -res really does help boost your damage even more.
-
It's a solid combo. One of my first 50's after playing Homecoming. It's a great control/debuff/sustain healing set. It's made for more longer fights (AV, GM) with how long it takes to get some of its key powers out. Not that you don't bring anything to short fights. You will always have a power to disrupt trash mobs to help your team out (one mob you use EQ to shake things up, the next use Stalagmites and Stone cages to keep things tight in stunned). Meanwhile you are laying down Lifegiving Spores to top off the team each fight and Spore Cloud to debuff. This is combo shines bright in a team environment more so the solo just to let you know. I would take everything except Stone Prison, Salt Crystals and Rebirth. Also stone mastery for your epic PP as not only it fits the theme but has good powers in fissure, Seismic Smash (which is a great damage plus a hold mag 4 power), Stone Armour and Earth's Embrace. This is more in regards to Martial Assault itself. So I am taking away from this that the T1 in Martial is garbage and I should just not use it period? Also, any tips on how to make Spinning Kick actually hit something? Because most of the time I think I am in range of something, I activate it and I don't hit anything.

Well I did create this when I was a bit short on sleep and hyped up on allergy medication, so my reason was questionable at best at that moment. Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I'll definitely be putting Poison Gas back into my build. And I do play a lot of Controllers (even made a Earth/TA) so sometimes I feel the need to make sure nothing moves when doing ranged builds, hence the Web Cocoon. But maybe it is a bit overkill so I'll take it out and Focused Accuracy since they changed snipe. Does this look any better? Also I wouldn't mind seeing your Def build if you don't mind. Though at this point I am not looking at IO sets right now. So last winter I started a Staff/Ice Brute with a Christmas theme. But given I was still in a my "make a new alt everyday" phase of CoH I proceeded to shelve her for my love on MM's and Controllers (not really a melee person myself). But recently as I have had a copious amount of time handed to me I have finished off those characters and turned back to her. Now as I didn't do a lot of research in Ice Armour back then, I didn't notice that Scrappers get a different T9 ability in Bastion which sounds a lot more appealing then the Brute/Tanker ability of Hibernate. I am looking for some insight on this power. Is it as good as it seems? Or maybe keeping my brute and skip Hibernate and get a extra Power from my Epic or regular Pool.

Ok, so I may have reached peak insanity. I have started a AR/TA Corruptor. My idea was using Ignite and Oil Slick in tandem to create a double fire field, because some people want to watch the world burn. Has anyone else done this? If so what was you build? This is my preliminary power pick. I may or may not switch out Web Cocoon with Focused Accuracy to try and get Sniper Shot to instant. Unless of corse that would be a waste. Plant has been a pretty good combo for me. Drops Seeds to avoid a big alpha and then go HAM with all your AOE abilites.
-
Is this the same on MM pets? Does anyone know?
-
This thread started me thinking about do up a /EA Controller. I created pretty much all combos for a MM and i wanted to see what i could do in a controlled setting. (Pun intended) At first I was thinking about Earth as that is my favorite Power. But seeing how that plus Elec/Ill and fire were all suggested I went looking elsewhere. Then I thought about Gravity. Singularity would benefit a lot from Amp Up and between it Galvanic Sent and myself would make for some good quick chains. Plus it's a more offensive powerset so maybe I can make it work. Not sure of a actual build yet. But I'll use what is here as a guide.

I am finding I have better chances of keeping most of my Zombies alive since they are all melee (well except Lich) so keeping them under the Cage is fine. But then again the T1 pets have almost no hp so keeping them alive during a alpha (especially AOE) is tough. But then again I haven't even gotten my Necro/EA to 50 yet so it's tough to decide. I feel that overall it doesn't matter too much which you pick. Demons have more damage, Necro has the control (just got Amp Up so we'll see what effect that has on Lich). Here is what I am aiming for for my Necro build. Then again I suck at builds so if anyone wants to tear it apart, be my guest. I am working on one now. I already got a demon/ea up to 50 and this pairing seems slightly better even at 35. It might have to do with a lot of -tohit that necro puts out. I am looking to get up to 38 and use Amp Up on my Lich to buff it's controls.
-
I am having a lot of fun with Electrical with my Demons. So far (only to 34) I have taken all the powers in Electric but I think I am going to drop Discharge as I don't see much of a impact. But coupled with the resistances on the demons already Faraday cage is a nice boost. Plus the heal while not super potent (again not fully IO'd), is up fast and can hit all my pets. Plus I have taken a couple of personal attacks for the -Res. Going to try and make a Zombie and Thugs character soon as well. I was going to go with Robots, but that seemed too obvious. I thought about Ninjas as well but there is not enough there to actually stop the enemies from attacking them (unlike say Storm) which is what the Ninjas need more then a damage boost or more healing.
