Everyone has to make at least one Regen post
Rudra replied to Menelruin's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
You mean back when you could 6-slot heal enhancements into it and they would all give full effect because Enforced Diversification... I mean Diminishing Returns... I mean... the improvement of introducing ED made that impossible so IOs needed to be introduced to give back some of the capabilities we lost had not been introduced yet? (Edit again: So IH could be boosted to 300% effectiveness [100% base + 199.98% added).) -
Having a non-athletic look is just a texture applied to the existing model though. You go from a character that spends a lot of time at the gym (with that muscled texture we have now, or the very muscled texture that is caked into some of the costume options) to a character that doesn't really spend time at the gym (apply ACME's patented Muscle-Begone today for that softer look! *ACME not responsible for side effects from using Muscle-Begone. Possible side effects include disappearing body parts, instant fat generation, and rescission of muscle party invites. Use Muscle-Begone only as directed. Void where prohibited). Edit again: And costume options with the baked in very muscled look (barbarian) would not get the alternate texture since that would require the extra work of duplicating the costume options as well.

Suggestion: Allow damage enhancemnts on Leadership's Assault ability
Rudra replied to Cnox's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Because the damage enhancements boost the damage of the power they are slotted in. And Assault doesn't do damage. It provides a buff to damage. Edit: And re-reading @arcane's post... that is exactly what (s)he said.... Sorry. -
That comment wasn't aimed at you. It was in response to @BurtHutt. We've already hashed out a way for it to work, remember?

Not really. The Rikti wiped out magic in their home dimension. All Rikti are psychic (at least in their ability to communicate with each other). Rikti use Rikti weapons, though they could use other weapons as well if they didn't find them inferior to their own technology. Rikti actively control their racial genetics. (They start out human even in their own dimension, and are Riktified. Unwanted genetic anomalies are removed, so all adult Rikti fall into the set Rikti categories.) It is in Primal Earth with the converted Lost that you see non-Rikti abilities. Specifically the Rikti Magus who was a Lost with latent magical ability. That is why the Rikti in 2 different arcs (1 red side and 1 blue side) try to erase magic from Primal Earth. They have no defense against it (until the advent of the Magus) and they disdain magic's existence because they cannot use it. (Again, only Lost with strong latent Mu bloodlines can become Magi.) So no. Rikti are not as diverse or varied as humans. Even among the male-female line, differences are heavily attenuated. You ever see a human-like female Rikti? Because there are female Rikti, they just have no dimorphism to speak of. (Edit: They do possess sexual dimorphism to some extent, they do have males and females. Their dimorphism is just heavily attenuated.) Rikti are all about the sameness. Edit: Now for red side-blue side? Yeah. Traditionalists are typically portrayed as blue siders and Restructurists are portrayed as red siders. So sure, they can be on and even start on either side as far as I'm concerned.

Fine. Give use unathletic body textures and flabby bodies so we can make our villains then.

In this case, it matters. Edit: Whether zombies, Nemesis, or Rikti; invasions have no levels. In this case, they are specifically asking for an invasion of all level 54+ EBs. That is not the same as the ones you are citing. Edit again: And why does new content always seem to translate to new GMs or zone events? Why can't new content be something that does not require everyone and their brother (exaggeration intentional) to successfully get all elements for or just sit there wailing on a massive bag of HPs for a minute or two? Why can't new content be something more interesting like new arcs which actually takes time to do? Edit take 3: You can get the same feel as their proposed invasion using a trial, which would require the league the OP says would be needed to fend off the invasion, or with an arc that can actually take the time to explain how and why the invasion is happening, like with the Sister Solaris arc.

Add a third track/shredout for arcana where you pick up priest or magus abilities, and I'm sold. Edit: Hells, call it "Heretic" instead for being anti-Rikti since it is a Restructurist approach.

Kelly Uqua. Kel'Uqua. She is who I was citing in my comment that you are trying to remember.

Eh. If I'm going to play a Rikti, I'd rather play a Rikti. Not a character cosplaying a Rikti while wielding their non-Rikti power sets. Making an epic AT out of them shouldn't be that difficult. All their powers already exist. All the animations for said powers already exist. (Edit: Their character models already exist. )The only real hard part I can see is: populating the power sets, branching the AT into its possible shredouts, and testing it to make sure it is competitive with the other ATs without overshadowing them. I'm not a dev though. The only other difficulty I can see would be establishing Rikti contacts for the Rikti players to explain their story/journey through the game via Rikti player story arcs like the Kheldians and Arachnos get. Hells, you could start the player off as a Lost like someone said, then at trigger level, they become Rikti and follow their chosen path. Though that would make the player character a Restructurist. Or just start as a Rikti as I described, and you start off as a Homeworld Rikti that progresses through the Rikti contacts. If you are a blue sider, you are a Traditionalist. If you are a red sider, you are a Restructurist. Plot could be you are a Rikti scout surveying Earth factions for the Rikti until late game. You could even start off with a normal character look as the Rikti gene plan your appearance to not alarm the populace until level 24 or whatever, where you unlock full access to Rikti powers and weapons, and pick up your restored Rikti appearance.

Shows how much time I spend blue side.... Anyway, the level range of Grandville makes the effective time line for the character appropriate for Malta being known. They have already been exposed by that point.
-
The Roy Cooling arc is one of the things that makes me leery about adding things that changes the lore. Because his arc does show Malta early but all the other Malta content addresses their presence as a big secret you find out later. It is a lore disconnect that ruins the experience. And Grandville is a 40-50 zone, so them being mentioned in the papers there all the time is no different than Peregrine Island where the radios mention them all the time. At that point, they are a known group.

I'm with @Greycat on this. Cimerora doesn't need an event. I get people want more things in the game. I do too. However, we don't need giant monsters and events in every zone. Especially in like Cimerora which already has TWO epics already where you have to smash an entire army. Both repeatable. One in the ITF and one in the incarnate arc accessible through Ouroboros. The only other places where you have a scenario where it is you and your team against an entire army is against Reischman and the 'entire' 5th Column, and against the Banished Pantheon and Mot. I would honestly like more missions/arcs in Cimerora, but an event like what is being asked for feels like it goes against the intent of Cimerora as a player zone. And especially with the low player count I see in Cimerora, how often current invasions/events get ignored elsewhere, and how badly level 54 mobs attacking the coast town players visit to do missions would wipe out level the 35-49 players (and still developing 50s). So I'm still going to say no to this. Edit: Hells, if you just want a stone statue to fight and get a "Monumental" or whatever badge, that can be done with a level 50 arc that has the player investigating strange activity in Romulus' forces that leads to a mission where Romulus has found and is trying to use the Colossus of Rhodes or Talos (another statue, but animate and hostile to others in Greek mythology). So the last mission requires you to defeat the statue, giving you your badge, your giant stone statue enemy, and not endangering every character lower than incarnate that happens to be in the zone. It would also not affect the zone time line since it technically is neither before nor after the ITF, but is adjacent to zone lore without breaking it. Edit again: If it is important to you that it be a massive player thing, then make it a level 54-57 24-person trial instead.

Right. Silly me. Consider my comment retracted.

Uhm... I actually have a few crossbows... and I gotta say... while you may be able to fire any of them one-handed? There is no way in hell I could ever manage it with the big one. The small hand crossbow? Sure. All day. The big one? I always fire with both hands, and usually with it laying on top of a barrier or other support. I find firing a rifle much less strenuous. (Edit: A rifle has way more kick usually, but doesn't require as much effort to stabilize and fire.)
-
That's the thing though. You are asking if you can play a Rikti. So approach it with an end goal you would like to see implemented even if you think it never will be. Others will read your idea and give their feedback. Hopefully positive. And hopefully, the devs will read it and go "Hey! Neat idea! Let's try it!". So approach this thread as if you want to play a Rikti, and everyone can sit together and try to hash it out.
-
The main thing to keep in mind about a suggestion thread, is it is really looking for suggestions rather than unactionable theory. So if you want to play a Rikti? You are really asking for a new epic AT.
-
There aren't a lot of powers available to Arachnos soldiers/fortunatas. They simply get expanded powers lists to make them better than the typical Minion or Lieutenant, even rivaling Bosses. So the slots would be filled along the same lines as Arachnos.
-
If I had to guess, it would start with Rikti Soldier, which uses the basic weapons of the Rikti. Then at X level, can retrain into Rikti Mentalist like a Fortunata, a Rikti magic-user (Priest/Magus line), or go Full Soldier for boss level gear.
-
Which is fine. I like the Traditionalists too. However, the Rikti would really need to be a new epic AT with a branch for Mentalist or Weapon Rikti. Maybe even a third branch for Magus. (Edit: And Priest....)
-
That brings back the question of how the Rikti is using those powers.
-
You mean aside from the lore that says players discover the Lost are turning into Rikti not earlier than the late 20s, the Vanguard (among other forces) are looking for Rikti with signs even in the starting zones telling people to report Rikti sightings for apprehension, the availability of some weapons not accessible to players (that I know of), or the fact the Rikti don't become friendly to humanity until the 40s? Aside from that? I don't really know. Since time is fairly fluid in the game, it would be possible to justify a friendly Rikti early in the game, aside from Montague's arc. The question then becomes, how do you fit the Rikti into the lore with the power sets available? Or would they be limited to Rikti weapons like the Arachnos Soldiers? And how fun would it be to play a character that looks like every other Rikti except for armor colors?
-
If ITF triggers event, then it is after the ITF.
-
That's the part I'm worried about. Making the lore and event match.
-
We already have a big Cimeroran invasion. It is in the Sister Solaris incarnate arc. And I think there is another one too. This would just be duplication of incarnate content. Edit: Correction. This would be a hybridization of the ITF and Sister Solaris incarnate mission. (Just how many times can Romulus' forces be wiped out anyway? At least twice so far.) Edit again: Additional correction. You wipe out his forces in the ITF. You wipe out his Talons of Vengeance replacement army in the incarnate arc. So... who is left for Rommie to field?
