Originally pirated but now partially tolerated by the owner of the game IP, let's not forget the talks between the HC team and NCSoft, and things like the lift of the ban on streaming, the public intent of support from the players towards charity events, and even the redesigned logo and exclusive game client, Homecoming has the most solid foothold if we are ever going to be allowed to continue and develop, I would worry more if i was in one of the other servers.

No, i get it.  If there were no badges for the insanely difficult way I would withdraw my complaint.  Give more rewards.  whatever.  But a badge?  EVERYONE deserves a chance at the badge.  But the badge is gated behind knowing 7 people who are very good and have two hours to kill.  Anybody else see an issue with this?  No?  Then you know 7 strong players with two hours to kill.  PUG players are screwed here.  The badge is out of reach.  Split into 3 and award the badge for completion of all 3 parts.  PUGging it would be tough, but doable, after a few misses and various teams.  But all one run?  Will rarely happen at best.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume you've gathered a few data points to make that conclusion about pick up groups. Would you mind telling me the makeup of some of those PUGs that found the Aeon Strike Force tough? What difficulty were they on? Maybe some builds or powersets to illuminate inquiring minds a little.

sure.  we race the itf for 11-14 minute runs weekly.  top time is 4-7 minutes?  something like that.

that is not normal.  that is not "forming Dr. Q try for speed" in LFG.  that is not "aeon Relentless Badge run try for speed" in LFG.

If badges were not attached (you get the badge for ITF for a 5 min run) then your point would be valid.

But if you are a PUG player (as I was for a many many years) if you want those badges you are screwed.

I still remember an Old Posi from live that disintegrated.  I was trying to finish solo on a Blaster and kept trying to snipe the EB and escape down the elevator.  sad.  failure.  The Devs have created a new petri dish for many of these types of events to form.

There you go again with not liking change. This isn't a normal SF, it's entirely new content created by the Homecoming volunteers and isn't based on how much money they can make or some other tired MMO marketing strategy.

Ran the old-school challenge in the Ouroboros flashback version of LRSF. It was a nice change of pace!

That said, it really underscored some weaknesses of trying to run team content out of Ouro.

    • Unlike TFs/SFs, entry into the zone isn't sufficient proof of being able to join the TF. Heroes can't join the LRSF, but they can enter Ouro.
    • Unlike TFs/SFs, the leader had to be rogue or villain - vigilantes can't start the flashback LRSF, even though they can start the normal one.
    • There's no way that I know of to check the team's faction contents once the team is assembled. I had to ask people verbally to confirm there were no heroes.
    • The contact let us start the LRSF even with a hero on the team. (I had asked, but someone didn't know...) We didn't get confirmation that there was a problem until one of the team couldn't enter Grandville.

I'm not sure what the best solution is, but I will say that if these problems were fixed I think a lot more people would run flashback missions as teams. There are a lot of interesting story arcs and people have run the existing TFs a bazillion times, so the variety would, I think, have innate appeal.

Here are some random, unfiltered thoughts off the top of my head:

    • Add an indicator of faction in the team view
    • Add warning text when viewing arcs in the Crystal that the team's comp doesn't allow accomplishing a given arc
    • DIsallow starting an arc with the wrong team faction composition
    • Add a Null the Gull to Ouro so that people can simply switch on the spot if they need to

Player Alignment status is indicated in the tab of their info when you click on their names.

Not to be that guy, but I don't think Manticore is a Weekly Strike Target next week.  I'm down for whatever, but if folks want Notice of the Wells and extra XP maybe we review?

You are correct, it is not the weekly strike target next week:

    On the plus side:

The content is top notch - the story, the dialog, the humor.  Absolutely fantastic.

    Minuses:

The rewards seem a bit stingy.  They'll need to datamine how long it takes to complete once people get a little more familiar with it.  And I don't mean the speedrunners; I mean the average time.

Some of the badges are difficult to get due to straight-up bugs.  Becky sometimes decides to walk through the wall and disappear, or gets lost when you go through a door.  The blue patch in the Midas fight is buggy.

    Overall:

    I rate it a B+.

It's not perfect, but it's way better than the average task force.  It shouldn't be too hard to get it to just about perfect with a bit of patching.

Note:  I've run it four times so far.  Once at base difficulty and three times at the second setting (i.e. minimum to get the optional badges).

I'm of a similar opinion on content, however, I thought the rewards were plentiful. On the lowest difficulty setting, I walked away with incarnate threads, two purple recipes dropped, two veteran levels, and a snazy DSO enhancement from the reward table.

Which still take the celerity etc ones anyway though, so coulda just been that and let us get some free small movement bonuses in the prestige sprints XD lol

Well the bonuses from the new travel IO sets are better than those Running & Sprints and Leaping & Sprints sets. Check out some of my testing for a good sense:

I was wondering if the def numbers were high enough that it might skirt the attacks.

They probably were, but the way that the beam attack is set up, players are informed of it's impending activation. So leaving the area/breaking LOS and I think confusing? the target will prevent the attack, but it is designated autohit.

Without reading through all 7 pages to find it lol, is there any notice about how it's currently not letting me slot thrust in sprint?

So Sprint only accepts [Running & Sprints] or [Leaping & Sprints] IO sets, Running Speed enhancement TOs, DOs, SOs, Basic IOs, etc. Thrust is a Running-only IO set, which Sprint does not accept.

I don't think I'm smart enough for those tickets. All those reward rolls seem like just a bad deal to me. 3000 tickets (threads) for a random rare recipe.

That math doesn't make sense to me either! I have to assume there was a purpose behind this change that I am not privy to. I mean Incarnate threads can be pretty valuable! Lots of nice inspirations ready at Luna's store.

Hmmm . . . Sound Cannon, Meteor and now this . . . we already have gale and hurricane.  Perhaps wind control and . . . WIND BLAST!!  Flatulence themed heroes rejoice!

I thought that for a second too! Then I realized it was a signature image, meaning it is in every post published by CP. Perhaps it is meant to evoke something, "when it rains, it pours" type imagery?

  12. I received a Damage/Recharge DSO from completing the ASF today. I checked the market and one had recently sold for 30 million. I thought that was low, so I bought 3 and made it to a Level 53 Dam/Rech DSO. Surprisingly there were no bids or for sale on the market. I am contemplating what to do with it now.

This whole arc is completely bugged for me, the 3rd mission, I have to find a way to glitch the lab door open. I have to run away from buzz once I get to the lab and then she kills Pierce, then the lab opens and the mission never completes.. I'm just stuck sitting here with everything dead, glowie is clicked, the nav bar just continues to say "Get your friends to the lab"... Don't know what else to do, I've gotten here 4 times (reset through Oro) and can never complete this mission...

    Click above, mission bugged.

Well, I assumed you were going for a traditional chinese medicine type of character,  which would be totally fine I guess. 🙂

Accupuncture (is this the word in english?) for example is a totally accepted treatment also in the western world nowadays.

Hmm...I wonder if there would be some kind of treatment in it using ❄️

But too lazy to google it...

R.I.C.E. - Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation! I remember that one from high school track.

Can we get an option (maybe w Null the Gull) to put the cyclopes and minotaurs in Sister Solaris' Incarnate arc back to their original versions please?  Having tried it now, as I expected the final mission of this arc with the suicidal NPC companions has become deeply unpleasant to attempt to solo.

The versions being used now are the correct ones for the corresponding reward table.
