  1. Despite the assertions made in this thread, the reason for content crossing zones was not to artificially extend the duration of said content by 2-3 measly minutes, but to give purpose to travel powers. We had to wait until level 14, and select a prerequisite, to acquire a travel power, and with Cryptic being so intent on preventing travel powers from being used in combat that they first saddled them with 25% -ToHit, then implemented travel suppression, the game itself needed to justify travel powers as something more than a cosmetic or thematic choice. Multi-zone content, in both arcs and *Fs/Trials, was how that was done. Sure, there are faster ways to reach missions now, and newer content is more likely to be focused in one zone, and there are even some people who prefer to sit in one room and do everything, but a lot of us like having travel powers and having those travel powers serve a purpose in the game. Having a reason to take and use travel powers is a core aspect of what makes Co* what it is, and if everything is consolidated into individual zones, travel powers themselves might as well be removed from the game and replaced with costume options.
  2. You guys know what happens when you set an empty cardboard box down near a cat? Yeah, that's what happens when @Snarky sees an empty chat room.
  3. @Sovera said "two PBAoEs". You really expect comparable performance using half that number on any archetype other than a blaster? Craft the Increase Recovery buff at an empowerment station, buy the Survival Amplifier from the START vendor, and review your slotting (set IOs are cheap, practically free if you buy low-demand recipes, craft the IOs and convert them to what you want).
  4. Defenders already fill those shoes with the debuffs attached to their secondary powers.
  5. I had to bury eight kittens this month, none of them with their eyes open yet, and a mama cat, Macy, who left behind five kittens. Petty shit isn't even a blip on my radar.
  6. The same way we do now. Gratuitous nudity and violence.
  7. Shit happens, don't punish the people it happens to.
  8. One more thing: the Opportunity bar doesn't have to be full to use Vulnerability. As long as you have at least 50 Opportunity (the Vulnerability icon in the power tray is solid, not translucent), you can use Vulnerability. The red ring is just there to indicate that Opportunity is at 100.
  9. It's not like Domination or Fury, you don't do anything to build it, it automatically charges up at 1.67 points per second (0-100 in 1 minute). One of the sentinel ATOs is an Opportunity proc that grants a small amount of Opportunity (7.5 for the regular, 10 for the Superior) when it triggers (low proc rate, though). Nothing else increases the rate of Opportunity gain, but on the other hand, nothing decreases the rate of gain. Activate it on a target, kick butt for 15s. You can do that 3 times in a row, or keep the debuff on a single target for 45s continuously, before you don't have enough Opportunity to use Vulnerability again (but you will in another 15s). Vulnerability also has no animation time, so however quickly you can move your finger back to the attack keys is however long it takes to use it.
  10. Hotkey a firewall rule to disconnect the game, cycle power on the hotspot/router (or pull the Cat5, if you're using a cable), Alt-Tab out of the game to shut off networking... Anything that easily worked around shouldn't even be implemented.
  11. Vulnerability requires 50 Opportunity to activate. If you don't have at least 50 Opportunity (half a bar), you can't use it. The red circle appears when the Opportunity bar is full.
  12. No archetype is supposed to control all of the aggro. The hard lesson learned in the early days was that allowing that kind of gameplay obviated archetypes. When tankers could herd entire maps, controllers and scrappers were pointless. When controllers could use AoE Holds eight times every minute, tankers and defenders were pointless. That was the real reason behind target and aggro caps, ensuring that all archetypes and all members of a team had an opportunity to contribute. That they had a reason to play and to be part of a team. Aggro was meant to be shared, just like XP. Tank with whatever suits your fancy, but don't expect to own all of the aggro. You can't, so leave some for your teammates. They'll appreciate teaming with you a lot more if they're part of the action than they would if they were there just as an audience.
  13. Click buffs having some limitations, like duration and radius, are critical to maintaining balance with debuffs (which is already skewed in favor of buffs). Example: you have to refresh Deflection Shield once every 4 minutes, and the +Defense is viable against all enemies for that duration, even if those enemies are ambushes, or from another spawn, or summoned. A TA/* defender has to use Flash Arrow every spawn, and every 60s if a fight lasts longer than that, and has 0% mitigation against any enemy which isn't debuffed (such as ambushes, other spawns or summoned foes). Balance before QoL.
  14. Welcome to the RNG Hates Me club. We expect to lose your application within 1-3 business days, call the wrong number for an interview and send your membership card to an address that traces back to Wrigley Stadium. Thank you for joining us, worst of luck to you.
  15. OP combines complaining about not being able to solo Council at */x8 with complaining about the Council being too hard for sub-50 characters, and complaining about Council being too hard on casual players. "Casual" players who solo at */x8, on sub-50 characters, without purples, Superior ATOs, level shifts, Incarnate abilities, and only 2/3 of their powers and 1/2 their slots. And who are struggling when fighting the Council, because they're "hard". Right...
  16. They're tight-lipped about whatever they're doing, but they're doing something.
  17. Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor?
  18. Is there a badge for standing around with your thumb up your ass while someone else "earns" your XP for you?
  19. Rikti taste like smoked chicken wings. I'm in.
  20. There are badges for accumulating debt, and you only receive debt for being defeated. You don't accrue debt below level 10, or during certain zone events (like Rikti raids), but for the rest of the game, debt is "a thing" and has been for as long as the game's existed. So whoever told you that is an idiot.
  21. I wanted to go to a cat café, Singularity wanted to go to a disco, we decided not to date.
