This episode had a LOT of references to other Star Wars works.  The Fallen Order one was just the most obvious one.

    1. The obvious one:  Using the shattered glass of the Inquisitorium to flood the passageway to allow escape.  Fallen Order

    2. Leia trying to threaten with rank and status. A New Hope

    3. Leia interrogation with a lot of sass.  A New Hope

    4. Obi deflecting blaster bolts into other enemies.  The Prequel Trilogy

    5. T-47 Speeders.  Empire Strikes Back.

    6.  Master Tera Sinube, 1st Jedi in amber Kenobi focuses upon.  The Clone Wars, episode "Lightsaber Lost" (appearances in other episodes as well)  There was also an unclear shot of a creature which might have been one of two known Jedi from the same species.  One of those was a Jedi Council member, Coleman Kcaj.

    7. Lightsaber attacks on stormtroopers in a darkened interrogation room.  The Force Unleashed II trailer.

    8. Reva's charging cry of "Betrayer!" The Force Awakens - Kylo's rage-cry of "traitor" towards Flynn.

    Thoughts:

    1. Stormtroopers never live to learn:  when you hear a noise behind the door you are guarding...solo... you call it in.  You do no open the door and look hard to one side exposing the back of your head.  Honestly, since there's an Evil Overlord's List, there should be an Evil Minion's List as well, and this should be on it.

    2. I'm reminded of a line from Der Fuehrer's Face, that Nazi-mocking WWII hit by the Spike Jones Orchestra:  "they'll never bomb this place".  Arguably the third most powerful fortress in the galaxy, and they have no underwater sensors, and apparently no long range sensors to see two fighter craft approaching.  They also have a big open deck apparently with no anti-aircraft weaponry, and with masses of equipment and troops just waiting for conical ranged destruction.  Oh and they hang their ships from the ceiling where its not easy to jump in and pursue.  The word for today, kids, is "overconfidence".

    3. A good psych-out.  Some of the YouTube reactors agreed with my feelings that Tala couldn't possibly survive the fortress.  Clearly the design was to make us think that, then kill Wade instead, a character we barely knew.  But the impact was still powerful and sobering.

    4. When are they going to give Fourth Sister meaningful dialog and something to do other than to stare menacingly?  It's really getting bizarre by this point.  She's window dressing, and that doesn't seem like something that should be for an Inquisitor since they are so rare.

    5. Vader's rage was awesome.  Even Kenobi didn't gain such a vigorous reaction after Vader started wearing the helmet.

    6. The amber tombs:  so unexpected, and yet, maybe not.  Rumors have been swirling for a while now that Favreau and Filoni have been tasked with making sense out of the hash that is the Sequel Trilogy.  There've been hints of a secret cloning research project underway in both The Bad Batch and The Mandalorian.  Putting force-sensitives into amber is reminiscent of Jurassic Park getting DNA from mosquitos in amber.  Here, it may be a way to preserve the bodies of the force-sensitives to extract material at any time for the study and perfection of cloning or perhaps other techniques for constructing a force-sensitive body.  Palpatine may already be setting his ideas of immortality into motion.

He already is.  The game is considered canon.  Make him live action...aye, that's what we want to see.

I could've sworn I heard that Disney waved off the video game series in to "Legends" status.

The classic game: Jedi Knight: Jedi Outcast had Kyle Katarn go through the process of rediscovering his abilities as he let them fade after Dark Forces 2.

    Make Kyle Katarn canon!!!

I can't recall if I re-submitted this to the Homecoming team,  but back on live I suggested retooling some areas of the zones to look a bit more like northeast USA big cities.  The brutalism is unrelenting in some zones.  Specifically I suggested adding ethnic neighborhoods, basically redressing what's already there with decor one would find in such a district.  The first to come to mind was a "Little Asia" neighborhood where the Tsoo liked to hang out (which at the time of the original suggestion was Skyway.  There's been some gang shifting since then).  But there's other possibilities:  Little Italy near the Family in Independence Port (which might liven up the west side), a Greek neighborhood near the Warriors in Talos, a deserted Balkan-themed neighborhood in Perez Park near the Skulls (leaders, the Petrovics are Serbian, if I recall correctly).  Lots of others not necessarily associated with a gang:  Little Bohemia/Czech Village, Little Russia, Hispanic District, etc.  Not every such neighborhood would have to be functioning, either.  Some may be deserted and half-turned to rubble in zones like Eden or Boomtown.

This concept could also apply to non-ethnic neighborhoods, such as an artist's colony in a low-rent area such as Kings Row.

Expanding on the concept would allow for mission givers with missions tied to the neighborhood.

Solid ideas, but Paragon's city planners don't have a good track record for zoning 😆

I suggested the thumbtack command, which was implemented not long after. However, while I did come up with the idea independently, after the fact I discovered I was not the first to do so, as similar ideas had been previously submitted by two other posters.

Also, I'm quite curious how the OP was able to filter the threads to include only the ones they started. My efforts to that end were in vain.

So I went to the Suggestions and Feedback Thread, then used the 'Sort' function and specified content I started.

But we do have Martial Arts (including alternate animations), Energy Melee, Electric Melee, and Street Justice that could be to represent a being with super strength.  Even Mace, Titan Weapons, Broadsword and Axe could be weapons wielded by beings with super strength.  I don't see why people get caught up on the name of the set.  Is it just that you want to use foot stomp without being angry?

Take Off does something similar from Mighty Leap. So that you're not always angry, at least that could be an explanation.

  7. Here's a different one for the forum goers out there - whether you've played Homecoming for a day or for years, I'm sure everyone has had ideas, feedback, and suggestions for how to make this game or the community itself better. Sometimes players have something they want the community to discuss, sometimes its a please and thank you, other times its a head scratcher (you know what I mean!). What are some of the ideas, feedback, or suggestions that you have had in the past?

    I'll go first -

    Spoiler

    image.thumb.png.7892a4e493ec7ed86b61865102d2c470.png

A couple of these ideas were stinkers, I'll admit. The first suggestion I posted was borne out of my misunderstanding of how the special Zombie Apocalypse event worked. The next one was a great discussion among the forum goers about changing some zones that I thought weren't utilized much in to PvP zones - lots of heated, but respectful discussion and a realization that I was advocating for a solution that wouldn't have addressed my underling concern. The next one related to me wanting to enjoy a unique mission map without getting booted from the Trial after the time limit was reached (I'd chalk that one up to my own nostalgia!). Another was related to a nagging side effect of the risk versus reward table - that being that an enemy NPC won't grant any XP or Inf it does not attack. The Nemesis Mole Machine in particular, even when the NPC dialog says so in the mission, does not grant any reward. Last two I recently suggested had to do with adding a number on top of the annual Winter Event badge to distinguish them (the two current badges share the same badge art) and the other was what I thought was a rationale idea - make PvP Day Jobs work in PvP.

So, what about the rest of you? Any good ideas that got picked up by the Homecoming Team? Any stinkers? Any you wish you could talk about more? Let's hear it!

I've yet to see any updates. Not even a whisper since the pandemic really hit full force, so it may be a bit until even that hits normality.

I was going to add the part about last year where Homecoming did a stream of the beta for the Dr. Aeon SF to benefit a charity, but I didn't really have a good angle on it and it wasn't much different than the post I already had about the streaming in general being okay.

  9. If you're asking how to defeat a melee character as a ranged character, it's just a matter of the ranged character staying out of melee range and using an attack chain that over comes the melee character's mitigation. If you don't feel like rerolling another Blaster, use the second build on your character and slot damage procs in to your ranged attacks. Tanks are actually at a disadvantage compared to Brutes in the resistance category in PvP due to their diminishing return curve, so Tanks aren't very difficult to defeat in PvP environments as a Blaster. Brutes have Fury and higher resistances, but don't tend to generate much Fury in 1v1s unless using the PvP accolade.

  10. To dispel any disinformation in the thread (or before @Bopper posts the numbers himself) I thought I would repost patch notes on both powers below:

    SuperSpeed_SuperSpeed.png.c7b0740d9fa4bdf6622415eef245128d.png Super Speed (0.228 end/per sec)

    • You can run at super-human speeds! While running at such speeds, you are a blur, and many foes will not even notice you as you speed past them. As you run, you build momentum, allowing you to jump great distances, but only for a limited time. If you attack a target while this power is on, you will temporarily be slowed to normal speed. Super Speed also increases your maximum run speed by 30% and gives you access to the Speed Phase power whilst it is active.
    • Increases your run speed cap by 30% while toggled on (from 92.5mph to 120.25mph)
    • Has a new momentum leap mechanic
      • Running will build up momentum, allowing you to perform a single very high, very long jump after approximately 4 seconds of running. And jumping will cause you to expend your momentum - after landing, you'll need to remain grounded and running in order to perform another momentum jump. Super Speed's icon will gain a yellow ring when you are at maximum momentum

    SuperSpeed_SpeedPhase.png.be2bac846fa85fc6ccc538976819a9c0.png Speed Phase (0.333 end/per sec)

    • A toggle that removes collision with characters and sets you to Only Affect Self
      • This allows you to pass through enemies, allies, civilians, cars, and even the Atlas Park blimp!
      • The effects of this power (including the OAS component) will suppress if you are attacked or damaged by an enemy
      • Note: As this power doesn't actually make you intangible, it doesn't trigger (and isn't affected by) the No Phase timer

    Experimentation_SpeedofSound.png.b0a70628ecee418730de416ea7fe7fd1.png Speed of Sound (0.228 end/per sec)

    • Increases your run speed cap by 30% while toggled on (from 92.5mph to 120.25mph)
    • Grants access to Jaunt

    Experimentation_Jaunt.png.67249f39d2cb10fcf7616cb666a06e38.png Jaunt (13.00 end/per activation)

    • Click, Self Teleport. By clicking on this power and then selecting a location, it will cause the caster to vanish and reappear at their targeted location in 1 second
    • This power can be activated up to 3 times in a row before it triggers a cooldown

    Combat_Teleport.png.aea719bb22d4911ea1aa202651b0da0c.png Combat Teleport (5.571 end/per activation)

    • A quick-casting, short-ranged (100ft) teleport designed to be used in combat
    • The range of this power can be enhanced, but it cannot be buffed or debuffed by set bonuses or other powers
    • This power can be activated up to 3 times in a row before it triggers a cooldown
    • This power grants a small ToHit buff to your next attack
    • Combat Teleport emulates the feeling of Speed of Sound's Jaunt to quickly traverse the battlefield without the endurance cost burden of an active travel power

@Glacier Peak I think you misunderstood. I know the Panther transformation is available. What I was saying is that it's different from the original version available on live.

In the live version, transforming let you access a form exclusive power (Panther Stealth or something like that). The P2W version still turns you into a big cat and gives you the associated movement speed bonuses, but the stealth power has disappeared. It just no longer exists for reasons that, as far as I'm aware, have never been explained. It's not the only P2W power that's vanished in the transition from live to Homecoming.

Yeah that went over my head, cheers!

Evidently no one can go around anything in this galaxy far, far, away. I see no more reason Vader's troops couldn't have gone around the fire fast enough to catch up with the slow moving droid dragging a limp body than that Obi-Wan and Leia couldn't just squeeze around the energy barrier.

    This felt intentionally done, imo.

No, this isn't a thread about some mysterious bug so hang onto your "wrong sub-forum" replies. I saw you warming up the keyboard 😜

I'm curious about some stuff that was available on the Paragon Market in the live version of the game but didn't make it over to the P2W vendor. Or, if they did come through, were altered in some way. I'm talking about things like the Panther shapeshift (It used to grant a unique stealth power but now it doesn't), the various model replacement powers (Gone altogether), etc. None of these were game breaking. They were just neat little things that let us be more creative with our toons.

Other than the Devs just not feeling like it, does anybody know why some of the old Paragon Market items aren't available and if there are any plans to bring them back?

Make sure to uncheck "Recipes missing ingredients" in the bottom right tab then go to Prestige Powers, Travel, then the Shapeshift drop down:
