The 'Share your awesome bios' Thread!
twozerofoxtrot replied to GamerKate's topic in Art & Multimedia
Burning nether region? There's a cream for that. -
There isn't a list but @Bopper* has authored a thread on how to calculate the frequency based on power. He also developed a spreadsheet to provide those calculations but I don't want to share that without express permission. *apologies for the ping

Dual Blades - where to put Critical Strikes?
twozerofoxtrot replied to Stormwalker's topic in Scrapper
Since this thread has freshly risen from the grave, can someone post what the optimal attack chain +global recharge is? -
Snagged Downplay for silly concept toon but not attached to it, in case anyone has a love for the name. Downplay released again! Took it back! This is great name though, equally good for a character with a lot of knockdown skills or deprecating RP style.

Sounds great, I've seen a few of these types of Blappers before. Obviously going to be better on a team with an effective point soaking hits, but otherwise the combination of damage, mitigation, and mobility from the sets should serve you well. Might want to pick up Stealth to help cover your approach to a mob, even if Reaction Time will likely alert them once in range. Edit: Or maybe it won't?

What's the smallest change to CoX that you really want?
twozerofoxtrot replied to DougGraves's topic in General Discussion
For Kick not to cause weapons to redraw. Brawl already does this, using a sped-up Kick animation when you have weapons in hand. No forced redraw. -

I mean it's a great set everywhere now, but I think it's the best for optimized regen since you can literally slot everything but Build Up with FF proc. The actual soft control is nice too but kind of inconsistent so not to be fully relied on.

Macro help for Combat Teleport please
twozerofoxtrot replied to Snarky's topic in General Discussion
That's a great run-down, Stych! Since it was mentioned I'm gonna plug briefly for Jaunt! It has a 200ft Range and animates faster than CT, so if you want a really zippy (non-flying) character it fills the role even better IMO. Hard to express this with numbers but it's really easy to feel the difference in play, that extra distance and speed can help you cross right over the gap in larger rooms or even back to help a fallen back line comrade. And since this thread may draw in some folks who haven't played with binds, here are a few that I use for my TP powers: Alt-Click to location /bind Alt+Lbutton "powexecname [power]" Yes it's that simple, no need to click a second time to confirm; you just port right to where you alt-clicked. Allows you to disable the Pop-up Travel Power trays for Speed of Sound and Mystic Flight without losing functionality. Maximum Yeet! /bind V "powexeclocation camera:max [power]" Whichever direction you're looking you'll port to maximum distance that way. Very useful for traveling via Teleport or Translocation. Teleport to Target /bind T "powexeclocation target [power]" I mean, who even uses T to toggle your target tray anyhow? Much better use here. Unless you have a better key in mind, then you do you! Automatic Double Jump /bind Space "+up$$powexectoggleon Double Jump" Honorable mention cause I love this one so much it's a default bind. The idea is simple: If you have Super Jump and basically always want Double Jump active when it's off cooldown, then this bind will automatically activate it as you jump along. Similar to the above, this allows you to disable the travel Pop-up tray at Null without worries. No impact to regular use of Space to Jump or upwards flight. -
Knock back option suggestion
twozerofoxtrot replied to CompSciNerd's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
This is exactly what Thunderspy does via a toggle that every character has available at level one. Run. RUN!! -
honoroitisfantastic for a Slytherin - does anything compare to /kin?
twozerofoxtrot replied to honoroit's topic in Controller
I've done Kin on a defender, corr, and troller and like it best on a corr but it's fine everywhere. If you're split on deff/corr certainly go corr. I think even the vaunted Kin/Sonic defender is realistically outshone by a Sonic/Kin corr on Homecoming after Sonic got some boosts to damage and changes to how the debuffs stack. I feel like a kin controller is just a different beast entirely, and fights with itself less than the aforementioned because the focus is more about setup and support than dealing damage. Context: Not an expert by any means on the powerset. I don't even sweat to cap everyone's damage all the time. I just sort of play with it and have fun. My favorite corr and my favorite kin are my Beam/Kin corr.- 6 replies

Option to remove all enhancement proc visuals
twozerofoxtrot replied to Klaleara's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Yup really want this as well. Broadly speaking the Winter Set procs (like the hold and immob) can be really jarring and violate character themes. Example: Rain of Fire procing Frozen Blast's Immob. -
I had never noticed this and now I want to try to build something ridiculous like an Elec/WP Stalker with Power Transfer proc in ever attack that's more click-heal than Regen.
-
Broadsword/Rad is a strange combo that ends up being very durable if you take Parry, because Rad ends up with a thicker coating of Defense between that and Hide + pools, on top of resists and the Absorb. Pretty pokey too. Meltdown into Build Up before a big fight is neat.

Is Regen poor or simply challenging (Psi/Regen build request)?
twozerofoxtrot replied to Waljoricar's topic in Scrapper
This has been my experience. Observed in two places: 1) +4 ITF - Rommy's fuzzballs can't have their Regen debuffed... by Envenomed Daggers at least. 2) +4 Willpower AV in AE - Fast Healing's normal 25% Regen Debuff Resist turns into 100%. Tried debuffing with a Rad/Rad defender and couldn't. -
Ho @r0adkill76, I hope you've stuck with it this long. I recommend you try leveling a Willpower/Martial Arts tanker. It's a very smooth ride from 1 to 50. Skip Thunder Kick and Crane Kick in MA, and skip Resurgence and maybe Stength of Will in WP (I like the last one as an IO mule myself). Even with basic understanding of the game you'll have fun. Don't worry about handling agro, just play aggressively and the rest should sort itself out. I'm guess by how your OP mentioned the frequency of faceplants, that aggressive play is your M.O. Lean into that with this combo and feel rewarded.

Are we likely to see taunt get fixed in the near future?
twozerofoxtrot replied to Meknomancer's topic in General Discussion
Yup that's the mystery and why I'm guessing there is some hidden interaction with Gauntlet/Fury inherent taunt aura (as opposed to actual taunt aura toggles) because SR certainly doesn't taunt mobs on Scraps or Stalkers. -

twozerofoxtrot replied to Meknomancer's topic in General Discussion
Yup that explains Ice and Bio, but less so SR. Unless Veracor's theory is correct and some of SR's self-buffing powers are being considered as debuffs by the enemy underneath the hood. The only thing I can think of, since it's unique to SR and there are 3 applications of it, is the scaling DR and somehow its messing with Gauntlet/Fury threat aura. But that's a wildly unsupported hypothesis. -

twozerofoxtrot replied to Meknomancer's topic in General Discussion
That's really interesting @Veracor I appreciate the insights. It begs the question if something is going on that CoD isn't able to present for analysis. As someone who used to do a lot of tanking on Invul before the threat changes came through I definitely noticed a change in how the set holds agro after but never thought it outperformed other sets. It was night and day really, but I attributed it all to SS's ability to generate threat rather than Invul. I'll have to play with that a bit. As well as close the gap to 50 with my SR/SM tanker. Very curious if I can out taunt on the Aura alone (especially since I skipped Taunt to get to Unrelenting). -

twozerofoxtrot replied to Meknomancer's topic in General Discussion
I didn't know this about SR, is it documented why this is the case somewhere? It's puzzling from a theoretical standpoint since it only gets the Gauntlet aura in Elude, as opposed to Ice (and Bio) which get Gauntlet/Fury Auras in two toggles. -
Regen Brutes I've run: Energy Melee Pretty bad. Suffered with this from 1-50 and while the stuns were handy they weren't consistent enough and at low levels I really struggled. Caveat that I tried to do this "organically" without pimping the build until I gave up in the early 30s and slotted a bunch of IO sets. It got a lot smoother after that but still not a keeper. Deleted the toon after getting to T3 Alpha. Dual Blades I thought I could double dip on high recharge for both sets but I was over ambitious and also didn't consider how Regen clicks with mess with the optimal DB chain. Deleted somewhere along the way to 50. Battle Axe The best Regen character I've played and this was before the BA changes and the earlier access to MoG. Concept was originally "Lol what if every power had FF+ proc slotted??" And you know what? It worked like a charm. Got to T3/4 for all slots. After the BA changes came in, it only got stronger. My top pick. Probably as good or better than SS. Conceptually sound: War Mace Hey this is still a killer set, and three of the attacks have KD so you can use FF procs in to keep a high uptime on the buff. Big advantage over BA is that the KD on Crowd Control (and Shatter) 100% so you'll get more consistent soft control mitigation.
