  1. I bought like 8,000 converters a couple nights in an hour, and my bids on salvage or recipes are on 100-150 of any given item at a time. I see the prices swing as I’m mid-bidding-process all the time. It doesn’t take a scheme to move the market, just regular daily activity.
  2. I definitely don’t share the “constant buffs = more fun = always good” vision because I know of no examples in which “meh, ignore balance and give everyone everything” has yielded an interesting game for me to play. That said, I don’t think anyone here is calling for nerfs. “Hey let’s buff things that actually need it” =/= “NO FUN ALLOWED NERF EVERYTHING”. Honestly I could probably get behind some slight tweaks to the Dark Miasma animation times though I hesitate because Darkness Affinity definitely needs zero buffing. Would rather buff nothing than buff Darkness Affinity. And yeah, think it’s obvious Radiation Emission is already top tier stuff.
  3. Sigh. I think we’re back in imaginary Rage RP problems level of logic. Cheers man.
  4. Supply and demand dude, prices don’t change only because of nefarious manipulation. Please tell me you understand this high school economics concept.
  5. Dunno why you have to be a noob to be wasteful and impatient
  6. If people are slowly listing less salvage and deleting more of it (I delete all uncommon salvage that I don’t craft with and know I’m not the only one), then it’s completely reasonable that a few players would raise their bids simultaneously to bypass the supply crunch and get their stuff. You’re not usually supposed to assume malice when there is no evidence of it, no?
  7. Evidence that prices are up is not evidence of manipulation. Correlation is not causation. Surely you already understand this.
  8. I don’t think we need to get rid of long animation times except where sets are genuinely needing buffs. Dark Miasma (moreso Darkness Affinity perhaps) and Radiation Emission don’t really strike me as sets that need buffs. Bitter Freeze Ray is another example of a power that can’t really afford to get better due to the surrounding set’s potency. Multiple powers from Kinetic Melee, Shout, and Incandescent Strike are examples that come to mind where the animation reduction is actually needed to bring performance in line.
  9. How do we know someone is pulling a dick move? I for one raised my bids because they needed to be higher for my money machine to keep working on schedule. Pretty harmless and normal behavior. Do we know for sure that any actual dick moves have been made?
  10. Yeah I’m sorry the idea is kinda cool at a glance but it makes way more sense to just fix the powerset. I don’t know what you are including in an IO set “for defense shields”, but defense sets/powers don’t need buffs / can’t afford to be buffed without being broken right now whether they be from Cold Domination or Time Manipulation or melee armor sets. So you need an FF-specific solution. I played my FF defender couple nights ago. Not too shabby. Makes team feel safe then blasts with proc bombs like a sentinel. I’d take some set-specific buffs though.
  11. Hey I knew prices were messed up hours before this thread started 🙂
  12. Sensing a pattern between this and Super Strength Rage. All of your problems seem easily explained away but some sort of mental block makes them still feel like problems. I just upped all my bids from 5k to 25k. Pennies, so no big deal.
  13. No comment on particular implementation ideas atm but I like the concept. Love the Elementalist class on Guild Wars 2, rapidly rotating between all 4 elements.
  14. The other option is don’t try to keep them from running at all but use Burn with the understanding that, on a Scrapper, its useful component is the initial burst…
  15. EDIT: I have tried to develop a potent counterargument to this idea because Troo is sometimes turdlike, but, alas, his proposal is airtight and I am forced to enthusiastically endorse his entire portfolio of game-related suggestions.
  16. Need is a strong word. Anyway now this has devolved into being strictly an RP problem I’m done 🙂
  17. Dunno, I can’t imagine circumstances in which I’d skip Meltdown or perma-Light Form.
  18. I do this one when I’m reeeally trying my best to make a build work without Ageless. My Rad defender and one of my Poison defenders use this slotting plus Vigor Core to make proc monster Clarion Core builds playable. Can get your end consumption down near 1/s even after 8-10 toggles or whatever.
  19. Lots of powersets have crashes that have nothing to do with the concept of rage. So, no, nothing inherently angry about the powerset besides the 4 letter word. You just need to decouple crashes and these imaginary RP rage issues in your mind and you’ll be fine. Otherwise we have lots of other sets.
  20. Right but your problem with the powerset is literally that a power is named “Rage”. Isn’t that about as [not] meaningful to gameplay, as, say, if a Katana user were to claim their light damage attack unfairly ties their character concept to the stigma of gambling addiction? The only thing that ties Super Strength to anger is the word “Rage”. Seems silly to let the name of a power keep you from playing a powerset.
  21. I just want everybody to know that I already checked: the name Amber Turd is already taken on Excelsior 😕
