  1. In game appearance comes from the character saved on the server. The costume files themselves when we choose to save them for later use or reference, as far as I can tell, are saved on our hard drives. The character is saved on the server with all assigned costumes, so when we select that character on the server, all selected costume parts and colors are there on the character. I may very well be wrong, but that is how things look to me. Edit: And the reason why I say this is because for a while I was running 2 desktops. A really, really old one I just liked and my current one. I gamed on the really, really old one until it finally died. Logging into my account on the current one showed me as having zero costumes saved.
  2. Yes, it would. However, I'm not advocating for it, simply stating that would be an easier solution. Hells, back on Live, my Dark/Dark Scrapper exited an instance mission only to find Babbage right there in front of me and I immediately attacked him until the team doing the TF asked me to stop. (At which point I did and left to resume my solo missions.) So there are considerations for any option to be implemented. Edit: That is the OP's request.

  4. Probably not. Would most likely be simpler to make Babbage spawn at a set location. (Besides, if Skyway City Babbage can ignore drones, then why can't the Supa Trolls since they like to get droned by the AE building drones?)
  5. You are conflating two separate things in this discussion. The "we don't discuss other servers or what they do" itself has nothing to do with the suggestion of adding a RGB palette. That, to the best of my understanding in this discussion, is solely about the 'hey, Rebirth does this, so we should too!' part. That part can be dropped because of the whole "we don't discuss other servers or what they do". As far as the possibility of adding an RGB palette of some sort to HC's CoX? That is the part @biostem has been debating.

  8. You're missing the point. It doesn't matter if you choose to pose a suggestion for a RGB palette wheel, RGB palette sliders, or anything else. Feel free to post suggestions for UI changes. Such things have been suggested in various forms many times over the years. It is the whole "Rebirth has a nice thing maybe we ought to have it too" bit that is getting the GM response. HC doesn't look at what the other servers have/use. HC doesn't care what the other servers have/use. HC isn't those servers. And as far as the devs themselves have indicated previously, they won't be taking anything from those servers. That doesn't mean you can't find something the other servers do to be neat and ask for something similar, it just means that specifically what any other server does isn't something discussed on HC.
  9. Doesn't really help people who are color blind. I have a color blind friend locally that paints and when I asked him to paint a few things like grey concrete for me, he gave me back blue and green instead. Because to him, they looked grey. The advantage of the current colors list is if you know what the different rows are, and you can see the color gradations for the colors you can see, you can at least approximate the color you are trying for even if you can't see them yourself.
  10. You seem to be implying, from the above quotes, that fold space is a better or more preferable alternative to introducing an IO set with a set bonus that converts KB->KD. You are reading more into my comments than is there. Then players would be decrying it as a garbage set for wasting a set bonus slot on converting KB to KD unless it was a global change. In this response, with your quote as further reference, I am telling you that just like where players complain about Sudden Acceleration and Overwhelming Force, though mostly Sudden Acceleration, the player base that is currently screaming about enhancement taxes will treat a set bonus the same way. Worse even depending on what the enhancements in the set do and what the preceding set bonuses up to the KB to KD effect are. That is not in and of itself a "no" to your suggestion. It is simply feedback. This response sets my position as opposed to any attempts to make a global KB to KD effect. If the set bonus applies to just the slotted power? I'm fine with it. Depending on the enhancements that form the set and what the other bonuses are, I may even use the set. However, if the bonus is intended as a global KB to KD change? I oppose it as already stated. Aside from tactical deployment of KB effects, we do have the means available to us to counter sudden KB effects that may disrupt our teamwork. Using KB tactically is always an option, just an option that multiple players refuse to invest any effort in. There is also the option of Teleport Target. However, Teleport Target is a single target ability and does not affect a great many mobs. And then there is Fold Space. All these are options for teams dealing with KB from members. I support more such options, but I was giving an example of one such option. Reiteration of preceding clarification.

  12. Do you really think this wouldn't happen? With everything we have both seen on these forums? Options are options. Adding more options that falls in line with how the game has been made/presented is great. Including more powers that yank mobs to you. I really enjoy Teleport Target, it just doesn't work against as many mobs as I would like. Adding options that you know full well will be demanded of any player joining a team and takes away the whole point of an established game mechanic simply so the current meta group can keep facerolling game content isn't something I can support. (Edit: Especially as it has already been established that learning how to leverage KB to benefit teams is not a difficult skill to learn. It just takes a willingness to actually approach the situation tactically rather than trying to faceroll everything you see.)
  13. Given the ideas already proposed across multiple threads and that the main complaint from players complaining about KB is relevant to DPS? I disagree. (Edit: Especially since powers like Fold Space can be used to immediately yank scattered mobs back to the group.) And I'll leave it at that. Edit again: That could be a fun power set to have.... a power set that includes a few attraction powers, like a reverse KB. Make an Energy Blast/New Set Blaster that alternates blasting enemies away and then bouncing them back in. Would make for hilarious crowd control.

And I personally oppose a global set bonus or proc for converting KB to KD. Just like I oppose a Null the Gull toggle. I am firmly of the camp to make KB more appealing to the player base in general rather than trying to murder it and drop it in a forgotten ditch somewhere.
  15. And popping Strength of Will I don't have to worry about my lack of orange inspirations. (Edit: Especially since with the enhancement, it grants +11.55% to my Brutes. That's slightly better than the orange inspiration's 10%.) Let's just agree that we disagree. SoW only takes Resist sets. The scaling damage resist enhancement is in a Defense set (Reactive Defenses). Not the proc'. An attuned enhancement. They scale as your level changes. Hence "a scaling damage resist enhancement" and not "the scaling damage resist proc". (Edit again: And if you are wondering why I posted scaling instead of attuned? It's because I didn't remember "attuned" at the time I typed the post and you had already responded before I remembered.)
  16. Not sure why you put your response in my quote or why you are trying to explain Twitch partnerships to me. I don't care about Twitch, so I'm not going to weigh in on anything about it. My only intent was to clarify what I perceive as the likelihood of your request being met. I'm not arguing against you by any means, not trying to convince anyone that your request is a good or bad idea, or otherwise have any say in the matter. If the devs go "Hey! That's a great idea!"? That's fine. If it gets you more viewers if you get the sponsorship? That's fine. I don't care either way. That was not the intent of my response.
  17. Yes. Like Facebook and other social media, I don't bother with Twitch. I would also like to point out that I am not arguing against the poster, just pointing out the livestream guidelines (that I realized after the fact the poster most likely already knows since was asking about a partnership and not about streaming) and providing feedback about the request possibility. That feedback boiling down to "I don't think it will happen but that doesn't mean it won't".
  18. Are you expecting some sort of financial sponsorship from HC? I cannot see the mods/devs officially endorsing a random player... I suspect it is less about financial sponsorship and more about becoming the "official" game Twitch stream.

  20. I completely disagree. I take Strength of Will on all my Willpower characters, and I find the boost for Fire, Cold, Energy, Negative Energy, Psionic, and Toxic it gives to be very helpful in turning fights around even though the set lacks other powers that provide resistance to those damage types. Yes, Willpower relies more on defense against those damage types, but when your defense isn't keeping you from being hit, adding near Toughness levels of resist to those damage types is a definite help. Not a huge help, but a definite one. I still only leave the power at its base enhancement slot, but I don't use it as a mule. It gets a scaling damage resist enhancement slotted. And because Strength of Will's crash is so minor, I'm clicking it every time a fight gets rough. My endurance never wavers until it crashes and my endurance has finished filling before it finishes timing back in.
  21. This comes up every KB thread, so I'm very surprised this is the first you are hearing of it. The gist of it boils down to the DPS goes up because you don't have to spend time getting back into range to attack again.

  24. And I would very much like to know what player powers at base value like you are saying are anywhere near as high as 45. Please enlighten me on these powers, because I would most definitely like to start using them. Even Nova is Mag 16.617 at base value.
