  1. Not sure if you are referring to the Rule of Five which sets a limit to 5 of the same named set bonus as a limit for each build. I don't believe the Performance Shifter proc is consider a set bonus so the max is as may as you can fit in the build. 4 of them is probably overkill outside of very unusual build circumstances. I usually shoot for a net recovery in Mids of 2.5 or greater, under 2.0 and I expect to have issues. That net recovery is basically the amount I need to attack. My Claws/SR has a bit over 2.5 with all her toggles on (9 at max, 7 more commonly). With all 9 running she'll very slowly run down ... then eventually hit Conserve Power (or use blue or Geas, or for some never seen before reason since using Elude turn them all off and hit Eye of Magus.)
  2. Amen! Said as someone who spent a half hour using Hover to escape the deeply red Hollows on my then level 6 Scrapper after the level ~13ish team I was on disbanded post mission back in i4. And later used it to visit the Storm Palace (the structure) before Hover started receiving buffs to its base speed.
  3. Definitely not a glacial pace.
  4. I don't think it's ever happened to my main a Claws/SR scrapper, but I usually have Tactics running when teamed and Focused Fighting has Confuse protection as well.
  5. As you are seeing from this thread many secondaries can work well. And finding the one that works for you and your playstyle may have more to do with the 'success' of your character than which exact pairing you go with. Mine was part of a static, themed group I ran with friends. 1 scrapper and 4 defenders, mine being a Sonic/Dark defender. While our group faded out as we moved to other characters I did get mine to 50. Dark these days could also see a lot of proc potential if you wanted to go that way.
  6. I addition to the ideas above changing up the notoriety may help as well though not in the way you're probably thinking. Problematic mobs/mezzers may be more prone to showing up at a given spawn size or difficulty so try tweaking up as well as down. And no one has mentioned Defense Amplifiers though after recent changes they may not be a full time solution.
  7. Well my thoughts are that in general a Controller primary and an Empathy are not a good mix. And I play a lot of both Controllers and Empathy defenders. Why? Primarily because the focus of both is in opposite directions. When playing an Empath especially in a heated battle I've gone entire fights and barely seen anything but the team window. I'm intensely focused buffing and healing. Any blasts that are thrown are frequently used targeting through whoever appeared to be getting in trouble. Meanwhile my Controllers (often Earth/**) are doing almost the opposite. I'm focused on the foes and the battlefield and only peripherally noting the team window. I deciding who to mez and how, where to drop my AoE patches etc.. Now while I've done both Illusion and Empathy to 50 I've never paired them. And of all the Controller sets Illusion strikes me as perhaps one of the best Controller sets to pair with Empathy and the one I'd be most likely to do so. Illusion's pets require no attention, I can't buff most of them. They are fire and forget. I can do whatever I want after deploying them while they do there thing. If it's Traps I can move about placing traps, if it's Empathy I can buff my team and if it all starts to go south I can focus on healing and buffing and all but forget PA, it's indestructible. All I have to do is every 60 seconds or so drop another trio. At least that's how it plays out in my head. Lack of synergy isn't a downside it's a perk.
  8. I love playing around in Mids. I also did my main via PnP a dozen times or more before Mids came along. My computer died a while back, only internet I have is this phone. So the last build I did was the 'old fashioned' way for someone looking to update their Earth/Empathy build. No calculator required ... just circles with numbers for slots and levels after power choices. So the mechanical can opener worked fine while my own private natural disaster killed the electric one. On the otherhand I'd hate to do the same for 2 power sets I've never played as compared to 2 I've done a lot including that specific pairing. So yes I'll take a phone app version of Mids. I can always make the type font larger.
  9. I'm very much like @Aracknight. I have a Main. First created, first to see or try new content. The last I played before Sunset. That said I'm also very much an altiholic having over 100 50's back on Live. Pinnacle was nothing but 50's. But I created clones of my Main on several servers and on Redside (before you could readily swap sides) and she was always the first. Why? Got me beyond the simple joy of playing the game, playing her.
  10. They are not intended to "be worked into your attack chain" as an ongoing thing especially from an overall power mechanic. They are for flavor and story, i.e. fun point of view. Now granted that's my take on them and you may not even mean it to that extent. And it would be nice if using them didn't destroy my damage but ...
  11. Yes indeed @bigfashizzelfor the vast majority of content pretty much any foursome of defender/corruptor teams could do it. But Voltak is looking specifically at a combo for a Relentless version of the ASF and probably would like to do it as a successful Master run. And that is another kettle of fish altogether. And in all seriousness one of the biggest hurdles will be the lack of Tanker (or AT with both 90% resist and lots of health) You're looking at potentially surviving some very big hits that get past even truly capped defenses (i.e. around 89%) just because that will happen. And defender/corruptor builds with 75% resistance who can survive 5-digit damage is ... problematic.
  12. Multiple builds. Foes are heavy mezzers or particularly weak to Psi go Psi Mastery if not then Leviathan or ... I'd personally also lean towards Psi Mastery and Indomitable Will. IW can also come into play earlier than Incarnate abilities and I, at least, run exemplar frequently.
  13. SACRILEGE! No idea what's going on but watching the thread.
  14. Notes thing called Streakbreaker. Notes @Luminarapost above. Notes base attack chance vs +2's is 56% Notes It's not crap it's 3 day old sun ripened carp unless we: Notes we need combat logs and more details if the post was in seriousness or wishes to be taken as anything but hyperbole.
  15. What difficulty are you running both on and how much to hit do they both have?
  16. Dang, I knew I should have read the fine print on the Attack Mechanics page
  17. Not sure how I'd feel about being just "plain" evil and not "extraordinarily" evil or "ultimate" evil. 👿
  18. I'd think at Malicious or lower you'd be fine generally. From there it's going to depend on teammates a lot more. At Vicious and above foes start getting To Hit buffs as well as other buffs. Your soft cap will demonstrate the meaning of soft as you'll need increasing amounts of +defense to stay at the cap. The AVs also effectively have a further To Hit buff from Malicious onward using the Praetorian base to hit. And everyone hits harder. It'll be interesting to hear how end drain works both solo and if you happen to team with other Elec characters.
  19. This The lowest setting is essentially normal. The foes have no additional buffs and no extra powers.
  20. Sorry about the following questions but no computer, it died, so I can't open or use Mids. My only internet is this phone. 1) Are you perma-Hasten? 2) Is World of Pain also perma? 3) Why Acrobatics? 4) Is Anguishing Cry perma (or within seconds of being so)? 5) Thoughts on Incarnates. 6) One of the Panacea I'd consider swapping for a Preventative Medicine (more recharge, but you'll need a slot) 7) Conduit of Pain really isn't benefitting from the recharge. Your global recharge should be enough. I'd slot just an Endred as if Vigilance isn't providing a big discount 26 end is a chunk. 8) Painbringer, what sort of downtime? As for the whole not an Offender, I'm a Healer thing consider that having the blasts and slotting them for global recharge doesn't mean actually using them. The choice to use or not use is always yours. You could just as easily be caught using a buff as a blast at an inopportune moment.
  21. Lol, nope just me bouncing around too many threads apparently
  22. I'm assuming you did it on Relentless and did it with 4 fully IO'd and Incarnated players who frequently team together. Which if true is about as far from Snarky's PuG team concept as you can get. About like putting together a GM based team and calling that casual. Hey at least you had to pay attention 😜
  23. Truthfully if you want to go all 8 soloist style smashy smashy you probably can at Villainous. It's the default and foes have no extra buffs or powers. Correct me if wrong but it is possible to do a +4/×8 at Villainous. You just can't do the reverse and knock Relentless, Ruthless or Vicious back down to -1/×8. Correct? (*Goes back to Beta forums*) The difference that might catch folks a bit unaware especially those who don't frequent these forums is how much it ramps up on the way to Relentless. There is a much greater difficulty gap between Villainous and Relentless than -1/×8 and +4/×8 settings might imply to them.
  24. Knowledge is power. Familiarity is a form of knowledge. I've stated this elsewhere but I was in on the closed beta where Cimerora and the ITF were being tested. 8-man team, we lost 3 trying to take down Rommy. And by lost I don't mean by defeat/death, I mean they gave up in frustration because we were getting our butts handed to us repeatedly. They didn't see us being able to finish. We did eventually but it was painfully long in happening. Now PuGs complete it as kill most in way less time with few problems typically. I fully expect completion times to drop even on Relentless and likely substantially as time goes by.
