[HUMOR] I've found a major error in Mids!

Hashtag BUZZSAW BUILD! -
Hey Devs, can you please some or all of this to HC?! :)
Hyperstrike replied to BurtHutt's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
But *I* think it's a good idea! And because nobody actually has access to numbers, I can automatically broaden my opinion to "most people" (like you just did) without anyone being able to prove me wrong! And you disagreeing with me just makes you "an outlier". See where I'm going with this? The point is not REALLY that I want that money (though, if offered, I wouldn't say no!), it's basically shining a light on the whole "assumption of support" by putting it in big, bold, ridiculous terms. -

You're missing the point. Simply because something is "popular", or has "many people" in favor of it, DOES NOT MEAN THAT IT IS A GOOD IDEA. I mean, *I* think that HC should pay everyone who plays $10,000,000 per character on their servers. EVERY MONTH. I'm sure that would be popular. And I'm sure it'd have wide support. But is it a good idea that something like that happens? Of course not. -

Yes, but you're not playing on NCSoft servers under the original NCSoft license. So it doesn't work that way here. -
It's a good place for a +GlobalRecharge, or a Knockback Resist, or a Slow Resist. Or even a Stealth IO. Unless you're planning a "HoverBlaster" playstyle, it's not a terribly great place to slot Defense. But every bit can help. If you ARE planning to HoverBlast, then just shorten that to "Every Bit Can Help".

I've been thinking about this for much of the last year. No secret, I sympathized with the "secret server" project. Still do. HOWEVER, given the events of the last year, undesirable consequences or no, I'm actually glad that CoH is back and publicly available to people (and for dev groups to wrench on for their own flavors). It's given so many people something to do, other than sit around, watch the news and just be angry. That's worth more money than I care to count (and I LIKE counting money). And the sheer joy it has brought people is worth more than any amount of money.

You can't stop or ameliorate the Unstoppable crash. In modern CoH, Unstoppable is a relic. It's essentially a delayed suicide button. And, given how tough you can build Invuln these days, it isn't really giving you all that much for that sort of price. IMNSHO, Unstoppable is a waste of a power pick. If you want something to buff your Resists for a short period, build towards Rune of Protection or a Melee Hybrid.

Question: Running this off a solid state drive or hard drive? Also, have you run a disk check lately? Do the revalidation first. If that doesn't kick it, start looking at the disk itself.

So how tall do you guys make your characters?
Hyperstrike replied to Beef Ninja's topic in General Discussion
Seriously though. Hyper is basically as tall as you can get him. But there are attempts to "skinny" him down so he doesn't look like he comes home with the crotch worn out of his suit from chafing... Then there's my smallest brute Kathoom. Little fireplug with Bull's Horns. And my PB Eclipse Phase. Tiny, and packs a wallop. Hell! Sometimes I don't even max the chest sliders on my female avatars! Boob afficionadoes everywhere HATE that action... -

The entire city is latent super. So, is it weird that you have these muscular "tall for the NBA" types running around, screaming like they're gonna die? Meanwhile, this bastard child of a fireplug and the entire Lullaby League runs up and beheads criminals with axes and swords to "arrest" them. -
Nah, with the proper choices, Endurance is just fine on an Invuln. Take a look at this. Note: With current Mids behavior, turn off Tough and Kick immediately. Make sure Combat Jumping and Unyielding are on. It isn't the highest damaging Scrapper (and it's no Proc-Monster). Optimal DPS Combo: Barb Swipe --> Ripper --> Barb Swipe --> Lunge DPS: 371.9868

All sliders to maximum. Otherwise, how will they contain all the power I shall put into them? -
Sorry, the new Mids automatically turns that stuff on. And Agility for Recharge, EndMod and Defense. And if you're looking for Stealth, note the slotting for Sprint.
-
Here's how I'd take it. Better overall Defense. Not just S/L. Not dependent on Shadow Meld. Slightly lower Resists (save for SL, I was actually able to de-slot Tough and leave it turned off). Lower Recharge, but higher damage output. Top DPS Calc is my build, the lower one is yours.
-
If you're doing this in mids, simply enhance your attacks as normal. Then Windows --> DPS Calculator (Beta). Click the MANUAL button and it'll suggest the best attack chain. Also, a funny. Treating an enemy as a speed bag?

Hi-dee-ho neighbor!

An hour later... Better? Realistically, unless you have captured something totally unique to the server group you're screenshotting, there's almost no way to determine the origin of an image. Especially if the image has been further manipulated.

The waiting for the high end 5000 series Ryzen processors is starting to REALLY work a nerve... Waiting in dread of my current 11 year old rig dropping out from under me.

No problem! I aim to Tank! The E/N Resist MOSTLY comes from 4-Slotting Shield Wall. 2% or so comes from the 4-slotted Unbreakable Guard in Tough. Then the two Resist uniques. You also get some from the Gauntleted Fist ATIO set 6 slotted. The F/C Resist mostly comes from the WinterO sets. Defense The two +3% Defense uniques. KO Blow and Foot Stomp, with the Melee and PBAOE WinterO sets provide more Melee Defense and AOE Defense. The Gauntleted Fist set also provides Melee Defense.. You're getting +2.5% from the Gaussian Set too. Ranged is propped up by Winter's Bite. AoE is almost TOTALLY carried by the WinterOs. I dropped the LOTG+Rech's into Auto Defense powers as well as low-End Combat Jumping and intermittently used Elude. Basically, if you;'re using Elude on this build, something has gone HORRIBLY wrong. As well as a 10% Rech bonus from Apocalypse and the ATIOs. It's not as durable vs S/L Resist as yours is. So if something is able to reliably crack your Defense, you could be in Big BIG Trouble. I would recommend using the Diamagnetic Interface to add an additional -ToHit to your bag of tricks. Basically this would allow you to Rage Crash and ACTUALLY over Incarnate Soft Cap on Melee and TECHNICALLY there on AOE. Without Elude. Hell, Elude's just been reduced to a mule. Practiced Brawler is a bit overkill on Recharge. So what? Rage is nice and easy to double. Not really using Cardiac for more than the Endurance reduction. You have decent Recovery. So your whole job is to grab aggro, then ATTACKATTACKATTACK like you were a Scrapper/Brute. You're not really getting much Resist-boost. Even if you went with Resilient. Because most of your Resists are from set bonuses, rather than power enhancement. Still if you're in real danger, and have Agile capped out, you're pulling down TOTALLY respectable Resistance numbers. And you still have Elude as an "Oh Shit" button 50% of the time. You've also got Build-Up firing out of Tactics, Slow Resist in SuperJump, and the Perception Boost in Rage. You've got all the Recovery/+End uniques in Health, as well as a Chance to Heal in Stamina (oh the reversal). And 4 of your attacks are carrying a Damage proc.
-
You're not showing game play. You're not really showing anything that couldn't be gotten on something like Paragon Chat. So you should be fine.
-
Take a look at my "Framework" thread. Handles most of the armor and ancillary pool stuff. Just plug in your assault primary and go to town. Primarily this sort of build is leaning heavily on ATIOs and the WinterOs.
-
The original post is a slightly more durable build the way it is. But the original build is VERY tight on Endurance. The second build is MUCH nicer on Recovery vs End Consumption. But the Resist values are lower. And in both cases, tossing Cardiac or Resilient doesn't really improve things much. Though, in the first build it DOES aleviate about a third of the resting endurance consumption and will further reduce the end consumption of attacks. That said, here's how *I* might go after it.
