  1. Are any of the enemies we fight old enough to get these references? I mean, how long ago did Radio Shack stop selling electronics? Edit: I suppose Nemesis and Lord Recluse might be old enough.
  2. From the Spice, because they don't do interspace navigation in City of Heroes.
  3. It's right there in the title. You just need to run one task force for every day or play using a dance pad instead of a mouse. I'm sure you've got one already. (For next week's challenge, dust off your guitar hero controllers)
  4. Until I can slot taunt in my blaster's AoE attacks instead of damage sets, there will never be an ideal pick-up group experience.
  5. It stands for Snail Tart.
  6. Would you believe that I owned a copy but never made it out of the character creator in the first eight years?
  7. My guess is that P2W Vendor could give new players the impression that you had to pay real money for stuff, scaring them away from interacting with it.
  8. https://midsreborn.com/ They have their own subform too. https://forums.homecomingservers.com/forum/74-forum/
  9. These are all pretty common questions and I'm here to be as helpful as possible* with answers. The Lost are from the future that's why they're warning people that "you'll soon be like us" They're getting their weapons scavenging Rikti warships in the future after Vanguard has been defeated and no one is standing guard over crash sites. The Skulls aren't really a death cult, they're a cult of worms. They undergo a transformation that turns them into invertebrates, the only bone they have left afterwards is their skull. The drug they deal is called Spice. It's a Dune reference. That's why the badge for defeating 50,000 of them is titled "Walk Without Rhythm" Dr. Vahzilok isn't hard to understand: There are currently no laws protecting the rights of the dead. Technically, the dead are property, so if you can prove the identification of a corpse, you can sue whoever is defiling it, but if a corpse cannot be identified (because it's disfigured or wearing a mask, like all of the Vahzilok) then it has no protects. So Dr. Vahzilok exploits this for free labor. Since he's based in Paragon, he gets to label all of his products with "Made in the USA". When you finally face him, he's on a golden throne, surrounded by jewels. *I may have overstated my desire to be helpful.
  10. Fun shirts, but that LOve Tank shirt looks like a button. Oh man, do I looove buttons!
  11. This is Count Notta Vampire. He's a CPA from Des Moines who moved the the Rogue Islands to study tax structures there for business purposes.
  12. It's recursively named. S.T.A.R.T Trades Auxiliary Rewards Technology
  13. And sopping wet, covered in green fluid. Edit: Or is the liquid clear and the glass is green?
  14. That said, there are characters that handle running around somewhat unslotted better than others. My first character to fifty on this server was a Radiation/Radiation tank and I got on fairly well with minimal slotting up until I had fight the ballista guy in the Rikti War Zone arcs. (I still won that fight, it was just a slog)
  15. I didn't think scrappers got Granite form.
  16. The drop requirements for reward merits are a lot more lax than the drop requirements for badges. I'm pretty sure that, as long as you do one point of damage, you qualify for the reward merits.
  17. That's a mids reborn block. https://midsreborn.com/ When it comes to Regeneration, you typically want to slot for recharge to Instant Healing and Dull Pain up faster. Maybe even perma-hasten. When choosing set bonuses, it's a bit easier to build for defense than resistance, and since Luck of the Gambler has the +7.5% recharge bonus enhancement, building for defense will also help you get more recharge. They've altered how defense works. Where it used to be that almost every attack had either smashing or lethal typing as well as elemental or energy typing, now each attack has at most two associated tags, one positional and one typed. So where Greater Ice Sword used to be Melee, Cold, Lethal, and having 45% Smashing/Lethal defense would help against it, now it's just Melee, Cold and will entirely ignore Smashing/Lethal defense. The other thing they're doing now is changing up enemy groups. Where council used to be mostly smashing/lethal damage, they have now added a lot of negative energy damage. All of this is just to say that it's hard to decide where to focus your defense building. Touch of Fear is AoE now, but only the damage is AoE, the fear and the to-hit debuffs are still single target only.
  18. The reason I'd be wary about paring Katana with a typed defense like Invulnerability, Stone, or Energy aura is that Golden Avalanche stacks really well with positional defenses but kind of poorly with typed defenses.
  19. This is most definitely not the game for no math. There is, however, no meth. Which is an easy mistake to make. Just Superadine, Excelsior, Shift, Rage, Fixadine (not to be confused with fixadent), and Warshadesmax.
  20. You're not wrong. It's a fence post problem. The game is launched in April 2004, that is the launch date. On April 2005, the game celebrates its first anniversary. This year marks twenty years since the game has launched but only the 19th anniversary. Edit: Actually, I'm not 100% sure that I'm not committing an off by one error here.
  21. Oh, my Savage/Willpower stalker does have Hemmorhage, but rarely uses it. The biggest problem with Hemmorhage is that you want it for the crit but it's really hard to have five stacks of frenzy and an opportunity to crit.
  22. I skipped all attacks that consume blood frenzy on my Fire/Savage Melee. I enjoy it, but I suppose I have burn to make up for the lack Shred.
  23. Honestly, Willpower is one of those sets that's just hard to get wrong. However you end up slotting it, you'll probably end up with something playable. The trick is figuring out which Energy beam attacks you like.
  24. Slot the Might of the Tanker +resistance proc into Storm Kick.
