Yes, but it does depend a great deal on what level they're exemplared to. Below 27th and to a slightly lesser degree 22nd is where set bonuses are really getting dropped, outside of heavy use of purple and pvp IOs. Enhancement values individually 'suck' but only compared to their full lvl 50 values. Even a Purple IO scaled aspect is similar in value to an enhancement of that level. The difference is really a factor of slots rather than individual enhancement aspects (and the existence of set bonuses). The other factor I haven't seen mentioned is inspirations, 20 slots vs less as well as the strength of the inspires in those slots particularly when exemplared to very low levels (sub 20). Edit: The 5 level boost in power choices (and the changes in when you can access said powers also contributes) PS 2: And to answer the op it wouldn't bother me at all and if I was interested I have plenty of characters i could swap to.

Build Request: Rad/EA scrapper w/ Combat TP, TP, Fold Space
Doomguide2005 replied to Grimm2's topic in Scrapper
The softcap for scrappers is the same as it is for everyone, 45%. The differences exist on how easily a given AT and set can achieve that value. EA will reach it more easily as a defense based set than a resist based set or an AT with no self effecting defensive powers (primary or secondary) at all like say Empathy. -
harder content soloing / ITFs +4/x8 build suggestions
Doomguide2005 replied to R jobbus's topic in Scrapper
This is it when it comes to survival. The Cimerorans are all about defense debuffs and initiating a cascade failure. The more DDR the better. Or build in excess defense over the cap preferably equal to what their debuff would be. Now it takes two blows to drop you under the cap (and your odds of initiating cascade failure go from 0.05 to 0.0025) or pop purple. Negative energy damage is the next big issue. Primarily from 1) mission two and 2) Rom's Nictus pals particularly the auto hit Nictus version. And yes they fixed how their defense works and it can stack up and turn things into a whiff fest. Either move so they separate dropping their buffs or pop yellow(s) If you want to test your survivability vs Cimerorans hop over the fortress walls onto the same interior you'd face in mission 4. The only difference is no Rommy and his Nictus. -
yOu ShOuLD cHaNGe kNoCkBAck to KnoCKdoWN!

RO had a teaming project once called Hurricane Havoc. Let's just say a Storm/Nrg Defender would have been right at home. Things went flying everywhere, it was sheer chaos. And lots of crazy fun with Hurricane's ramming anything standing, Tornado and LS blasting away and more than a couple Nrg secondaries. -
yOu ShOuLD cHaNGe kNoCkBAck to KnoCKdoWN!
Doomguide2005 replied to Forager's topic in General Discussion
Which is exactly why my prompt is off. I get yoinked and now I know just how ... inappropriately they use teleport. I'll either deal with it or 'bye, bye thanks!' depending on how things are going otherwise. -
Going to sound ... well I don't really care as long as they're trying, paying attention to chat etc. and having fun while at least trying to contribute to the team. I'm big on Earth Control and have between HC and Live paired it with just about everything (except Sonic Resonance I believe). But my favorite among Earth has to be Storm. Earth is probably one of the least damaging control primaries but Storm makes up for that in spades. Earth can potentially disable 4 spawns at once. Rocky (the pet) is tough and is one of the few pets with Taunt actually built in. My current Earth/Storm is a stun machine and can put out 7+ mag worth of stun in few seconds. Very little that isn't mez protected won't be rapidly stunned and locked in place by the AoE immobilize to be hammered by Lightning Storm and Tornado while Rocky and I take turns laying down Seismic Smash on the bosses.

I don't know about best but Ill/TA is a ton of fun and all those potent debuffs work wonderfully with the unbuffable Phantom Army for boosting their damage.

Used to sit up on the War Wall in Creys Folly using Moonbeam to snipe with my Emp/Dark. Effective not so much. Fun, why yes thank you. Especially watching the blast follow a Freakshow running about like a headless chicken as he vanished out of sight my only knowledge of his fate watching the chat as he dropped out of sight, defeated.

Frostfire solo with no insp at level 15
Doomguide2005 replied to gronbek's topic in General Discussion
Yep. Solo on this is very different on an SR Brute vs one of my Empaths. I'll need virtually every trick in the book if I want to not spend a lot of time running back from the Hospital with my Empath. The Brute probably just has to make sure PB isn't on cool down -
Renewal of Light vs. Return to Battle
Doomguide2005 replied to Techwright's topic in General Discussion
I've found both annoying and have virtually given up using them. I'm just as likely to survive 'waking' if I've use a small Awaken. In fact I don't know if it's lag or an impossibly long unlucky streak but I feel like I'm dead again before the animation finishes never mind any supposed "untouchable" period. Kind of pointless if I need to wait for all the foes to be dealt with first before I rez. This, as of the moment is all subjective. But I now include the seconds on my timestamps and maybe I'll catch the rez in the act of failure. -
Money making in CoV/H (and how I dont do any of it)
Doomguide2005 replied to Snarky's topic in General Discussion
Yep, Benumb was my first thought though usually in my 50+ builds I'll use just two 50+5 recharge IOs backed by large amounts of global accuracy, Tactics and Kismet to ensure it's hitting (and usually the target is also debuffed by Sleet and Infrigidate). But good gravy that's a lot to spend on one IO when I think on how far it would go across all my alts. -
Where is the secret door to Pocket D in Independence Port?
Doomguide2005 replied to Azari's topic in General Discussion
Thinking @Hedgefundhas the answer here. Paragon Dance Party existed on Live prior to Pocket D being added to the game and often served as another shortcut for moving around especially before the changes to the yellow and green line transit stations. -
REQUEST: A Little More Storage for SG Bases
Doomguide2005 replied to BlackSpectre's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
In fact i believe your level 1 can BE the sg creator. The level 10 requirement went the way of the dodo at some point -
Personally I like to slot 2 or 3 Range/Slow in there. Gets the slow in there which gives me some distance options on where to toss them. Especially handy for throwing around/beyond a corner.

Illusion/Cold AV Killer / Teamer Build Advice?
Doomguide2005 replied to CrashJupiter's topic in Controller
When you can access all your incarnate powers, especially those involving recharge, the build is more than adequate to help a team take down an AV. You should be able to solo many of them. Below level 45 you should also be able to assist them quite well but you'll have to watch your end bar and use Heat Loss to eliminate that concern. Below 33rd endurance will be the most limiting factor as a long sustained encounter will stress your ability to maintain sufficient end without external help. -
Yes I'd be wondering too. Healing, well was everyone at or near full health? Bear in mind offensively you are just as effective at 1 hit point as you are at full health so as long no one is dying ... The only reason to heal then is to keep someone at full health where the one shot rule would keep them upright, like a Defender or even Tanker, who gets hit for more damage than have health by an AV, for example. Now as to not buffing that's not ideal but understandable if the team is already rolling thru the foes as if they're wet tissue paper. Most teams though aren't typically that overpowered there's almost always someone(s) who'd benefit from getting proactively buffed.

Fade is also one of the few ways to gain DDR something all defense builds trying to reach 95% DDR crave

I need to take a closer look at this. Long time Earth control fan and very much enjoying my Symphony/NAff. But have to do that later with access to the desktop rather than this phone. Want to play around with Fossilize and see how much recharge you actually lose as Fossilize hits hard using procs

Rebuilt her actual build since I need a level 50+ build for her anyway. Didn't really have a build I followed while leveling mostly just worked it out as I went along. Endurance use is an issue prior to Heat Loss which is at level 30 (so level 25+ while exemplar), but from Heat Loss onward, endurance should not be an issue at all. Down time on HL is around 18 seconds sans Incarnate boosts, 7 to 18 seconds with depending on ability chosen . If exemplar below 25 I'd grab an empowerment buff or survival amp or START +recovery ideally. I'm likely to work up a pre 25 build for exemplar play down to lower levels but will see as this character is on Excelsior and most of my time is spent on Everlasting. I'm noticing some what I presume are errors in Mids numbers so definitely compare them to Combat Attributes and in game info as needed. And that's assuming something in Mids isn't set different from my normal settings for whatever reason, but I'm fairly certain its accurate enough for playing purposes. Cloud Song PlantColdPsi (v2.00 i27.7) - Controller (Plant Control - Cold Domination).mbd EDIT: Arrg it didn't not load the build it should have ... lets try that again
-
Not at my computer but I have a level 50 Plant/Cold/Psi on Excelsior. I'll see if I can't at least get a version of that build posted. Might need refinement but it's a solid enough build to handle most content. Definitely a rare set pairing.

Still can't get started on Incarnate stuff.
Doomguide2005 replied to Zombra's topic in General Discussion
My biggest gripe isn't that the system is complicated or totally different from the previous 50 levels but that i can't see the whole thing at once. Instead I'm left scrolling up and down trying to remember I need some enchanted sand, arcane doodads, living relics ... scroll and flip between create and convert tabs which until I've done it a bunch of times making what I'm trying to do and learn very "hidden" until I've done it a bunch of times. Basically the presentation makes it more difficult to learn. -
The "PVP only" tick box at the character creation screen.
Doomguide2005 replied to Palehood's topic in General Discussion
Well typically we head for the big Disruptor bot. Or rather my 6yr old likes to drag dad there. He loves to grab the big "friend". Probably level 2 enhancements but those are totally optional. Fortunately he has basically no understanding of being defeated or having to hospital 🤪, so for him it's just like RWZ or any other zone that's way over his head. -
Titan Weapons/Super Reflexes Build Examples Needed
Doomguide2005 replied to Canopian's topic in Brute
Feel like I could mess around with this more but really would need to know what the heck I'm doing with the TW side of the equation to do so effectively. The build while a level 50 build with sets doesn't go all out. It's somewhere between a leveling build and a full out level 50+ Incarnate build. Because of this there are some slots you could move around or change up slots and power choices. Normally, for example, post 50 I'd have a single slot in Practiced Brawler and my Claws/SR has no true travel power relying on jet packs and athletic run+sprint to get a around. There's also a number of toggles you could or may even need to, toggle on and or off to handle end consumption depending on team composition external buffs etc. Maneuvers, as an example, is about 90% mule and steppingstone to gain Tactics which itself is something you could toggle off if not needing it to hit your foes consistently. Things I'd look at further is getting those resists higher as that is a Brute strength especially compared to scrappers and support classes. But you shouldn't get hit all that often as positions are soft capped and despite my efforts you've got silly amounts of overkill in Melee unless you are fighting foes with incarnate level to hit numbers or hard mode foes (in which case you are incarnate capped for melee). You've also, of course, got those scaling resists. But both the resist IO specials are just begging to get included. You've got extra melee defense, so I'd be looking at swapping out a def/endred/rech for a straight up +5% resist and try to find a spot of the scaling resist IO as well. In short while I think the build is solid enough for most content there are certainly all sorts of minor changes one could make to improve the build, I'm quite certain. Titan Weapons/Super Reflexes Build Examples Needed
Doomguide2005 replied to Canopian's topic in Brute
I'll see if I can't get at least the SR side put up by tomorrow -
For what it's worth I'm seeing much more rational numbers on the first posted build {and the others as well at a quick glance). I personally would turn off Evasive Maneuvers it offers a large bonus but gets suppressed essentially by almost anything you might do outside of flight itself. Looks to be shy in the DDR department (I'm not familiar enough with Sents to know if that's expected in an SR but I'm thinking no). Link Minds won't come into effect until 42nd level which also means a bit shy on both R and AoE defenses until then (pretty much close to doubling the incoming damage until then). Will come back to look at it more in depth later. PS: Just managed to get the latest Mids version working yesterday on my computer as far as I can tell so far so good no weird numbers noted anywhere.
