  1. Scenario 1) Sheesh, I screwed that up. Forgeting to buff my resistance and overshooting my jumping in to land in melee while not letting my allies know I was going in .... Scenario 2) lol, that looked like barely tickled the scrapper. And why is he emoting reading a newspaper and muttering how this game lacks any challenge in Discord. IF! you repeatedly used solid and varied tactics and repeatedly got plastered so fast my various Empaths couldn't save you, well then I might see reason to agree and at least look into more testing. But when I see a support teammate move into melee range of an AV with vastly insufficient buffs or debuffs present to support life ... umm, welcome to triage
  2. Guess I did say AoE but seriously while both Steamy Mist and Cloak of Darkness technically have protection against a singular mez they aren't what they are truly used for. I mean if you want to go that route everyone can get a large "anti-mez" power by taking Tactics. Guess it depends on how many targets, duration and large an area they would cover for how much they would reduce the desire to use Clarion and if that would be too far. Mind you I have run just about every single Empath pairing the game offers (and most of them to 50), as well as most of the rest you listed so i definitely get where @Seldomis coming from. I guess you could even say those powers and Clarion bring into question why effecting more than one target is even an issue for the ally targeted anti-mez.
  3. And there's the consideration of how it would effect Clarion which right now is the only AoE anti mez. While there'd still be some effects from the radial side it would have quite a neutering effect particularly to the Core side of the Ability
  4. 3 to 13% and 5% just for the record
  5. And or use an immobilize and stay at range. And just to be clear: No, an AV, even a +0 one, will have better than a 5% chance to hit you do to accuracy mods (both for being an AV and possibly for being uplevel).
  6. I think 99.9% of the time they are fine. And exceptions (if any) are usually and often compounded by tactical error on the part of the player (at least that's what will usually take me out so fast I'm left momentarily going wtf!). Defenders solo(?) (leveling and not IO'd etc.) vs an AV at ~35th level is a very risky proposition. 3000 damage sounds like you were debuffed (or he was not a +0 version or both). His hardest hitting attack, Total Focus, does a base of about 1750 damage well short of 3000 per CoD). And while I've no idea of the power sets involved I'm guessing he didn't do 3000 damage with a ranged attack. Smells like at least two or three tactical errors already. No favorable buffs or debuffs, you got debuffed or otherwise effected and didn't realize it (stunned?) and you were subject to a melee attack. My own Defenders even my IOd out exemplared level 50s (who like and are built to be in melee) would avoid melee range of an AV especially an up level one while solo or teamed without a very good reason.
  7. Perhaps a combo of not dying while accumulating a certain threshold of damage taken (to rule out playing timid or door sitting etc.). Wouldn't keep someone playing vary careful but their hours played would be presumably well above average. *shrug*
  8. Any/Any Of my own scrappers that would be my Claws/SR. Seldom does she run into any game content even at +4/×8 that she can't handle.
  9. Runners count me in the *shrug* category of they'll come back. That said my main is a Claws/SR. 1) I'm stupidly fast compared to most runners as my net recovery is good enough to run both Sprint and Athletic Run 24-7 when teamed generally. They are not getting far! 2) Claws has 2 ranged attacks ... and if it really bothered me I'd have a bunch more on tap. Envenomed Daggers, Plasmatic Taser, Stun Grenade, Nemesis Staff, Blackwand etc., etc.. But no there's not much you can do about runners especially if like SR you have no taunt aura where even Willpower has an edge there.
  10. Oh it's worse than trying to hit 0%. The 'cap' is -300% for the resistance floor. And of course for max damage you want to do both and then add procs into the mix since they bypass the damage cap.
  11. And if donations scratch that itch I believe in addition to CoH both Mids Reborn and the HC wiki could use our help as well.
  12. I see it as the perfect opportunity to get to 50 and put an asterisk next to your name in the record books if you do so without another ... defeat. I mean you were only mostly dead.
  13. Some interesting errors in the build and comments. Is this AI generated by chat GPT which is what the title seems to imply?
  14. I feel like there's an undercurrent of it's either damage or sapping for a sapping character running, perhaps unintended, through this thread. Nope! Two level 21 to 50 Endmod sets (Power Transfer and Synaptic Shock) contain damage aspects. Using them can maintain your sapping capacity and push damage to early DR/ED territory in 5 slots (iirc my Emp/Elec build correctly, about 80% ED damage). After that you've got the 6th slot for choice of enhancement or Proc and or plus at 45+ something like Musculature to further enhance both Endmod and Damage aspects plus 2 Interface abilities (Gravitic and Preemptive) also can effect Endurance aspects of the foes. Even back on Live I had an Emp/Elec/Power build which could reapply an ED capped damage and endmod debuffed Short Circuit after about 7 seconds while PBU was active.
  15. I've noticed this in Mercy as well just don't recall the exact contact prior to Fire Wire who is a next in line choice.
  16. Unless you were a GM (Green Machine). A near or truly crashless nuke even on a Defender a thing of beauty while everyone else dealt with a crash. Irradiate, Atomic Blast (survivors often held), followed by Irradiate or Cosmic Burst is very likely to end a spawn in those days. Now it's more like Judgement, Nuke, mop up, just don't see GM teams very often any more.
  17. In almost all circumstances my Claws/SR/Body would defeat any of my villains particularly on HC since none of my truly villainous sorts have hit 50 (whereas Greta is a completely t4 Incarnate). She would be equally likely to defeat most of my Live villains. I do have a couple Vigilante/Rogue characters that might get a bit rough to handle but probably not tough enough. Maybe the Earth/Storm/Psy on a map where she could keep her ground bound while her Stormie side pounded away. Just don't see most of the other competitors managing the dps to put her down while avoiding her.
  18. Would the first have been the third then looking in the mirrors to see the hazard hauler closing way, way too fast?
  19. The Iron Man/Hardcore rules dedicated SG I played on Live these were the rules except rule 7. You were expelled or quit the SG if you did not wish to delete. I suspect if they had existed when the SG was active restrictions might have been placed on using merits for only the direct purchase of IOs or some other limitation (no converters to Inf etc). It is way, way too easy using merits to otherwise accumulate Inf.
  20. Zero interest here and I'm not the least bit worried about any alleged skill issue. It's a different game requiring different builds that I've no interest in working on or towards. If I want PvP I'll take chess or ASL (or ...) thank you very much.
  21. Haven't tried it yet but everything I'm seeing and reading is telling me I need to. I do know that a Marine/Water, Cold/Ice, Kin/Fire and a Plant/NAff plus a VEAT and 3 melee utterly (and completely unsurprisingly) destroyed a +4/×8 ITF but I commented at one point I could see as many green numbers as orange floating on my screen. We chewed through them at a crazy pace while barely getting touched (or the damage vanished as fast as it occured). And mission did not matter. Have i been on similar teams? Sure but it's not common.
  22. This^ I don't farm and largely don't use my high levels to fund my new lowbies (excepting a rare few specific projects). I don't "play" the market but yet most of my sub lvl 10 are equipped with +3 SOs and have banked a few million. In addition to running low level story arcs (like Habashy) I'll collect the exploration badges. I'll also only use 5 merits the first time typically after which it becomes 10 merits for 30 converters to sell. And sell pretty much everything off to the AH. Edit: At least this is my current SOP. I've gone through various phases of doing it.
  23. Agree with most. You died. You now have a debt badge.
  24. Read again or stop trying to due it without some light 😜. As I suspected you are talking about ED cap damage not the 400% and up AT damage cap. And yes the change allowing the lower level character to use SOs is potentially huge equalizer as you drop low. (as in under 15th but all but vanishes as 22nd+ approaches.
  25. This ^ In Posi 1 my lvl 50 t4 Claws/SR can shred things with a 6-slotted ATO Spin. Doubtful if any lowbie is going to match it even if they have actually obtained it being only a few level over the TF cap. And I can do so with several red or dual red/yellow running.
