Say "Braiiiiiiins!" 😝

Most KD powers, IIRC, list their actual mag value of 0.67. I wonder if there is a significance to that value. If they were to be set to, say, 0.10 instead, even doubling or tripling the effect wouldn't put it over the threshold, but then you could boost actual KB powers without fear of it changing the KD ones... In giving more thought regarding the ghost MM set, here's a very rough rundown: 1. Ice bolt 2. Summon Spectral Follower (has basic ice attacks and gains more with upgrades) 3. Ice blast 4. Enchant spirit (1st upgrade power) 5. Freeze ray (or maybe Ice breath) 6. Summon Spectral Knight (has ice melee and ice armor powers, gains more with upgrades) 7. Deathly chill (basically a pet-centered toggle version of sleet with a smaller AoE) 8. Summon Daemon Lord (uses ice blasts and ice control powers, gains more with upgrades) 9. Spectral empowerment (2nd upgrade power)

Try using a 'petcomall goto passive' command, so they'll ignore everything, and eventually go into their idle animations...

I hate to sound negative, but have you never heard of the concept of "private servers" before? I suppose not, but that's basically what Homecoming is; A 3rd party group got a hold of the original game files, (from around the time the game shut down), and setup their own servers for it...

Do you have down time in game and what do you do?
biostem replied to DougGraves's topic in General Discussion
It's rare that I can just sit and play for more than like 20 minutes at a go. As a result, I usually solo, and what I'll do is enter a mission, take out a few groups, go and tend to the laundry/cooking/whatever else I have to do, then return to the game when there's another gap that I can play. I don't really play the market or anything, beyond selling some orange salvage or buying a stealth IO, etc. On the few instances where I am able to team up and/or play for a longer session, I like making small talk with my teammates, etc... -
Turn EATs into "generic" shape shifters
biostem replied to DougGraves's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
So, beyond changing the color and perhaps having a few alternate animations for the regular attacks, all that'd be different is that there might be another few options for the Nova and Dwarf forms? Is that all that's being proposed? -
Here's what I'd recommend: 1. Get a decent used tower as a starting point, (something like this). 2. Get a good quality SSD, (I lean toward Intel, Samsung, or OCZ). 3. While the 8GB that the tower comes with should be plenty, it wouldn't hurt to bump that up to 16GB or so. 4. Get a decent graphics card - something like a GTX 1060 can be had for about $150 new, or $110 used. The above should run the game handsomely, without setting you back too much.

Since knockdown is basically knockback with a magnitude less than 1, powerboost would fundamentally change those powers, instead of boosting their existing effect. Would these ghosts basically just use dark blasts and melee attacks? Ice? Psi? We have many models in game that could conceivably be bundled together into a MM set - how would this differ from, say, necromancy, whose pets get dark attacks after the 2nd upgrade. Admittedly, this could be interesting, but the animations would probably be quite difficult/complex. I wonder if, instead of a huge regen buff, if they could just be given a HoT component, (maybe tied directly or inversely to how injured you are).

Could be any one of a number of things; Maybe the requirements of CoH have changed between now and then. Maybe CoH is coded to look for certain revisions or "newness" of software, but because some of that software may be newer than the client, it get confused or something. Have you tried launching the game in safe mode or with other startup options? Check out the client commands at paragonwiki...

Yes it does - there is literally an item listed called "Influence". It's further down in the list. Here's s screenshot, for reference:

On your powers tray, click the "Combat attributes" link, then from the resulting menu that comes up, right click any attribute you want to track and choose that option. It''l then show up as a mini menu/window on your main screen, which you can move to wherever you want.

It'd also be nice to know which specific OS you're running, and perhaps a screenshot of the error message. Cheers!

It'd be nice if they could add various belt options, (maybe shoulder?), that consisted of suspenders or other overall-like straps that went up the front, over the shoulders, and down the back...

Inflection doesn't carry over very well in a text-only forum. your use of all caps in the word "crazy" could mean that you think, completely seriously, that yes, people should have to put in effort to earn things like costume pieces, or it could be an indication of you being sarcastic. You wrote it, so obviously you know what you meant, but don't make the mistake of thinking that intent is "obvious" to other readers...

The way you phrased that, it leads me to believe that putting in the "effort" to unlock stuff isn't actually an accomplishment at all. If that is indeed the case, then why bother locking it behind a badge, number of kills, or mission at all? If the tasks necessary to achieve something are actually negligible, then why have them? Wouldn't any such accomplishment be empty? If playing the game itself isn't enough of a reward for you to "unlock endorphins", then maybe you're looking in the wrong place...

Turn EATs into "generic" shape shifters
biostem replied to DougGraves's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Where the uniqueness comes into play is the symbiotic nature they have with their host; You can RP that however you like and/or stick to the human form, if the nova and dwarf forms are that much of a turn off for you. I'm not against adding a new shapeshifting AT, as Obsidius pointed out - I just don't think trying to modify Kheldians into them is the correct approach to make. -
Nothing is taken away from those that want items locked behind some sort of achievement; It's actually quite simple - just don't use the costume pieces/temp powers/etc, unless you feel you've met whatever arbitrary requirement should be met. Other people, who don't subscribe to that sort of limitation, can then use the stuff as they see fit. Why is a self-imposed limitation bad, but one placed upon you by the game ok?
-
Well, there are basically 2 groups in this thread: 1. Those that want stuff to just be unlocked right from the get-go. 2. Those that want you to have to earn stuff in-game. As for for your point about vitriol - This is the internet, and as much as we'd like to think of ourselves as sophisticated debaters, people feel strongly about particular topics, and things tend to escalate quickly...

Proposal: Weaponized Assault for Dominators
biostem replied to Wavicle's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
It could be fun to play a set that is more weapon based. I'm not a fan of the martial set, so this could be interesting. I'd like to see the sword attacks benefit from the different ammo types as well - just have it be a special blade or something. -
Very cool design! I so wish we could get those eye pieces without the little bit of color on the eyebrow... Cheers!
