I juggled flaming spike-balls once... Once...

Easier? Maybe. It really depends on the damage output. "That didn't really hurt divided by 10" is still "That didn't really hurt".

The original movie was about an ancient alien who'd taken over a human body and had been living for thousands of years as a "god". The series tweaks what the alien was and takes a bit of liberty with the material and character depictions. And then meanders through mythology while creating its own. Basically you have a few types of episodes. You have the "Fighting the aliens/gods" episodes which are the primary You have the "Meet the locals/looking for useful stuff" episodes. You have the "Dangerous tech" episodes. You have the "This is Top Secret" episodes detailing the secondary Earth-centric storyline. And every season has a "Clip Show" episode that basically rehashes the season/series. And once the show hits its groove, it does quite well and can be absolutely hilarious. Season 4's "Window of Opportunity" is a "Groundhog Day" knockoff. But it REALLY explores it and is fun as hell.

MOST series are rough in their first season. Stargate was. Trek TNG/DS9/Voyager all were. Farscape was The entire Berlanti Universe's citizens ALL had "first season syndrome". Eventually, you hit Riker's Beard and things just get MUCH better. Or you don't (still looking at some of the Berlanti Universe), and the series needs to die horribly.

You mean like Fire? Done that. You mean like Elec? Done that. You mean like Rad? Done that. You mean like Peacebringers? Done that! There's a reason I started threads for "Blood From A Stone" (maxed Resists) builds. I even have my Rad/Rad scripted so that he'll yell "Oh my God! I've been Defense debuffed into the negatives! MWAHAHAHAHAHA!"

BLASPHEMER!!!

And this is why you don't simply go for "Defense and Nothing But". Otherwise, you're simply an eggshell. Crack the surface and it's all over. Get your Resists up underneath, and it becomes a tickle fight.

Think a Crab needs Tough/Weave?

Can you share the build? -
Think a Crab needs Tough/Weave?
Hyperstrike replied to JnEricsonx's topic in Arachnos Soldier & Widow
There is NO SUCH THING as "overkill". There is only "kill" with ever greater confidence levels... -
It's part of how the POV "camera" interacts with the environment. This falls under a set of undesirable behaviors that I refer to as "stupid camera tricks".

Think a Crab needs Tough/Weave?
Hyperstrike replied to JnEricsonx's topic in Arachnos Soldier & Widow
Actually I'm inclined to agree with Bierfuizi somewhat. No Fighting pool. Granted, using roughly the same number of power choices to get to the same place. But Fighting is defiintely NOT needed. -
*Cough* Have you tried turning it off and back on again. Basically when Windows (or programs in Windows) are acting flaky, first move is ALWAYS "Rebootski!"
-
You play a Tanker that doesn't Tank? Uh. Isn't that akin to a petless mastermind? Or a toon that simply takes as many ancillary power pool powers and ignores primary and secondary pics?

What should the aggro cap on Homecoming be?
Hyperstrike replied to oedipus_tex's topic in General Discussion
If you say so squishy-boy... -
Almost sounds like a file is being held open. When was your last reboot? And, can you actually cut-paste (move) the folder somewhere else and then back?

What should the aggro cap on Homecoming be?
Hyperstrike replied to oedipus_tex's topic in General Discussion
What? You've never seen the movie where a stranger walks in, says something, and the next thing you know, every damn person in the town is after them? -
Inferno’ed Perma-Hasten, Perma-Power Boost, 61% Ranged Def
Hyperstrike replied to Cryoterm's topic in Blaster
Lazy me cringes at having to keep up with smacking Ageless every 2 minutes to maintain Perma-Hasten. See: 0.001%'er Problems- 10 replies

Level 35 Lts in a new level 31 Doc Buzzsaw mission
Hyperstrike replied to MrSnottyPants's topic in Bug Reports
Possibly. However, Doc Buzzsaw's stuff *IS* a bit tougher than stock content. -
Sakai, Yomo, Shens is asking about the internal logic and basic strategy in making the most of the set.

Brutes more or less run a fine balance between Scrapper damage and Tanker toughness. Additionally, it allows you some Attack/Armor combos that Scrappers just don't have access to.

What should the aggro cap on Homecoming be?
Hyperstrike replied to oedipus_tex's topic in General Discussion
If I can't herd three instances of the largest map in the game, packed wall-to-wall, floor to ceiling of enemies, SIMULTANEOUSLY, the aggro cap is too restrictive. -
Not judging. Just, IMNSHO, you're WAY overslotted on your armor. Here's a quick and dirty "How I might do it."
-
What can I say? I'm an Auto-Tank. When everything fails, I revert to tanking on whatever I'm on. This is how I wound up Tanking LR during the STF once on a Fire/Fire/Pyre blaster...
-
No problem. And while I refer to it as a "Tanktroller", just keep reminding yourself that you are NOT a Tank. Basically you're "I'm a god! I'm a god! I'm a god! I'M A CORPSE!" Charging in and eating an alpha for a team full of squishies DOES work. But, every now and again, the RNG *HATES* you, and you go down in a blood-squirting pile of fail.

Feedback & (set) Advice for War Mace / Invulnerability
Hyperstrike replied to tidge's topic in Scrapper
With Invuln, yeah. You can build up a moderate amount of Psi Resist/Defense. But also remember that you're ALSO covered by your Positional Defenses as well. Trying (and failing) to remember an enemy that's tossing out pure [Psi] damage with no flags that'd invoke Positional Defense. Take a look above at the build I tossed out on Wednesday. Sure, it's only got 18.63% Psi Defense. But anything Psi/Melee is going to have to deal with a MINIMUM of 39.94%. Anything Psi/Ranged: 365% Anything Psi/AoE: 31.56% So, while Psi IS still your Kryptonite, it's not nearly as bad as you'd think.
