  1. I mean there are some of folks who don't use Null to switch alignments, and just switch characters if a friend on the opposite side needs help. That said, I'm on board with the basic idea, even if I still want alignments to exist and be distinct. But I would like to separate "Alignment" from "Where You Can Go". I'd love for there to be Redside contacts in every Blueside zone. Strategically placed around Warehouses and Back Alleys. Not next to Miss Liberty or Blue Steel. I'd love for there to be Blueside contacts in every Redsize zone. Again, with some consideration of the neighborhoods. I wouldn't object to an actual Villain being Kill-On-Sight to certain NPC's in blue zones, and I wouldn't object to an actual Hero being Kill-On-Sight to certain NPC's in red zones (if only because said redside NPC's are sure you didn't come here just for the fine dining and ocean views, you're probably here to try to arrest them), But by the same token, Officer Vic Johannsen (sp?) of King's Row? Good dude and all, but I mean, it just wouldn't make sense for him to try to go all "There can be only one!" against Venom, and Billy Heck of Port Oakes is not about to go after Thor. Has to be some discretion in Kill-On-Sightness.
  2. Hated this so much when it was used against me. 🙂
  3. Ouroborous mission arcs (auto exemplars you down to max level for that arc) Task Forces (similar auto-exemplar to the TF's level) join a team led by a lower level character enter a lower level PvP zone (bloody bay, siren's call, etc)
  4. over 60% of my playtime on a 50 is exemplard. Maybe 75%
  5. Honestly, I have zero expectations anything like that could ever really be made workable. Players CAN unslot the incarnate stuff now, they just DON'T. Player choice is ... already happening.
  6. okay for something with a Snowball's chance in hell? I'd completely rebuild Boomtown. I mean, it's been decades now. Give it the full Faultline treatment, new map, new contacts that give you a reason to vist all corners of the zone. And I'd add at least two more Redside Zones, not matter how I have to put them into being. One lvl 20-30, the other 40-50, and there wouldn't be a single Arachnos OR Longbow NPC in either one. Just varied other factions vying against each other for control, and have a quest line where you can either pick one to win if you're the mercenary who's code of honor demands that you stay bought, OR, play them all against each other to keep them all weak while you make off with the money, your choice. And I'd allow you to actually ENTER Loyal Tea & Coffee shops goldside. Hanging out there would get you a Barista Day job with temporary +Recharge.
  7. I would disable the incarnate system during most 45-50 content. I would only allow it to be active in content that was originallly designed with the incarnate system in mind, no exceptions. I would also be pummeled, relentlessly, by angry players.
  8. Change things about the zone as one side takes control. Similar to Recluse's Victory, or some WoW Battlegrounds.
  9. I've spent a Catalyst on a Shield Breaker Proc, because the rest of the Shield Breaker set was Attuned, but the proc was just lvl 10 unattuned. And it was missing that ring that every other IO had on the enhancement management screen. And it kept taunting me every time I saw it.
  10. Options are always good. Sounds like a reverse of the Peacebringer, where the Peacebringer resistance toggles include a bubble by default, but they have an alternate FX to skip the bubble. Just here you're starting with no bubble but want to add the soap bubble effect. They'd need to consider which powers in those to give optional animation to, and how to handle if you have multiple valid sources toggled on at once. But they already had to work all that out with Peacebringers back in the day. Should be achieveable.
  11. My understanding is the servers being physically located in the nations where they're as it as much for legal reasons as anything else.
  12. Reunion is the unofficlal EU server Indomitable is the unoffical PvP server Everlasting is the unofficial Roleplay server Excelsior and Torchbearer are "normal" servers. Well. As normal as we get. 🙂
  13. Plant/Psi/Psi - seeds, creepers, flytrap, good hold, good immob, enough recharge to keep two Spirit Tree's up indefinitely, extremely high uptime on Drain Psyche. Love love love this character.
  14. I still say you'd be rolling in the INF if you used the auction house more. But, I can respect either just that that's not your cup of tea, and/or that maybe for your first character you're doing a kind of "Live Off the Land" until 50, or something. Either way, glad to see you getting some IO's in place. Even if they're just basic IO's, the fact that they'll NEVER wear out on you means each one slotted is one less slot you have deal with in the future (at least, until you're ready to start doing sets....)
  15. For years I've half-wanted the possibility of underwater zones with swimming, aquatic enemies, etc. And it's always bothered me that in Independance Port, the water is 2 feet deep, but hides a giant Kraken, and supertankers can navigate it without running around / beaching. But I also remember how much people came to LOATHE underwater zones in other MMO's. Soooooo, maybe best to stick to Shoreline vs actually going 20,000 Leagues Under.
  16. The P2W Offense,Defensive,Survival Ampliers are there. Have been there. I get that many use them, I get that many like them. I will never use them, and I would prefer that they did not exist at all. I'm not sure I can really formulate a coherent objection as to what I find objectionable about them. It just seems... wrong... to me, anyways... to be able to use temp powers to cover something like Status Protection. I would be Full Metal Torches and Pitchforks if it took real life money to acquire. But even just costing in-game influence, it strikes me as going too far, being too overpowered, and shouldn't exist. That said, since they've existed on Homecoming since Day 1, clearly the HC devs disagree with me, and I will simply have to get used to it.
  17. I just figure I have 15 blueside, 15 redside, 10 goldside. Maybe I have to switch characters to team with friends? But I can totally still team with people and bring whatever is needed....tanking, support, controls, melee, or ranged.... just fine. I do get and respect where you're coming from, though.
  18. This needs to happen for next April Fools. No midgets following you around. Just everyone's character transmogrified into a kitty for one day.
  19. True.... and sometimes you may even want to slot several pieces of a taunt set like Mocking Beratement for set bonuses. If you slot that in Provoke, you won't miss.
  20. Most important reason of all, right there, in my book. I get that I may be "Same Planet/Different World" to a lot of people, but.... yea. For my characters? If their character concept is Always Hero / Dudley Do Right, then they will be Hero. Not Vig. And if their character concept is Doctor Doom / Global Menace, they will be Villain, not Rogue. Now, I do have some characters who are more of a "I don't arrest the bad guys, I kill them. And anyway, I am answerable only to my own code." Those characters, are Vigilante. And I do have some characters who have zero desire to rule the world or lord over anyone else, they just want to make a not-even-close-to-legal fortune. Those characters, are Rogues. But I care about which one they're categorized as, whether or not 99% of the player base gives a flying leap. And whether or not it cuts down teaming options for me. And even whether or not it cuts down content option and even whether or not it prevents from from ever picking up a Patron pool.
  21. Clearly we need City of Cats, and City of Dogs.
  22. I believe your premise is mistaken. To the best of my knowledge, a Brute's Taunt power is Targeted AoE, just like a Tanker's. Their Punch-Taunt is single target only. But not the actual Taunt power from their melee tree.
  23. I don't mind the leadership auras, so I wouldn't use it. But options are always good. For Team-Aura powers, I think it work like Under power customization: Minimal Fx. in case you, the person who selected the power, wants minimal Fx. if selected, you see minimal fx (or no fx, depending what they put in place), around you AND you see no fx around anyone else affected by the same power, either. You would also see Minimal Fx on yourself or anyone else even if they're also affected by someone ELSE with the same power. This would only affect what YOU see. Everyone else would see things as normal. Menu - Options - Some Sub Section - Suppress Fx for Team Auras more of a global hammer, this is NOT power-specific. This would be an across the board whammy to suppress any Fx from any team aura power from OTHER players displaying on YOUR screen. Everyone else sees everything as normal on THEIR screen (or at least, subject to their own selection) If set, you can still be affected by Steamy Mist or Shadow Fall, you'll still have the buff icons up in your buff list, and you'll still gain the resistance/defense/stealth. But you won't look translucent or have a pool of darkness at your feet. If set, you see no Fx from leadership. You'll still have the buffs in your buff list, but no floating shields, fire, targeting reticles.
  24. If you set direction and go to auto-run and THEN pan the camera, I think you'd be fine. But if you're doing fine control, constatly holding down the "forward" key and adjusting your direction with the mouse, etc as you fly, then yea, it won't work. For the most part I don't use path-auras that are enabled during flight. There's a Ground Only option.... if that fits your character. For my Plant/Psi dominator, having the path aura of leaves makes sense to be ground-based. But I guess if you're more of a Johnny Storm / Human Torch... yea, you'd want it flying too.
