  1. I'm not trying to start a scuffle in the fun teaser thread, but is this a widely held opinion? If not..
  2. Pistols if you're gangster. 🔫 Rad if you're sick. 🤢
  3. They were gonna do Mace and Axe, but they ran out of time so now they're combining it into: Max Melee.
  4. I read this as "I'll go back in time and take a look at Valeria." And I was like. "Excuse me but, Ouroboros isn't real."
  5. So when do we find out that the purple clone teased in The Freakish Lab of Dr. Vahzilok and Dr. Aeon Strike Force is a Penny Yin-derived, Omega-level Paragon Protector (who of course goes insane and we have to stop)?
  6. I'm really excited about the new Rune Blast and Wall Manipulation Blaster sets.
  7. Okay, not that I disagree with you, or think anything would change if these Blueside TFs were mirror-imaged on Redside, but..... This is a bit of a false equivalence because all of the TFs you listed are run for accolade badges. The only SF that is needed for a Redside version of the same is RLSF, which does get run fairly frequently (though to your other point usually sped run). If Redside SFs had the same utility for accolades we might see more people running them. Also: Posi 1&2, there's no Redside equivalent for the levels of these TFs. At the very least players who wanted to zip up to the early 20s would have that level track option on Red with a two-part SF that started at level 8. I see (and form) Mortimer Kal SFs fairly often- way more often than its level-range equivalent Admiral Sutter TF. I think this is because MKSF is faster to run with a better reward, and that's about it.
  8. I think the idea is, since you have to be a Rogue when taking the mission, is that regardless of the choices you make in those previous instances you're still a known bad guy to the cops. Striving to do the right thing and shrugging off the slings and arrows of law enforcement is archetypically heroic. ... Unless of course you show your true colors at the last moment and beat them to a bloody pulp?
  9. I agree with Betty, a Brute is a great first try character that will feel strong without advanced knowledge of how the game performs. Don't worry about getting over-invested in the "wrong" choice early on. It is trivially easy to get max level or make a lot of money in-game. I would not recommend starting with a Scrapper or Tanker, though both are great. The reason why is Scrappers need access to certain power enhancements (ATOs) to really unlock their potential and Tankers start with frustratingly few damage attacks at low levels. Leave these choices for later, when you understand the game better. As for powers, there's a ton. A good secondary that won't let you down is Willpower. Not a lot to manage, allowing you to focus on your attacks and learn the flow of combat. And by chance a relatively recent melee powerset comparison used Willpower as the control group secondary so you can get a good read on what powers should pair best with WP (when fully built, at max level, of course). Bonus if you fall in love with the character, the player who did the study linked all their builds in the Excel sheet. On which Shard to play: I can't speak for Excel but if population is key, I would imagine more European players and US night owls would be present there than Everlasting. That said, I play on Everlasting myself and there are a fair few there as well.
  10. Think of it as job security for Heroes.
  11. I wouldn't mind an draw option that let you pull out whatever NPCs use for their powers, even if it was locked to specific weapons models, with just a basic AR on the character's back. If you want to have a low tech Punisher type character who carries around a Doom 2's inventory worth of separate firearms it would be perfect for that.
  12. I saw that and Windows 8 and thought "who hurt you?"
  13. I still hold annual vigils about this. If I recall the arguement against the change was something akin to "if we accept this compromise as the fix we will never get the devs to truly give Super Strength the rework it needs." .. ..... Three years years on now. Makes me so mad I wanna roll a Storm/Sonic blaster.
  14. Luckily this critical shortfall has been addressed in Page 6. Rest easy.
  15. Good news for an AU concept where Recluse has the sword.
  16. Interesting badge but now there's this weird tension between Roebuck and I when I vendor stuff in Ouro.
  17. Thanks! I did discover this later and felt kinda silly.
  18. Well since this thread exists, I'm gonna hijack it. Looks like we missed this bit during beta testing.
  19. I dig it. 80%? Not sure. A lot by a wide margin. I vastly prefer it to blue side, but sometimes find it less motivating or engaging than Praetoria. Unfortunately most of the best stuff in my opinion caps out in Nerva. St. Martial loses me with every revolving around the Golden Giza (who cares about the Giza, I want to rob the freaking Giza, not help the people who work there). Grandville has plenty of good stories but also plenty of other ones that seem out of place in an endgame content zone. But all my favorite stories are Redside, with the exception of Guardian of Forever. The Puget Sound Spring weather is way too overdone. Could use a lot more variety. Maybe keep it for Port Oakes, it does really fit there. Atmosphere-wise, I think Grandville's whole vibe is perfect. It feels like badguy inc. Nerva confuses me: why exactly is there a massive Longbow base just chilling in the Isles? Why are there Arachnos fighting CoT on the beaches of Primeva and not against the clowns in Agincourt? Cap au Diable and Sharkhead really work as settings for the grand overarching stories they tell about hidden omega-level monsters, but it's disappointing that they share a lot of similarities in that regard. Delete Paragon City? Probably the weather thing as noted above. I don't really have beef with Redside and I'm one of the relatively few (I am guessing) that doesn't care that the population is low. I find that people who play Redside in groups tend to roleplay more and/or enjoy a slower pace of play, and that makes me happy.
  20. Nah just a dumb joke by me and a missed opportunity by the devs.
  21. AR/Energy Blaster with Boosted Range Full Auto. Just Lmamamamamao the whole screen.
  22. On my characters that run TP as their travel power, I usually use the Athletic Run P2W power as the indoor mobility tool. Other than teleporting to team mates using a function similar to what Gigi described above.
  23. Only two I can speak of are both Blasters. Hitscan is a Rad/MC blaster with just X-Ray Beam from the primary and the rest melee attacks. Still does okay but obviously gimped. Downplay is a Energy/Sonic blaster designed with max knockback in mind. Actual knockback sets slotted in attacks. I haven't been brave enough to group with this character yet. Edit: My SD/MA Tanker Meddlesome might count. She sacrifices a lot of resists to pick up Leadership and Teleport pool powers. The end result is a great team tanker with a high degree of battlefield movement and team carry. But I would think twice before putting her in a hard mode team.
  24. Narrator: Little did Rudra know that the profile pic for the OP was of their main, a fully badged, vet level 2500+, Inv/SS TANKER.
