    plant/?

Made my first ever Dom not very long ago to test out the AT. Happened to roll a Plant/Earth as it sounded good thematically. It. Is. fucking. amazing. That toon temporarily cured my altitis as I played her all the way to 50 and IO'd out. It was my first time using Plant on any AT and good lord it is just an amazing set. I honestly can't recommend it enough. Another option would be plant/fire as you would be a blender for demolishing large groups of enemies. Now excuse me as this conversation has forced me to go create another dom.
  2. Great responses folks I appreciate the help. Kind of a dark horse but I noticed ice also has the endurance recovery aura. Anyone have ant /Ice experience?
  3. There are certain sets that can be relatively sturdy tanks with basic IO's like invul/stone/super reflexes but they don't add to your MOAR dmg wish. Maybe something like Rad/Rad could work for you as the resist base set has some nice regen/heal plus additional AOE and the contaminated mechanic can increase dps. Shield defense gets a +dmg toggle and a nice AOE like, SS gets the rage dmg buff so maybe that combo could work well. You've got some great options! There are some super knowledgeable tanker players around here that will surely weigh in on this shortly so hang tight!
  4. How much time would you expect is involved in this process? How much would someone be able to earn for themselves if they spent the same amount of time just earning on their own terms. The way your idea is designed currently, you want people who have a good understanding of the market to do the shopping. These people would know what enhancements usually go for to avoid being ripped off and possibly have some other techniques to obtain wanted enhancements at favorable prices. These same people are probably A) already well off regarding influence and B) could likely make as much or more money in the same amount of time without the risk of not getting paid. I think the markup would need to be much higher than you are willing to pay for this to work. Even the non-optimal method of earning influence by fire farming would net people over 100 million per hour. So I'd say at a bare minimum your scenario would have to take less than an hour for anyone to consider it. @Olly mentioned something like a 50% markup would be necessary for this to work and I think that is a pretty fair assessment. Personally I kind of like building my toon over the course of a few days while I play. I usually play with basic IO's to 50 and then start the build once I get there and enjoy seeing the power spikes with each set completion.
  5. Literally just saw that post. That's what I git for not taking my time searching through other threads. Still, I appreciate your response! Was regretting not running a fore/fire blaster but I think reading some of these posts are making me feel better about my choice.
  6. Hello folks, I'm getting an itch to play energy blaster for those amazing visuals and sound effects I remember so fondly. Given all the changes since live, I am looking for a good secondary with endurance recovery toggle and that keeps me at range. The two sets that look promising to me were time and, strangely enough, trick arrow. Anyone have experience with a secondary they used on their NRG blaster and absolutely love it? Thanks,
  7. I'd love to get a peak at your current build! Struggling with how to respec my lvl 50 fire/atomic.
  8. Never farmed with a blaster but I think you need to get a lot more S/L defense. I get that you are counting on Regen to heal back the highly resisted dmg but I don't think it will work well with that low of defense. Reply to this thread if it does in fact work out as is!
  9. I've got a 50 Ice/Battle Axe :D.....Theoderic…...so fun.
  10. I don't have a Fire/SS tank myself but if you want to farm I'm sure the brute forums have some farming builds with the same power sets selected. I'd head over there and see if you can find something! Went ahead and looked myself and you are in luck sir. I'd bet you could use a build similar to those found in this thread:
  11. Yes I have encountered the same issue on my Ice/battle Axe tank. Super annoying! This isn't the only power I've experienced this one but the other offender (that currently escapes me) was unclickable for a much shorter time period.
  12. Thanks for the replies fellas. I'm still familiarizing myself with the market and working out the patterns on how to make my own way. Hearing what you guys do helps train my brain on how I should be thinking about the market and constant ebb and flow flavor of the month/week/day options. A lot of these common sense choices you folks make come from your very in depth knowledge of recipes and knowing x converts to y and takes this much salvage. I used to just farm for influence because I didn't understand the market techniques and convinced myself to just farm rather than feel like an idiot learning the ropes. Slowly getting into it and have seen first hand how the standard lvl 31 recipe converter roulette yields a much high profit for a lot less active time.
  13. I've starting looking to selling the LOTG. Do you normally buy defensive recipes and craft those with the goal of converting to LOTG? Cheapest defense set recipes were going for around 1.2 million when I checked. 3-5 conversions later you get LOTG that sells for 7+ million depending on type. SO overall takes 2-2.5 million investment to make 5million profit for me. I was wondering if there was different way to approach this.
  14. Unless you discovered a serious exploit, Yomo Kimyata is spot on with the current top earning farmers. Check the 'farm fresh builds' thread which is full of people with actual supporting data posting their build and inf/minute earnings. Top dog by the smallest margin is Rad/Fire brutes with full billion dollar builds and inspiration combining macros and they can earn around 2.28 million per minute. If you prove you can farm what you claim in the time you claim, I'll throw a billion influence your way with this thread as my witness! Mostly because I'd only be an hour and a half away from getting it back 😉
  15. I thought WIllpower was something like Regen 2.0. Can a Willpower tanker not achieve the same levels of regen as a regen brute?
  16. The tips for farming at level 49 are for increased influence gains compared to level 50, not an increased experience gain. AFAIK to maximize xp gains once you ding 50, you have to fight level 54 enemies.
  17. This is it right here. Also brutes and scrapper damage output is very similar when a brute's fury meter passes a certain threshold (which it does when farming). So a brute is the best farmer as far as standard AE farming goes because: Taunt auras High Damage High damage resist cap (equal to tanks at 90% while scrappers only get 75% cap)
  18. Just finished my Katana/Ninjitsu build and it's soft capped to all positionals and has over 60% resist to Smash and lethal. I can run +4/8 solo treading mindfully. I'm satisfied with the performance but ther is definitely room to tweak it to maximize it even more.
  19. Got my plant/stone Dom to 50 last week and I absolutely loved it (was my first Dom as well). After playing with the the powers in both sets I think Boogaloo is spot on with Plant and for stone I think must have powers no matter what you are focusing on stone are: stone spears (mandatory), Heavy mallet, and Seismic. Getting a mix and match of the other powers depending if you are team/solo and aoe/single target is your next play. None of the aoes are amazing but if you are just farming big groups solo then I would absolutely take Fissure/mud pots/Tremor. I took power boost because I love being able to chain that with the hold synergy between Seismic smash and the plant ST hold for AV fights. Regarding your direct questions about needing X amount of attacks, you can absolutely have A rotation without all the attacks but you might want to focus on having THEE rotation (optimal). Without number crunching I think having seismic, heavy mallet, stone mallet and stone spears is all you need. I'm not a fan of hurl boulder because the animation time and unless im solo farming tremor animation is rough too. General all purpose build I think you could skip Tremor/hurl and if you want powerboost. Having said all that, try out all the powers and then use some of those /respecs! Combo is super freaking fun and I can see it being able to team and solo farm effectively once fully built!
  20. Anyone have any obvious tweaks that would buff up some of my weaknesses on my current build? I like Ice thematically but It doesn't seem all that beefy. 24. Almost 50 om my Plant/Earth and was poking around the forum for builds. Looks pretty good from my non-expert point of view. Great powerset that I am enjoying immensely! I think I took invis pool over combat jumping but I did go with Ice epic pool as well. Seems to fit well.
  25. I don't think you will have much luck with that request simply because that would be a less than ideal AT and powerset combo to farm with. Having said that, farming equates to maxing resists and defenses to a specific damage type and then having a lot of aoe abilities on short rotations. So figure out what types of enemies you will be farming and then build your resist/defenses up toward it as much as possible. Then build for damage and ability recharge to kill as fast as possible. Good luck!
