  1. My first impression is that at best they will be equal to brutes but they will more likely be slightly less efficient. But why not make 1 any way just too see!? You can even make a second account and PL with your current farmer.
  2. I recently made this combination thinking it would be amazing to capitalize on the scourge inherent. All those big rain DoT abilities, Tornado, lightning storm. Without knowing all the fine details of how the mechanics math out, I just assumed the plethora of abilities that deal constant damage really work great for corruptors. I like what you've done what that build above and I might give that a shot once I hit 50!

  4. Honestly the graphics pass the "good enough" threshold for me as well. The abilities and related effects look amazing to me. The way energy blasts look/feel/sound or uppercutting someone through the air. Earth controller's immobs and holds. It all looks great to me. The only things that look flat out bad are details like block hands and I never am looking at that when I play. I'm sure the magical memories of this game cause some forgiveness in the graphics department, but they don't bother me in the slightest.
  5. No the UI scale slider is different. My old toons can adjust the Window slider still but my new ones can only adjust this UI scale you speak of. The reason it is a problem is because the UI slider overlaps across my entire account, meaning if I make a new character, adjust the UI slider to where I like it, then later log one of my older characters, SHIT IS HUGEEEE and overlapping all over the place. I would love a fix as well.
  6. About to hit 50 with this combination! have by chance put together your ideal build for this combo yet? After reading your responses you have a tremendous understanding of the powersets and I think I would be hard pressed to have someone better put a build together on this!
  7. Budget version of your most recent build. Did this mostly for me so I can access it from another location haha. Thanks for the great write-up! 8. My only two farmers are a spines/fire and rad/fire. Frostweaver pretty much hit the nail on the head with his post. If this is your first farming character I would highly recommend spines as it performs better at a budget level (no purples). Also, I leveled both of them through AE farming and the spines was able to farm much more effectively during the leveling process.
  9. WOOO I got you bastards this time! Been trying to allude me for months! NOW YOU HAVE MY MONEY AND THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT. <3333
  10. Hello All, Please take a look at this build for a Fire/Kin Controller. Is this type of build where I rely exclusively on defense viable? Anyone who runs this type pf build have any real playtime experience on how it holds up. I fear that in a group setting that 1 random attack happens to get through and I disappear of the face of the earth. Note: the last 2 slots would go into ice storm to have that 6 slotted (pines wouldn't let me put them on their for some reason). 11. Awesome stuff, you all are just great human beings super heroes
  12. Alright I took your Rad/Fire Build and replaced all the purple sets for folks that might want a less intimidating build. Still pricey for someone starting out but cheaper by probably half a billion. Resist is capped still and fire defense is <1% below cap at 44.2%. I'm willing to bet that with healing flames folks would still be able to farm without purples, but I'd have to play it to know for sure. If someone sees an easy way to make up that last little bit of defense go ahead and tweak and post the build! Thanks. http://www.cohplanner.com/mids/download.php?uc=1463&c=657&a=1314&f=HEX&dc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really don't know how to export the build to it looks beautiful like previous posts. If someone tells me how I will gladly post with a better format.
  13. Lots of great information here, inspired me to start up a Rad/Fire brute over the weekend (Got her to 50 yesterday!). I had a questions about how you slot enhancements as a fresh 50. Obviously these builds are REALLY expensive with a lot of purple sets. Would you recommend just slotting the basic IO's and farming with that until you can flat out afford the purples or would you maybe look for cheaper IO sets to fill powers and then work towards purples? I mean I'm just thinking about how long it will actually take to farm for my build and whether or not I want to dump in countless hours to get a my farmer build strong, AND then farm countless hours to funnel influence to other characters. At the pinnacle of farming you can get get 5 purples and hour. So me being in nothing by basic IO's probably farm wayyy slow. I've been doing +3/8 with bosses and it's pretty slow. Do you have any intermediate type builds for the Rad/Fire brute that doesn't use purples. I figure if I can spend 60 million or so to increase my farm time to 80% of optimal, this would be a net gain overall (i'm lazy and not going to crunch numbers.) What did you do on your first farming character when you hit 50 regarding enhancements? I'd love maybe a section in the OP of budget builds for the most common builds. M3z has a video on spines fire and you could use his budget build showcased in the video for a start! Really appreciate this thread, thanks!
  14. Got bored with my spines fire so I'm leveling a Rad/Fire right now (through comic con farm). It felt slow until you unlocked the final PBAOE attack from Rad, now it is disgusting. I'm running +4/8 without bosses at level 34. Just have 6 purples on me to start and the rest reds. 3 purps take you to defense cap and resistance is already capped. +1 to rad/fire
  15. I appreciate your response. I did build this guy with the idea of being a true tank in the sense that I figured I would not be dealing much damage and was just going to soak up everything thrown my way. Picking up all the attacks to make the combo system work just kinda caught me off guard. Oh well I am going to stick it out (probably my favorite costume I've made so far) and hopefully someone smarter than I can grace me with a decent build for tanking any endgame content.
  16. Anyone want to throw a pines build together that soft caps defense types. For Dark I take everything but cloak of fear and for Street Justice I take everything but combat readiness, power pools are boxing/tough/weave, super jump, hasten (not sure if I need this), and no idea for epic power pool. I'm thinking whatever helps slot for some defensive gaps. I've been playing with some dark/ build I find all over the internet but just can't seem to get it right. Any feedback is appreciated! Edit: This is the current iteration of my build, critique away! http://www.cohplanner.com/mids/download.php?uc=1622&c=747&a=1494&f=HEX&dc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
  17. Hello all, Finally made my firsts tank (woooo) and I decided on going with Dark/SJ. I feel like thematically it works as a vigilante type of character with darkness creeping into the mental state justifying dishing out my own version of "justice." I'm mid 30's at this point and I'm just not 100% sold on the SJ. I mean the animations are great, but I feel like I have to take a bunch of the attacks, which kind of makes me feel like i'm pushing for damage, at which point my brain starts going "you should have made a brute." Any opinions on the synergy or lack thereof with a dark/SJ tank and weather the combo would be better served on a different AT? Also whats the deal with the 2 dark aoe auras, should I be taking both, 1, or none. Neither can lockdown tough enemies and I think 1 has a -acc to baddies so my gut says pick only that 1 up. Any general guidance on my choices is appreciated folks, you all rock (oh god should I have went stone jk)? Update: Alright I'm going to keep him a tanker. I'm enjoying playing him and ultimately that is good enough despite the possibility of the combo being better served on a diff AT. Now if anyone wants to help with an end game build I've posted my current goal below! If you pass by Omidas on Excelsior say hi 😄
  18. So if I choose to utilize this (which I freaking will this sounds amazing) I would have to have double the amount of enhancements because you cant redistribute the ones in build 1 into build 2? Awesome information here!
  19. This is an absolute amazing write up and I just wanted you to know it helped me immensely! You put a tremendous amount of time and effort and it has not gone unnoticed! Thank you!!!!!
  20. Thank you both for responding I really appreciate it!!!
  21. Bumping this because I really need some help!
  22. Hello all, I have searched high and low for any build for Staff/WP scrappers and have had 0 luck. I downloaded Pines and am trying to figure out how to make my own build but I'll be the first to admit, I am awful at it currently. Can someone throw together a decent level 50 build for a Staff/WP scrapper in pines for me. I'm not looking for all purple, spend a billion+ influence to get. I just want a decent set with good resits/defense that doesn't leave me faceplanting all day. I'm fine with yellow/orange enhancements but whatever you can throw together without too much trouble would be great. Was thinking fire for ancillary for more AOE but if you know a different set makes capping def/resist easier than I'm all for it. Figure SJ or SS for travel power since I'm assuming haste and combat jumping are being picked up. Thank you in advance!
  23. Hello all, I am still pretty new to set IO's and am not yet savvy enough to figure out how to make my own builds. Is there a general way that corruptors should be using IO's? For example should they aim for ranged softcap over resistance softcap? I would like to get to the point where I can identify what my particular character would benefit from the most and then know which sets help accomplish that job. Does anyone know of some guide or post that exists to help me get the in depth understanding I seek? For the record I'm running a water/time combo and was unsuccessful finding any builds for this.
  24. Amazing post good sir! As someone just getting into enhancements, this is extremely helpful. Even better, any time I want to reroll another character I can just mail these to my global handle and claim them on the new guy once I hit the appropriate level! In your opinion, do you think it's best to buy the the All-Around-Good IO's as soon as you can or is there a threshold level you believe gives the most bang for your buck (example waiting 5 levels from first available to get a large boost in effectiveness while nearly maximizing time used during leveling). Thanks!
