I'm almost certain that Afterburner was on the live servers and both Gadgetry and Utility Belt were still in development afterwards. I think that Gadgetry and Utility Belt are still in development now. I remember a post about the first page 7 test build where Gadgetry was accidentally available for players to select.

With the change from Time Bomb to Temporal bomb, I need to change my build. The question I'm stuck with is "what do I drop to pick up Temporal bomb" My options are: Tactics: This has five slots slots so I wouldn't have to free up any other slots. Triage Beacon: Also five slots and I don't think I'd notice it missing for probably 95% of play. Trip Mine: It's fun, but I've only really used it to surprise Duray and Nightstar. Summon Disruptor: I'm like, 80% sure it's reporting all of my activities to Arachnos.
-
Well, you know what they say: "There's no hell crueler than the one that you make yourself for Snarky."
-
Well, the problem with the Brute is that you neglected your secondary. Your mastermind, I don't play masterminds a lot, but seems like you've neglected most of your summons, and I have played Nature I do feel like you shouldn't need Aid Self or Aid Other. The arachnos soldier, you didn't neglect your defenses, that's good, but you absolutely should not have six slots in combat training: Defense and you have almost no slots in your attacks. There are also ways to get knock-back protection. On your current build, it'd be easy to throw a Karma: Knockback protection in Combat Training: Defense and a Steadfast Protection: Knockback Protection in Wolf Spider Armour.

In his teens it wouldn't have been Kuh'Rekt. I can't think of any mission to get Positron in the teens, even if he shows up in a Mayhem Mission, Steel Canyon is 20-25. There is the Shining Stars arc in the teens and I can see confusing Proton for Positron, but I think those guys downgrade to lieutenants. The New Praetorians have a bunch of missions against the council, so you'd have hit Maestro, the Nosferatu guy whose name I forget at the moment, the woman at the end of Moonfire.
-
With the "just about all the story line quests ended with fighting these." and level 40, I'm definitely convinced these are all downgraded AVs. Blueside 35-40 is where you start getting these arc ending archvillains. It's where I had to start putting a team together to finish arcs on my Dominator.

I'm pretty sure I solo'ed the "Nemesis Invades Atlas Park" mission set for "No Bosses" at x8 and got Fake Nemesis Lieutenents still. Honestly, with the Brute, I'd say you've slotted your offense too heavily and you should have invested some in defense. Regeneration is kind of thought of as the worst Brute secondary and you can't neglect it like that. If you want to neglect a secondary, I'd recommend Bio Armour or Radiation Armour.

Just for the heck of it: a Poi power set

It's a taro based paste. -
Everything I said was directed entirely at Rudra and your response is kind of nonsensical because of that. Hence the "a few decades" because Arcane casters have been a thing since at least third edition (with Arcane Lore meaning "Lore having to do with magic" since at least "The Complete Bard's Handbook" for AD&D published in 1992). Edit: It does talk about Wizards learning arcane languages in the core AD&D rule book, but that's arcane in the sense of archaic, esoteric, or lost languages. Languages that are really uncommonly spoken in current times.
-
I'm guessing you used the Merriam Webster dictionary. But language is use and City of Heroes has strong Dungeons & Dragons influences and there "Arcane Casting" has a very distinct meaning. Perhaps "Occult Casting" would have been better, but we're a few decades late to that discussion.

Yeah, there are definitely similarities. I suppose the difference would be the reasons for the trip. In a low level Incursion From Above, a group of Power Division Initiates could gather because the Resistance delved too deep and too greedily and encountered Devouring Earth they shouldn't have, and they've been sent to investigate what happened to the the police that had gone to arrest them. The Resistance would have a side mission of recovering supplies, the loyalists would have a side mission of collecting records. Edit: Imagine a whole room full of of Geode Shards, like tiny parody of the final chamber of the Eden trial.

Well, the recharge time of combat teleport is fast enough that the Chance for build-up is going to be kind of unpredictable, though I haven't done my reading there, and it could be that since it has three uses per recharge, it might have three times the proc rate that you'd expect from something with a recharge of six seconds. That said, I'd still rather have the chance for build-up in Build-up. My critique of the build is actually pretty similar to Striker Fox, but you and I have a different build philosophy, so I don't really feel entirely justified in any criticism I might be tempted to give.

They Hydra are in Primal Earth because the Rikti brought them there, that's why you fight them after the Lost. If you're fighting some big monster in Praetoria, it'd make more sense for it to be Devouring Earth. Honestly, the whole thing could just be devouring earth. You start with some devouring earth infected robots as you clear your way down to spore beast that you have to defeat so that the nearby shield generator doesn't drop entirely. Edit: A spore cloud would also explain why a big name wasn't taking care of it. You send some disposable new guys because you don't want to have to fight an infested Anti-Matter when you could just be mopping the floor with an infested Reese.

It depends on what you're really wanting to do as a tank. Electric Armour has a fair amount of regeneration, but no defense. Pairing it with Dark Melee gets you a bit of -to-hit and some healing, but Divine Avalanche is a solid 15% melee defense even if it doesn't stack with itself (it refreshes duration instead). So really, either way is a good pairing to increase your sturdiness. Edit: The downside of Dark Melee is pretty much the animations, but both Dark Melee and Katana are heavily left handed attack sets.

5th Column vamps no longer count for badge?
Major_Decoy replied to Jimpy's topic in General Discussion
I don't know, you say vamp, I hear "repeat ad nauseam" I mean, I can, but I hope you're happy with the bass line for Chameleon. -
For Super Reflexes specifically the sorcery pool is very nice. Spirit Ward is a good mule for Preventive Medicine: Absorb and Mystic Flight is good for Winter's Gift: Slow Resistance. Then you've got Rune of Protection open.

Yeah, Spectral Terror is perhaps the control I use most often when soloing and it'd just feel like the enemies were afraid of me if it looked like me. It wasn't until I went back to test server to play around on my Illusion dominator that I remembered why my Illusion dominator was still sitting around in the tutorial on live. Phantasm and Spectral Terror are kind of concept braking when they're just so generic looking.

It has a different name. All 10% recharge bonuses are Ultimate Improved Recharge Time Bonus, and that power will stack up to 5 times. The 7.5% recharge bonus from Basilisk's Gaze is named Huge Improved Recharge Time Bonus and that power will stack up to 5 times. The 7.5% recharge bonus from Luck of the Gambler is named Luck of the Gambler: Recharge Speed and that power will stack up to 5 times. Thunderstrike has a six piece bonus +2.5% Ranged Defense named Moderate Increased Ranged/Energy/Negative Energy Def Bonus. Superior Winter's Bite has a five piece set bonus +2.5% Ranged Defense named Ultimate Increased Energy/Negative Energy/Ranged Def Bonus. Despite the fact that they both give +2.5 Ranged Defense, you can stack 5 Thunderstrike with the Superior Winter's Bite bonus because they have different names and are thusly treated as different powers.

Oddly, still less creepy than running up to someone and saying "I vant to shuck your corn"

The show Lucifer is very very loosely based on... I want to say a Neil Gaiman comic for DC.
-
There's a fair amount of overlap. It's more common in the DC universe. At least one Supergirl was an angel, Raven is kind of a demon. With the time period this game launched in, a fair amount of comic book fans would have been Spawn readers. There are whole comic book series where the "heroes" are all either demons or angels.

I have fold space six slotted for knock-back. Edit: No, I don't. I have wormhole confused with Fold Space.

Kinetic Melee: A Gimmicky Proposal
Major_Decoy replied to Monos King's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
This one is kind of a problem. If you can't slot it for an enhancement bonus then it can't benefit from Alpha Enhancements. Hamidon enhancements use the same code. IOs use different code. If a power takes sets and is effected by Recharge time bonuses, then it will have its recharge time reduced by the /recharge bonuses in sets even if you can't slot /recharge. So you'd be free to say "Can't be slotted for recharge but can be slotted with to-hit sets" and that would allow recharge time reduction, but it would still be entirely immune to the Alpha slot recharge reduction bonuses. (though not to Ageless) That being said, why a 2 minute recharge (Unenhanceable)? A toggle doesn't start recharging until after it's been turned off, so if it has a 1 minute maximum duration, you'd need 100% recharge reduction to have it up 50% of the time. 200% recharge reduction would give it a 40 second recharge and it'd be up 60% of the time. 300% recharge reduction: Up 60 seconds, down 30 seconds, 66% uptime.- 66 replies
