  1. That said, there are characters that handle running around somewhat unslotted better than others. My first character to fifty on this server was a Radiation/Radiation tank and I got on fairly well with minimal slotting up until I had fight the ballista guy in the Rikti War Zone arcs. (I still won that fight, it was just a slog)
  2. I didn't think scrappers got Granite form.
  3. The drop requirements for reward merits are a lot more lax than the drop requirements for badges. I'm pretty sure that, as long as you do one point of damage, you qualify for the reward merits.
  4. That's a mids reborn block. https://midsreborn.com/ When it comes to Regeneration, you typically want to slot for recharge to Instant Healing and Dull Pain up faster. Maybe even perma-hasten. When choosing set bonuses, it's a bit easier to build for defense than resistance, and since Luck of the Gambler has the +7.5% recharge bonus enhancement, building for defense will also help you get more recharge. They've altered how defense works. Where it used to be that almost every attack had either smashing or lethal typing as well as elemental or energy typing, now each attack has at most two associated tags, one positional and one typed. So where Greater Ice Sword used to be Melee, Cold, Lethal, and having 45% Smashing/Lethal defense would help against it, now it's just Melee, Cold and will entirely ignore Smashing/Lethal defense. The other thing they're doing now is changing up enemy groups. Where council used to be mostly smashing/lethal damage, they have now added a lot of negative energy damage. All of this is just to say that it's hard to decide where to focus your defense building. Touch of Fear is AoE now, but only the damage is AoE, the fear and the to-hit debuffs are still single target only.
  5. The reason I'd be wary about paring Katana with a typed defense like Invulnerability, Stone, or Energy aura is that Golden Avalanche stacks really well with positional defenses but kind of poorly with typed defenses.
  6. This is most definitely not the game for no math. There is, however, no meth. Which is an easy mistake to make. Just Superadine, Excelsior, Shift, Rage, Fixadine (not to be confused with fixadent), and Warshadesmax.
  7. You're not wrong. It's a fence post problem. The game is launched in April 2004, that is the launch date. On April 2005, the game celebrates its first anniversary. This year marks twenty years since the game has launched but only the 19th anniversary. Edit: Actually, I'm not 100% sure that I'm not committing an off by one error here.
  8. Oh, my Savage/Willpower stalker does have Hemmorhage, but rarely uses it. The biggest problem with Hemmorhage is that you want it for the crit but it's really hard to have five stacks of frenzy and an opportunity to crit.
  9. I skipped all attacks that consume blood frenzy on my Fire/Savage Melee. I enjoy it, but I suppose I have burn to make up for the lack Shred.
  10. Honestly, Willpower is one of those sets that's just hard to get wrong. However you end up slotting it, you'll probably end up with something playable. The trick is figuring out which Energy beam attacks you like.
  11. Slot the Might of the Tanker +resistance proc into Storm Kick.
  12. So, you can never reduce an enemy below a 5% chance to hit and an even level minion will have a 50% to-hit chance (without any other bonuses). So soft cap for normal content is 45% defense. Incarnate level content is different. They have a higher base to hit chance. If I remember correctly, the soft cap for incarnate content is 59ish% (maybe something like 58.5%?) Then there's the 1-4 star difficulty settings. Certain task forces offer higher difficulty setting with higher buffs for the enemies. Four star difficulty setting enemies get +30% to-hit buffs, so the soft cap becomes +75% I think generally the most survivable sets for Super Reflexes are considered to be Dark Melee for the heal and to-hit debuffs and Radiation for the heal. Edit: Resistance caps for Scrappers are 75%
  13. There are probably a number of invite only chat channels that see a fair amount of use, but if it's just about wanting to talk to strangers while you play, most people feel like General chat is fine and they don't need a special purpose channel.
  14. If you're building with the Set Enhancements, you can slot two absorb procs (one Tank, one Healing), a number of regeneration buffs, and a couple of healing procs (Panacea, Power Transfer) and all that helps make up for lack of a heal. I've got a Shield/Street Justice tank that plays fine, I enjoyed my Psionic Melee/Shield Defense stalker (very sturdy), and I've played both Shield Defense/Martial Arts and Martial Arts/Shield Defense (I didn't like the way the animations worked together on Shield Defense/Martial Arts, but I'm pretty happy with Martial Arts/Shield Defense) I have not tried Shield Defense/Energy Melee, but I'm sure it'll be fun. It's really hard to go wrong with Shield Defense. It is a great set.
  15. I thought the base used to be .78 end/sec Edit: yeah, if you go to City of Data and change your settings to show Cryptic instead of homecoming values, it shows the cost of Focused Accuracy to be .78 end/sec
  16. As long as animations aren't locked to specific origins, I don't think this is necessary.
  17. With the changes to how defense works, I'm not sure that pushing for soft-capped Smashing-lethal damage is really worth it anymore. Where it used to be that an attack that did both smashing and fire damage would check against either fire or smashing defense, whichever was higher, now attacks only have one typed defense they check against. Smashing/Lethal defense was valuable because almost all attacks had either one or the other but that's no longer the case.
  18. Comic book characters do not delineate nicely into archetypes, they all have to meet the story being told. Antman has mastermind like aspects. He can, at times, command ants. Multiple Man has mastermind like aspects. The Living Doll is full of tinier men.
  19. I don't think East Germany would really do anything to improve Bane Spiders.
  20. Oh, right. Then, yes, not a problem.
  21. I think this would make it difficult to use in certain Archvillain fights.
  22. I was wondering if there was any chance to speed up Poison Dart. I don't know if there's anything wrong with it, per se, it just seems really slow whenever I use it.
  23. After all her experience with Mind Control gone bad, Mother Mayhem, and the events leading to her death, I could understand if she kind of gave up on it when she came back. The harder to explain part would be giving up on Force Fields.
