Five Night's At Freddy's... The Movie
biostem replied to ThaOGDreamWeaver's topic in Comic, Hero & Villain Culture
I never played the games, but there seems to be a lot of lore surrounding FNAF; Does the movie go into any of that? Also, didn't Nick Cage do some sort of gory parody of the concept of killer animatronics at a kids' pizzeria & arcade? -
How would you go about creating a character whose main schtick is inflicting/cursing enemies with bad luck? I was thinking maybe a mind/dark controller and rationalizing it as you cursing the enemy with weariness, clumsiness, and maybe blindness? Your thoughts? Thanks for reading!

Most of my characters are magic or tech. A close second is mutant, followed by natural, with science being a distant 5th. I find tech or magic far easier to explain away. To me, "mutant" means you always had that ability/potential, whereas science is some process/accidental exposure that causes the powers. "Natural" is the toughest, because it already stretches credulity to believe any CoH character could *not* rely on magic, tech, or some other form of enhancement to survive. The only exception would be that I consider "Natural" to encompass any traits that a character would have due to their species. So for instance, an alien that can project energy because of their innate characteristics would be natural, and even something like a demon whose abilities are due to their demonic nature, (and not explicitly learned magic/alchemy), would also be natural...

Suggestion: A Special Room For Quantum Gunners
biostem replied to LikeRacerX's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I mean, a level 1 Kheldian could run to PD, talk to Null, then go through the villain stuff as if they were created there from jump street... -

Suggestion: A Special Room For Quantum Gunners
biostem replied to LikeRacerX's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Are there that many missions where you are supposed to be undercover that would warrant this type of implementation? Further, the special anti-Kheldian enemies have been scaled-back quite a bit since the HEATs were introduced, (AFAIK, Void Hunters and Cysts don't spawn in regular content and the quantum damage was changed from a special damage type to negative energy). -

Unless you know specifically that it is the drive that's bad, I wouldn't try putting a new HDD/SSD in the old laptop just yet. Assuming that the main body of the old laptop is in fact still in good working order, I'd try and weigh how much it'd cost you to upgrade the RAM vs how much of a performance increase it'll get you. If it had a Celeron w/ 4GB of RAM, and unless you're in love with it, it's probably not worth investing more money in. If it's an i5 or better, then going to 8GB or even 16GB may be worth it, (again assuming everything else is in good working order).

Sigh...this is why we can't have nice things.
biostem replied to Skyhawke's topic in General Discussion
Does nobody just run a quick AE arc to buy the common salvage for a pittance? Though, even at an inflated price, 1 level 50 minion should get you a few dozen pieces of common salvage... -
I wonder how difficult it would be to add full day/night cycles to all zones.

It's not about spamming or anything like that; It's about what is the most likely way to see new options implemented. Replacing the medical gadget with something else is a lot more likely than porting over other or creating wholly new animations, especially since the interruption mechanic probably adds an additional layer of complexity...
-
I think a more realistic approach would be to simply offer a selection of objects one uses for the medicine pool. For instance, a crystal, some sort of small tome, a generic blob, or even just a glowing light.

What you call "skippable" others find quite useful. Don't dismiss a power just because you can't think of a way to make it work or it doesn't suit your play style.
-
I'm not against there being some secondary effect, like shattering the ice patch, but I would only want it to occur when I specifically want it to - I wouldn't want it to become a targetable pseudo-pet like oil slick arrow, where someone else could "activate" it and undo the soft control I was going for. Perhaps casting ice patch replaces the power icon with a "shatter" power, which does as you described, so only the caster can opt to do so...

Which AoE? Ground Zero?

I second this. It also has a great secondary +recovery power in particle shielding, (can't enhance it, but it's +50% iirc).

It's more like a generic "lantern jaw" style that many taller/slimmer male characters are depicted with, IMHO...
-
Powersets are more than just attack powers, and that's a good thing. A power not dealing damage does not mean that it's useless, nor does giving a power a damage component suddenly make it useful. I would much rather have variety in the powerset options than a strict uniformity that strips them of any character...

I remember semi-regularly joining a low level team, back in the day, and street sweeping in the lower level hazard zones - plenty of enemies, relative safety, fewer loading screens, and CoH has always had relatively good individual enemy XP vs mission completion XP, so it worked out rather well.

Give male and huge gender characters the heart sunglasses!

There are many, many parts that could/should be ported between the various body types, so this gets my thumbs up as well! -
Purchase Free Costume Change with Halloween Salvage
biostem replied to gameboy1234's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Agreed - set a maximum number of free/unused costume change tokens you can have at any one time, so holding onto or auctioning the salvage could still be worthwhile... -
Purchase Free Costume Change with Halloween Salvage
biostem replied to gameboy1234's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Meh - Of all the things being asked for, a free costume token bought using Halloween salvage seems like a very benign request, so why not! -
Here's another I think came out nicely, "Warptoy", a Grav/Traps Controller, (been kind of on a tech-themed streak lately):
