Same with running via Linux. Not entirely sure any of the settings can be transferred, but I just built a new computer as well. (2012 laptop to brandnew system is quite a nice upgrade) I've been using the new launcher almost from it's release. Works well. A fresh install may make sense if you're using the new Coh Modder. I didn't do a fresh one, but I might do that anyway. Oddly enough, Lutris stopped working properly for me on my old computer and I wound up using a shell script to start the launcher, I'm still using the shell script. Logs a few interesting things and now that I look at it again, may need to log a report. 😛 : PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=60 wine ~/.wine/drive_c/Games/Homecoming/bin/win64/launcher.exe > ~/down/hclaunch.log 2> ~/down/hclaunch.err &

How difficult would be to make AH account wide?
lemming replied to MsSmart's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Have you seen how often they've updated those statistics? You're not accounting for the coding weirdness that is CoX. There are a lot of items out there that are keyed off the character name, but not as much on account. Makes stuff more messy and probably has lovecraftian effects on the dev's sanity when they have to deal with it. -
I don't see as many Speed ITFs, but I do see them since the revamp Other TFs, all the time on Everlasting and Excelsior Other iTrials, wrong RWZ, I see some advertisements for them occasionally, and the occasional LGTF. Was on one two days ago Hollows teams I see often enough. Others, rarer. And you still have to unlock KHTF. Respecs, yea, during WST I see both, but not often otherwise Redside, plenty of action I think there might be a confusion between stuff being run and stuff being advertised a lot.

Good to know it doesn't persist. Might be something with zero time logged off flagging it on check, so it would be a slim chance of someone snagging a name in the second that would be true. The if statement probably needs checking.

Based on "The various Flashback badges for completing challenges at various levels now do it based on the story arc maximum level, instead of the hidden Stature Level which made it difficult to know which story arcs counted for what. Only story arcs that reward 5 merits or more will count towards the challenge badges. " from the Patch notes: And then four days later: All Flashback Challenge badges: temporarily made the badges award on all arcs, regardless of merit payout amount. This change is due to many arcs, including all Incarnate Arcs and SSAs, not giving any merit rewards by default, instead putting them behind a Reward Choice which doesn't trigger the badge. Story arc merit reward payouts will be revised in January once we're back from the holiday break, and the limitation will be put back in to exclude non-combat and Personal Story arcs. Apparently it never got put back. May have slipped through the cracks, but to be fair, they didn't clarify which January...

Moved a character for DayJob purposes and noted I was getting a name warning for them. I tried a couple characters and if they were under 50 they got the "This character would be subject to the name release policy..." text and warning sign. It seems to only crop up for the last logged out character.

I kinda fell into rolling up a fire/fire stalker. Definitely a strong set and will probably get even better as I slot more sets. I had done a couple Axe chars before the revamp. Just before the revamp I did a Inv/Axe Tanker. Love the combo and probably my best tank currently. I need to revisit all the other powersets, most of which I need to respec and rebuild a char for...

Yep. It's a bug that single missions that award a badge give the Ouro badges as well, but it's been around for awhile now. iirc, there was a bug that made awarding some badges annoying, so the dev team made this possible. So for now, this works great, but might get closed later on. Then it's back to the other arcs that are listed in the other guide. (which I'm blanking on currently)

I started a fire/fire stalker recently. Level 40 so far. The AOE isn't too bad for a stalker. I'm OK with the AS, but I play several fire blasters, so more used to that.

Though, not all ambushed will attack a hidden player. Unfortunately it's inconsistent, but I've been followed thru the entire mission while walking a hostage out. 😄 It would be quicker to just kill defeat them, but it's funny.

Makes sense and nicely done with the testing on the following post

Can confirm, though it looks like it's always from your char's head up a little, so something to do with your char.

Yep, people who relied on Super Speed for stacking feel attacked. At least it didn't get brought in line with Kinetics super speed equivalent since that doesn't give stealth. (And the power pool version which I'm blanking on the name of) I like the changes outside the Super Speed, but I also don't tend to rely on SS for anything. I've been using teleport a lot more since the travel changes.

As some with a lot of QA experience, there's always probably some stuff you're missing when "Oh, it's a simple change". Just look at the AE XP bug because someone did an add instead of what was expected.

All new content is no longer solo friendly?

I noticed when doing Iron Challenges, the 20s & 30s were the most likely where I got swatted -
What are players thoughts on Seismic blast?
lemming replied to KaizenSoze's topic in General Discussion
I've done blaster as Seismic/Earth and Seismic/Plant. My /Plant is one of my favorites blasters. I've tried a couple sentinals, but not feeling it as much there. -
It's definitely more on Everlasting. Going thru pocket D and glancing at the local chat is often, odd. I don't see that on Excelsior. I think I have only gotten one ick proposition on Homecoming.

How difficult would be to make AH account wide?
lemming replied to MsSmart's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Honestly, this works well for most purposes. I find it easier often to craft stuff, but that's because of the inventory I have built up to craft from. There's a happy medium in there somewhere that is different for each player. -
All new content is no longer solo friendly?
lemming replied to arthurh35353's topic in General Discussion
There are some arcs that are hard to solo with certain builds, but I've solo'd most of the content in the game. The hardest stuff is often the low level Praetorian missions IMO. Most of the new stuff is later on when your characters have better mitigation. Toughest issue with the Watkins arc are the Zoombies IMO. The devs need to run a tight rope between the people asking for harder content and those that feel that stuff must be easier. They did dial back difficulty in some areas. (New Minotaur & Cyclops in Sister Solaris were brutal while in Beta for example) One thing you haven't mentioned is what AT you're having difficulty with. -
I think the number of people that are bothered by Patrol XP is massively lower than the number of people bothered by Hasten's glowing hands. Of the various options, I'd prefer the "If No XP toggled, no patrol XP accumulates" though that will have an effect on some of mine, I can work around it, and your having to kill yourself to remove it is more an issue. What I do, when a character is offline, they're doing more than patrol, but a good work/super/life balance probably helps the XP flow more efficiently after one is done resting. Plenty of studies have shown a short work week produces more output over the long term. On quick offing yourself: Eden for < lvl 35, the DE near the hospital beds are fast The Hive hosp works for 45+; Just tested it out and took 3 minutes to wipe out my 50s patrol XP on a blaster. A tanker might take slightly more time

Before my computer upgrade, Brainstorm would lag more than Excelsior. I'm thinking it's more to do with graphic settings, or the network speed. Both I have seen impact lag issues more than what the server is up to.
-
Another one is a redside arc where you're fighting the Shaper Cult with freakshow. Some guy named Ohm iirc. It's a common problem

I know there are some names on Everlasting, but I've never had an issue with teaming there. I started up some stuff there over the summer and ported a couple characters from Excelsior. There's a different style, but not too much different. That's not to say there aren't cliques, but there are a few on Excelsior as well. For most people, I'd say either server works fine. Both have Task Force channels and people that run particular content.

In theory, easy. From a coding standpoint, possibly not. In the name retention threads, the Devs mentioned that there are a lot of things that aren't easily identified by account. However, since we do have altinvite, we can check if your alt is tied to your account, so maybe? Powersets and such could be done since we already do it for a few different arcs against clones of your current characters (Posi 1 and a few others story arcs)

Fifty Billion Worth of Chaos: A Market Thought Experiment
lemming replied to Andreah's topic in The Market
Didn't someone already do the uncommon salvage disruption? For awhile 12k was the price one would get for throwing them onto the market. I forget how long that lasted, but all it did was have me dump a lot of uncommon at the time. (I tend to dump a bit when my salvage gets full and the base is already full, so it didn't change my actions much)
