He died, but his ashes made great fertilizer... to grow the now legalized "Nemesis Pot"...

It seems odd that you would want to take real-world scenarios and extend them into the game, but only in very specific cases. Obviously we have to *not* do this with regard to our character's getting shot or stabbed, though. Maybe make the to-hit chance vs static object be 95% while out of combat... but while you're in the heat of battle, with a demon or robot trying to tear your head off, your aim might be a little off sometimes...

That's why I mentioned basically making it a "beam sword", and only using the katana powers/animations for ease of implementation; We have various sci-fi/high-tech sword models we can use. Heck, confine it to those if you'd like...

Try: /bind [keyname] "powexecname taser dart$$targetcustomnext oil slick" *Just remove the [keyname] part and substitute your own key of choice.

Controller's Containment: Adding more conditions
biostem replied to Oneirohero's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Well, one solution would be to basically grant controllers containment damage vs otherwise mez-immune enemies. As for the XP lost vs confused enemies - well since they pose absolutely zero risk to you, and you can basically stay at a safe distance until you've stacked enough magnitude to get the effect to take hold, why should you get anything at all? Just tag them for a little damage and you should at least get *something*.- 9 replies

Beam Rifle also has a no-redraw option. Strangely enough, while katana *does* have a no-redraw option for melee ATs, it doesn't in the blaster ninja training secondary set
-
It doesn't really fit with the theme, and there aren't enough such attacks.
-
So this concept basically combines ranged attacks from beam rifle with modified attacks from the katana melee set. The difference here is that the katana attacks would deal lethal and energy damage, and also benefit from the disintegration effect of beam rifle. 1. Single shot 2. Sting of the wasp 3. Disintegrate 4. Flashing steel 5. Charged up - Basically, a build-up like power, except it gives your melee attacks a 100% chance to apply the disintegration effect. 6. The lotus drops 7. Cutting beam 8. Penetrating ray 9. Lancer shot I'd love to hear your thoughts & feedback. Thanks!

Relieving the slot crunch on Tri-Form Kheldians
biostem replied to Redlynne's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Isn't there basically a non nova/non dwarf version of each power that they get? What if the forms didn't have any of their own attacks, and instead used those powers, including their slots? -
Honestly, here are 3 simple binds/macros that make playing a mastermind much easier: macro Att "petcomall attack aggressive" - This will create a little button on your power bar labeled "Att", which when pressed, will cause your pets to attack your target and go into an aggressive stance, (thereby attacking any valid targets in range). Alternatively, substitute 'aggressive' for 'defensive', so your pets won't run off if they see an enemy. macro Def "petcomall follow defensive" - This will create a little button on your power bar labeled 'Def', which will cause your pets to follow you and only attack if they themselves are attacked first. The 'defensive' command also triggers bodyguard mode, which will help keep you alive if you're being attacked. And finally: /bind lctrl+lbutton "petcomall goto passive" - This one allows you to issue a command to your pets to go to the location that you control-clicked, without stopping to defend themselves or attack. This is great to force pets into melee range or simply to get them out of a crowded area, while ignoring all enemies around them. Put simply, you have 2 "power icons" which tell your pets to attack an enemy or follow you, and a ctrl+click to get them to go to the exact spot you want; Three little commands to make your master-minding easier and less of a hassle!

I'm just trying to think of ways to make the concepts work, and how to use existing assets to do so. They could just as easily have little guns pop out of your shoulders or forearms. Given that comics encompass the full gamut of power sources/origins, backpacks aren't that far fetched...
-
Then it would seem that you're being shoehorned, (or at least greatly encouraged), to dip into fighting and leaping, to at least be able to withstand the damage and status effects dealt you by leading from the front without primary or secondary armors/status protection powers to aid you...
-
I would reverse it; YOU get a bonus to defense and damage for every pet in range, and maybe putting your pets into defensive mode shunts damage from them to you, or something similar... EDIT: For the above to work, I think you'd need tanker or brute levels of HP and defensive values. Maybe, in addition to replacing the 3 attacks in the pet set, the 4th "special" ability would be replaced with something that further bolsters you and/or your pets - like I could see necromancy having a power that let's you drain one of your pets to heal yourself and buff your abilities for a short while. For mercs, YOU take the serum, (albeit modified to actually be worthwhile). For 'bots, they fire healing beams on you. Fro demons, maybe the demon temporarily possesses you to grant you with buffs, and for bests, you summon prey, which when killed, grants you health and endurance. Thugs - well maybe gang war would function almost the same, except they debuff the enemy due to the confusion they cause.
-
If you look at the below images, many Crey power armor-wearing units share the same backpack/over-the-shoulder piece; I wonder if those round "ports" could be made into power emanation points...
-
So as an example of a way I think this could work, would be for Dominator Assault sets, such as this Ranger Assault Set I suggested. I could also see something like a dual pistols/dual blades assault set, and perhaps beam rifle/titan weapon or katana. I don't see how you could combine 2 or more melee sets all together, unless you added a new gimmick to that set specifically for the combined/mis-mash of powers it contains.
-
Champions Online allows something like this via their "freeform" system. Frankly, it's horribly unbalancing and would either result in godlike characters or super gimped ones; Imagine if you took some beam rifle attacks but not disintegrate. Imagine if you took street justice and rage from SS. Don't get me wrong - I think there is a way to create a few sets that mixed things up a bit, but not to the extent you're suggesting...
-
Then call it "power suit" or "integrated weaponry". The point, IMO, is that it's more about the animations that such a set would use, and how it would combine things like energy blasts, projectile weapons, and various munitions, all into 1 set...

Controller's Containment: Adding more conditions
biostem replied to Oneirohero's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
The problem with including confuse, IMO, is that they are easily permable and don't draw aggro - most other mez effects are barely permable, and they draw aggro. You'd likely have to adjust the confuse powers to not skew the risk vs reward ratio way off...- 9 replies

While that would be pretty cool, I think the OP wanted to keep with the existing MM pets. IMO, it's more about a MM that leads from the front...
-
You'd probably have to remove the attacks from the MM primaries and throw in some armor & status protection powers, to make it viable.
-
I think a good starting point would be some neck options, (I guess it'd go under the shoulder category), that were basically large armored gorgets with or without shoulder armor attached, which would kind of integrate into the helmet, giving a similar aesthetic.
-
Actually, I think you're referring to 'Energy Aura'. Either way, OP, your best bet is to go with a 'Crab Spider Soldier', since they use a lot of integrate weaponry. You can do things like create a sentinel, blaster, or even certain dominators, to reflect different notions of a power-armor user. I get the gist of your initial post - wanting to be able to mix energy weapons, projectile weapons, and various other facets of gear built into your armor, but I think that notion is just too specific in origin. It would be nice if there were more options for power animations, but with a little creativity, you can really pull off a power armor user quite well.

So one of my favorite PnP game verses is Rifts, (more for the world-building and art - the actual game mechanics are a mess). Anyway, I like the concept of the Naruni - interdimensional arms dealers, in particular their "Repo-Bots". I'd love to see what other folks can come up with. The image is in black & white, but I imagine the 'bots would be some shade of black/dark grey/blue/etc. Thanks for your consideration! For reference:
