In my experience Regeneration on scrappers at least exemp well especially if you keep your recharge boosts intact.
-
Not that I recall hence needing Aid Another to make any serious headway towards those badges on my Scrapper. At ~3500 hours game time on her fairly sure I would've noticed if passive regen was helping. Edit: As an aside I don't think my Empaths were helped by using RegenAura but they weren't my badgers

Once I can access and use Mids again it'll undoubtedly be one of the first things I work on. Not sure if it won't be nearly a wash to get those new IOs in there but I'll definitely be taking a long look at it. Makes me smile at the irony of having both Aid Self and Aid Another in the build. But basically they are both mules for +max health and at one time helping her earn healing badges. Extremely rare she'd use them while in combat. Usually just Rebirth or occasionally topping off the health between major scraps.

Never got around to it on Live but this was exactly the approach I had on my Claws/SR Scrapper and definitely would have gone in that direction with my DM/SR Brute. The older Live scrapper build had over 2100 health, less than 300 hit points shy of the scrapper cap (and no scaling resist or max health IO uniques in the build). She often had nearly twice the passive regen of both many other scrappers and Brutes she encountered at the time (upper teens vs low 30's).

Pretty much guaranteed to be my Claws/SR scrapper unless 3 or more of my Empaths band together then they duke it out ... their combined To Hit buffs/mezzing potential is going to be very problematic for anything else.

What is the dumbest way the game has confused you?

Not when you've been messing with binds and keymapping 😛 -
What are the worst powers in the game?
Doomguide2005 replied to Bionic_Flea's topic in General Discussion
*raises eyebrows* Dark Pit does not belong on the list of bad powers unless it's a list of powers with bad reputations. Either that or all mag 2 stun powers belong on it. This is doubly so on any set pairings with another stun because now you're stunning bosses. Of course YMMV and all that. Otherwise this is your challenge, your rules as far as being an effective or not build despite loading up on ugly powers. And where's my Resuscitate 🤪? -
Looking for some Guidance in Croatoa Mission
Doomguide2005 replied to Sakai's topic in General Discussion
If you want to slaughter this mission roll or use an Earth/Storm. Between Hurricane and Earth's (as well as Storm's) patches ... you can stand in the portal and squash them as they come (you can get overwhelmed but ... ). With pretty much everything else the hit and retreat, rinse and repeat described earlier in the thread works well though highly single target melee will be more problematic than a ranged AoE dps monster especially as your team size grows larger. -
What are the worst powers in the game?
Doomguide2005 replied to Bionic_Flea's topic in General Discussion
Hmmm. I routinely skip (which certainly isn't quite the same as 'worst' but effectively not much different for me anyway): Elude - not so much bad as like your appendix, thoroughly useless 99.99% of the time. A lot of t9 armor powers fit this description but I lack any recent experience to say it's true for me. Time Bomb - should be renamed Time Sink or Time Waster. Resurrect- not so much terrible as massively bland and outshined by basically every other 'back among the living' powers in the game (and more than a few temp powers etc.). There's a few I've only used as mules ... and that seems to be pretty close to their only use. Jump Kick being one of those. I've had a rare few builds where I've used it to mule for Kinetic Combat (S/L defense). Others are so niche or specialized that they're close to 'always pick something else' outside of some special or alternate build. Hello Resuscitate ... makes Resurrect look good. Or Sonic Cage->single target is that a better or worse factor?. Or intangibilty powers in general. Though the AoE ones are kind of like many AoE Sleeps ... great for handling adds or ambushes if somehow you or the team has nothing else to use on them. -
I'm in building loads of defense on an Ill/TA is not the way to go crowd. Superior Invisibility + Flash Arrow means you are not going to be seen ... unless you want to be. Flash Arrow + Spectral Terror is a lot of To Hit Debuff even vs +4's and the Purple Patch (likely nearly 2/3rds the way to effectively softcapping) Then there's perma-PA. 3 near indestructible pets with Mag 4 taunt in every attack. All the above means the biggest threats to your well being are getting caught in AoEs aimed at your pets that still manage to hit despite to hit debuffs in the 25% range or more ... and that's with zero defense. The vast majority of your effort should be in building for recharge to gain perma PA then ensuring your recharge debuff resists keep it that way.

ill/time buffbot; would you want to team with this guy
Doomguide2005 replied to cohRock's topic in Controller
Superior Invisibility is indeed Superior. Now you really only need to worry foes that ignore perception (and attacks that don't target you but otherwise effect you, primarily AoEs aimed at someone nearby or various patches). The short not necessarily exhaustive list of foes who ignore stealth are Rikti Drones (of all sorts), KoA, and Rularuu Sentries (the various Eyeball sorts). Fairly certain the Drones and KoA have 'normal' perception values for their rank. No longer recall with certainty if the Rularuu base values are buffed or essentially normal for their rank as well. -
Should a 50-foot Stealth Power Be Augmented?

And with his next level I would expect him to exceed a Stalker in Hide -
Yes it's definitely worth exploring. If my computer hadn't up and died on me I'd add some more thoughts from experience with it. But as is what experience I did have was pre Rune of Protection changes but it undoubtedly looks enticing.
-
Yes. Really early issue the cap was 40. Then PI etc got added.
-
Mids often starts at something above 0. Often 100%. It's so it can account for things like debuffs. For example, Rage crashes, Granite Armor move spd debuffs and similar self inflicted debuffs. Things must be able to go downward as well as up to account for both buffs and debuffs (and indirectly game limits) Edit: There's also those green and yellow buttons on right end of a power's bar. They to be toggled on/off as appropriate to have their contribution to the totals included (or not).
-
It really depends. A couple of sets where I don't have much experience probably Mids+CoD. But a lot of it is simply filed away between my ears (though now with a bit of rust creeping in). I look at a lot of builds on the forums and had a lot saved. A lot is just memorized (or a quick glance to confirm) what bonuses fall at what slot on which sets.

Posted this awesome build (well I thought so anyway) to the RO Network forums with capped defenses ... then got reminded that you couldn't attack with Afterburner on. Sigh back to the drawing board. -
Okay, lock the thread. Luminara's almost right we're all heading to some other server where there's like 10,000 slots per shard.
-
This^ Thinking Troo wanted to avoid Incarnate stuff ... which honestly wouldn't change my list at all.
-
That would be tricky considering we stopped leveling at 47.
-
My Claws/SR, she's the Main main for a reason. After that it would be really tough. Too many 2nd choices. My short list for the number 2 spot Earth/Storm Empathy/Rad Huntsman Broadsword/Regen Cold/Ice With special mention of an SR/Claws Tanker who exists only in my mind for now.

Well here's a not all inclusive list of things you might do at 50. Many can be done along the way as well. Badges, stinkin' badges. Not just for long range teleport or Accolades or merits or defeat 'X', but just to do it because, Everest like, they're there. Often the above is combined with exploring all the zones because 'black' on a map is ... just wrong. Or combined with looking for Easter Eggs. Which is not to be confused with but can go along with looking for holes in the geometry (and is therefore intertwined with generalized exploring). Examples: Finding the secret room in Faultline or the "Dev" room in Grandville Learning about and engaging in Power Leveling and Farming. Related activities but not the same thing, and often done as a combined activity. Task Forces and Trials (both Incarnate and non-Incarnate). Done for many reasons --> Rewards (merits, Inf, salvage), Badges including Master of Badges but also defeat 'X' badges, Speed (often for rewards but it can be just for competitive fun). Learn to use the Jump Geysers in the Shadow Shard zones. Get certain badges while on an actual security level 1 character --> for example the Rikti Gone Wild badge PvP (but hey Stinkin' Badges even if not otherwise your cup of tea). Exemplar - to learn about how it works, there are about as many reasons why as there are players. Ranging from just doing so to help/team with friends or potential new friend to challenging oneself in or outside of Oroborous. Reach the Terra Volta reactor door on a character with no travel powers (temporary or otherwise). Just Sprint, Swift, Hurdle, and Combat Jumping. Create an SG and build a base. Lead a team, take the Star. Follow it up with leading a League. Create a character and level to 50 'Hardcore' mode --> No defeats for any reason. Now do the above on SO's only. Create and level to 50 (and beyond) a 'Unicorn' character. Ideally no one else has ever played that particular pairing to before. True Unicorns are getting rare so play one as rare as possible. Create and level one of every AT. Can be continued as 1 of every primary and secondary in that AT. Play the market. I hear it can be its own little mini game. Earn the Field Crafter badge. Win a Costume contest. Solo AV's and GM's. Great now do it on an AT that 'can't do that'. And now do it on max difficulty. Do a "Completionist' run. (Sees @Snarkyhas replied while typing, wonders if he knew what I was typing 😳) Do it (completionist run) for all 3 factions (Blue, Red and Gold) Level a Goldside character to 50 while remaining Goldside. Design mission/story content in AE Level a character using AE mission content (i.e. no farming/Power Leveling 😈) Collect Shivans and Warburg 'nukes'. Both are PvE content completed in PvP zones. The rewards can be very useful in doing difficult content in PvE. Earn the Longbow Mech (Recluse's Victory). Again a useful pet one can earn while in a PvP zone. Earn a Day Job badge and the associated reward. PvP by Gladiator matches in the Arena. Help extinguish a Fire in the Fire Event in Steel Canyon. Fight against a Rikti Invasion or in other zone events. Log onto the test server and try out an alternate build or a build for a specific goal. Try out an unusual build ... a petless Master Mind, 'pool boy', or man build. Medal in the races held in the Ski Chalet during the Winter Event. Run Radio and Newspaper missions and continue with Safeguard and Mayhem missions.

Kheldians: Why not make Cosmic Balance a Team Buff?

Maybe? But it isn't BillZ we're trying to Cosmic Balance either 😜. -
What is the dumbest way the game has confused you?
Doomguide2005 replied to ninja surprise's topic in General Discussion
Early on with my first character, a Scrapper, I started experimenting with remapping keys. I had remapped keys around my move keys moving auto run to the farside of the keyboard to the 'p' key. Shortly after the team was fighting Pumicites and looking at a particular nasty set of mobs I typed or rather started to "maybe we should p(ull)" and like something possessed my SR scrapper took off like a shot towards the mob. Woops. Remapped that key promptly. One of my friends on his newly minted first character really couldn't get the attention of this npc in AP. He tried various chat channels before sending a tell asking about the npc. Him: "Who is this npc in Atlas? Can't seem to chat or learn about his content?" Me: "I don't know. What does it say over his head?" Him: "'AFK', he is just completely unresponsive" Me: Umm ...
