  1. You're talking about the creation and addition of weapon auras. Which would be very nice to have. He is talking about taking a power set and converting it to another power set in appearance while keeping the benefits of the original power set. When power sets that already have the appearance he wants exists. There is no point to, and yes I guess I'm fixated on this, turning Plant Manipulation into an Earth Manipulation set when the AT already has an Earth Manipulation set. If he doesn't like the animations for Seismic Blast or Earth Manipulation? Then ask for alternate animations for them. Don't ask for the ability to make Plant Manipulation look like Earth Manipulation when Earth Manipulation already exists.
  2. Statement still stands. If you want to play an earth themed Blaster, there is already the Seismic Blast and Earth Manipulation power sets. I am against turning other power sets into theme matches for existing ones. Are you going to also ask for Dark Armor animations for Bio Armor? The themes you are asking for already exist. Use them. If they didn't? Sure. By all means. Ask for alternate animations. What is sorcery? It is using magic to affect the world around you. What is... say... Earth Manipulation? It is using earth-based attacks against your enemies. Is it magic? Yes, if used by a magic origin character. Is it a mutant power? Yes, if used by a mutant origin character. Is it a tech power? Yes, if used by a tech origin character. And your character's costume plays a part in selling it as a magic, or mutant, or tech, or science, or natural attack.
  3. Having the blue bars does annoy me. Greatly. And yes, when I turn xp back on, I want to level at a normal rate. I hated the addition of patrol xp back on Live. If I had been on the forums then and been aware the devs were looking at implementing it, I would have ranted emphatically about it before implementation in hopes they would at least give the option to not get it. Edit: If it helps for clarification, as I said 2 posts up, I hate get xp for doing nothing. And that is what patrol xp is. You get a pile of xp up to limit based on how long you are logged off for. Then as you earn xp, that free xp is converted to "earned" xp at a 1:1 rate. I've walked away from multiple games because they started forcing xp down my throat. At least with CoX, the patrol xp is there, but does not count to anything until you earn xp in a conventional way. It is still bonus xp, forced double xp time unless you take the time to commit suicide with your characters to burn off the patrol xp. And if you're less than 10? You can't even do that. You have to get the patrol xp. And yes, the way I play several of my characters? It takes me multiple days to get to 10. Moreso since when I log in and see blue bar xp, I turn off that characters xp until I think I've missed enough to compensate.
  4. And then players ask to be able to mix them after. No thanks. I don't care that I'm the minority on this.
  5. Well, to be fair, the Shivans that destroyed Galaxy City are flagged as Neo-Shivans after the tutorial and they are not friendly to the standard Shivans. They both come from Battalion, but for whatever reason, the fall of Galaxy City Neo-Shivans are hostile to the predecessor Shivans.
  6. You are asking for power sets in the same AT to have the same animations. No. If you want a specific style or theme and there is already a power set in that AT with that specific style or theme, use that power set.
  7. That works too. Until a bud or two just runs off to Timbuktu. Why not a combination? Buds only spawn where Hamidon was. Buds are marked on the map so that runners (that don't seem to want to go back) can be tracked down and dealt with. This way trolls can't grief the raiders and there is no question about missing buds because a quick map check will say if there is one or not.
  8. The Abyss and Hive exist solely for the purpose of fighting Hamidon. Whether you are solo and smashing Giant Monsters, on a team doing same, or on a league, you will summon Hamidon. That is those zones' specific purpose. Adding the buds is what complicated it. So add a bud counter and maybe even flag the buds on the map. That way even if someone tries to troll the raid, absolutely everyone knows there are buds and possibly where. It kills the trolls' ability to troll the raid without requiring a duplicate instance of a zone or two zones whose only purpose is Hamidon. (Edit: As opposed to the RWZ which has the MSR and multiple story arcs and TFs.)
  9. It may be toned down, but they aren't howling. At all. Which is fine with me. Thanks. Edit: Which is funny because they still do the howling animation, they just make no sounds. 🤣
  10. No badge please. Would just like to start playing when I log in on a character instead of spending upwards of 10 minutes committing suicide to get rid of bonus xp for not doing anything. If I have to pay X inf' to get it from P2W? That's fine with me. I'd be willing to pay 1,000,000 inf or so for a No Patrol XP power. Sure.
  11. There is no place to log off that does not count as a day job. If you log out somewhere that has no day job icon for it, then you are automatically logged out at the "patrol" day job location which is every location that is not a specific day job. (Edit: So regardless of whether you are at a defined day job or not, you get patrol xp while logged off.) Patrol Experience (Redirected from Patrol XP) Patrol XP shown in clear skies blue Overview While logged out in any location, characters gain credit toward the Patroller or Criminal Day Jobs (versus other Day Job Badges requiring specific log out locations), and are considered to be On Patrol. While on patrol, characters accumulate credit toward Patrol Experience. Characters can gain credit toward Patrol XP and a true Day Job at the same time by logging out in another Day Job's specific location.
  12. Can we have the option to not get patrol xp on our characters while logged off please? Sure, we can just turn off xp for our characters, but I'm weird in that I very much dislike patrol xp for my characters. To the point of spending time getting my characters killed upon initial log on until all the patrol xp is gone. Thanks.
  13. I'd like to enjoy playing my demon MMs... please provide relevant file and installation instructions. I'll take the chance with the crash as long as it is easily removed so I won't have to uninstall and re-install to recover.
  14. NCSoft is notorious for wanting ridiculous offerings for CoX. So it taking this long, and longer, does not surprise me.
  15. Sure. I don't even know how to make an .ogg file, but I'll just make one and hope I don't crash my game. (Which is a reason why I don't use any of the player made mods that are available. They tend to crash my game.)
  16. *sigh* I need to update my Mids. Again. They aren't listed. Thanks. Edit: Which brings me back to my original confusion. Why ask for earth animations for Plant Manipulation when the AT has Earth Manipulation?
  17. I get that. What I don't understand is why anyone would ask for earth animations for Plant Control when the AT already has Earth Control. Edit: Okay, I misread. It was Plant Manipulation, not Control. And I see no earth secondaries for Blasters. (Or primaries for that matter.)
  18. It doesn't make sense to me. I'm not a fan. I'm not going to argue against it though. Others are likely to want it and enjoy it.
  19. This is a minor consideration, but pretty big to me. The demon summoning set's gargoyles just don't shut up. Like ever unless there is a fight raging. If I have to turn away from the game, like to progress my 3D printer, respond to an e-mail or phone text, or deal with the other computer, the gargoyles are howling constantly. It's why I've left my demon summoning MMs abandoned. Can we please get an option to shut them up? Yes, I can use the petsay command to put them to sleep and they will be quiet. That takes up valuable power tray space as a macro though or requires I remember how to properly use the command if I don't have it set as a macro. (And if the text notice is urgent, I can't take the time to type out the command anyway.) And unlike some players, I can't stand having a screen full of power trays obstructing the game screen. (And I'm already running plenty of macros for just the character and controlling the pets during combat. The three default macros edited for my preferences, plus having just the T1s attack the target, just the T2s attack the target, just the T3, the T2s and the T3 attack, recalling wayward pets, you get the idea. However I need to split my pets or manage them to keep combat going in my favor.) A selfish ask, I know, but I'm asking anyways.
  20. There is a difference between having a robust player count running around doing things in view of new players/characters, and using a starter area for community activities. Different factions (hero, villain, loyalist, or resistance) will have different areas that would function for community events. Hero side, it is Atlas Park where new heroes are dropped off and (at least initially) learn the game. Lots of people to lean on. (Atlas Park's near constant costume contests, bio contests, and general just gathering at Atlas Plaza for whatever reason was a reason why so many players I knew never started in Atlas Park and always went to Galaxy City though, so there is that.) Loyalists have the Magisterium which serves as rally point because like with the heroes, the loyalists like to show the community they are there, in numbers, and so deter those elements that disrupt their drugged and mind policed society. So while the root reason is different, functionally the Loyalists have a starter zone gathering spot just like the heroes. Resistance have no community event or other gathering spot. All regions of the Underground are populated by mobs that want to kill you or things that want to eat you. (Not necessarily by killing you first, they just have to because of game mechanics. They can't just start eating you while you're able to fight back.) And the Resistance safe zones are less than friendly to large numbers of players doing anything as a community event. Can the Resistance players also use the Magisterium? Yes, definitely. Because players are basically both Loyalist and Resistance in the game. Either Resistance passing as Loyalist to spy on them while also doing Resistance content, or vice versa. Resistance as a side though? Has no player gathering space. Villains don't follow any of the above mind sets. The villain starter zone is not meant to be a welcoming space. So it is not conducive to community events. It is a sort of 'welcome to hell, have a nice stay' zone. Villains don't really get a space for doing anything other than content until they prove themselves. Grandville serves the same basic function as Atlas Park. Atlas Park is the heart of Paragon City, whereas Grandville is the heart of the Rogue Isles. So in that vein, Grandville with its... uhm... Lord Recluse Plaza(?) ... would be the equivalent community spot red side. However, Cap au Diable serves as the actual public face, red side's 'everyone get together and sing kumbaya' zone. Edit: Also, @EmperorSteele, the opposite of claustrophobia is agoraphobia. So you would be feeling agoraphobic. Edit again: And currently Khallisti Wharf serves best for both hero and villain side community events. An entire red-blue co-op zone with no mobs or NPCs.
  21. Red side areas suited for community use due to open space: Cap au Diable: The area under Dr. Aeon's statue could be argued as suitable. The walls mark the area where mobs don't spawn. Sharkhead Isle: The area between the ferry and AE, from the sea wall almost to the warehouse. All empty space with just a few contacts. Grandville: The platform area under/around the Lord Recluse statue could be argued as suitable. It is however, a comparatively small area with a big statue taking up floor space in the middle. Mercy Island is being contested. Longbow has successfully managed to wrest control of most of the island from Arachnos until you do the 'new' starter arcs. The lines of civilians and Longbow being interrogated or captured by Arachnos is part of Arachnos taking the island back. And this is the first time I've heard anyone call decorative plants "clutter". Edit: Also, I don't imagine Arachnos would be as tolerant of large gatherings of Destined Ones as Freedom Corps et al. are of large gatherings of heroes at Atlas plaza. The only large gathering of Destined Ones that I can think of that Arachnos was fine with, was the impromptu army you lead against Longbow to keep them from doing to Cap au Diable what they did to Mercy Island. So limiting Destined Ones' ability to gather for social events (not run by Arachnos or Westin Phipps on their behalf) would probably be a priority as a possible army of Destined Ones claiming the island they gathered on for themselves is a real possibility there.
  22. HC is not a non-profit. HC is a tolerated pirate server with a veneer of legitimacy. They are not permitted to make money. They would have to make money to hire outside agencies. They are permitted to solicit enough donations to operate the servers only. Not a penny more. This discussion has been had repeatedly. Edit: Actually this discussion was had with you, @plainguy, on the "Paying extra for improvements" thread. So by all means, resume this discussion. Get this thread locked too.
  23. There is a reason why monthly donations are capped at just keeping the servers running. There is a reason why the current dev team is all unpaid volunteers using their free time to update and fix the game. Until HC's negotiations get this game official again, it is the only way to be able to play the game.
  24. You are willfully misconstruing my statement. The buffs that have been added were not existing procs that people are demanding be incorporated for free. This request is like someone asking to have KD, a hold, or disorient added to attacks like Slash from the Claws set. You can already do that. You just have to slot the proc for it. I am completely against taking any proc and automatically incorporating it into the power sets. You want a proc that is already available for those powers to affect those powers? You slot the proc.
  25. Actually, with the Fighting Pool, all ranged only ATs can fight in melee. Boxing, Kick, and Crosspunch.
