  1. I run level 50+ content probably 1% of the time. I'm saying 1% because I have no idea what the fraction of a it would be but I would be shocked if it was less than 0.1% of the time. I haven't heard this for a very long time ... and it was only from one person. If people don't understand that knocking someone down/back is stopping them from attacking until they get back up, they don't understand the game very well. If you have knockback, just do what you should do with practically everything in life - "use it responsibly". If someone is getting-your-goat/pushing-your-hot-buttons or if someone else is generally just going off, put them on ignore. Just put them on ignore or leave the group if you feel you need to. There are other people to game with. Find some cool ones to game with and try to hang out with them when they are on.
  2. I have over 100 characters here. I play the game. I honestly don't like the end-game content. Too many flashing lights. I can't see what I'm fighting. The Incarnate system is garbage. I like running with new players that are leveling up and learning to play the game. Homecoming is the place for me. I might not always agree with some of the gamers in the Community, but this still seems to be a great Community with some of the core people from live. I'm not even going to bother to check out any other server. This is THE CITY. Could add an (xp per level) per hour formula that matches whatever the desired leveling rate should be. Once you have reached that cap, you don't gain any more level until the next hour starts. But I don't think people want to get rid of power-leveling in the AE or otherwise. 2XP wouldn't be free/available if there was that much concern. I'm against powerleveling myself (always have been), but, if one form of power-leveling is okay, why shouldn't another one be okay? I dip into the 2XP to keep up with other players that I'm trying to level with that insist on using it. Otherwise, I don't alway use it. Using the 2XP levels you so quickly that you have to level lock yourself to avoid outleveling arcs. You could even outlevel arcs without it if you aren't careful. Honestly, I feel a bit guilty about using the 2XP, but I still do it to "fit in". Peer-pressure is everywhere.
  3. Isn't this exactly what happened when the AE was released and the DEVs caved to the Powerleveling crowd? The AE babies couldn't even figure out how to get out of Atlas back then.
  4. I say give it to people for free at the P2W vender. Cut the farm out of it and let them play like they want to play. People are constantly looking for AE farms to get power-leveled. If all they are going to do is sit in the AE until they are power-leveled to 50, what difference does it make? The people that want to play the lower levels can play the lower levels (the game) can still play the game, and whoever wants to start playing at 50/the End-game can start playing at the end of the game/level 50. I find the game more fun myself. I won't be using it, but it will cut down on the people looking for farms in the LFG channel.

  6. Check your email. I think I recall they sent you an email response to all tickets.
  7. The DEVs/GM are taking the higher path. (Do I need to say that's my opinion? Shouldn't have to, but it seems appropriate in this case) You are in your rights to disagree. They are well within their rights to take the stance they decide to take as well. They are the ones that will be making the final decision. I'm going back in to add this. You don't seem to be too knowledgeable about the City of Heroes. You can rename your characters at any time. Renaming your global? haven't tried, but a support ticket would probably make that happen in the worse case. No need so much to do either in most cases. If you put the offending character on ignore you are invisible their searches and you don't get their message. If someone isn't on your global friend list, then you aren't on theirs. Also. There are RPG groups and clubs that have meetings. Check Clubs - there is a Roleplay-A-Day club. Some RPG groups have meetings in bases or in locations like you indicate. We really don't need the specifics of what went on. Harassment is harassment regardless of where it is going on in THE CITY or otherwise. (On person's kidding around can be harassment and that is where the line can get blurry. Sexual innuendos and what not are pretty clearly harassment.) Oh, the DEVs here are tech and ethics savvy. They can deal with offenders on multiple levels as they feel it is necessary.
  8. I'm sure you have done at least some of this Use Menu>Support>Harassment and Conduct - to report the character(s) by name and server Get screen shots or recorded footage and send it in when you get the email from support. Put the offensive characters on /ignore I'm not part of the intense roleplay community here, but I have had one of my characters sent suggestive tells and followed from zone to zone by another character. I reported it. I put them on ignore. I have never seen that offensive character again ... but I server and character jump a lot. If you are in an rp-community that shows up in given places than that makes you an easy target. I'm sure there are other members of the rp-community that you know that would back you up. They can get screenshots or footage of whatever is going on as well and send in their own tickets to back you up.
  9. You don't have to run a 300 or 500 point game. Try running original Champions (first three books or the first combined hardback) with only 100 or 150 point characters. Fewer dice. Fewer hp. Makes things go a lot quicker. I loved playing Champions. But the first game that I ran with Super-heroes was Traveller ... because Champions didn't exist at that point. I looked at the Marvel and DC superhero games at that time and the systems really sucked as far as I was concerned. I didn't like the rules for Villains and Vigilantes either. Champions allowed you to make what you want no matter how barebones or complicated you wanted to make it. The Champions rules they made up for the MMORPG and then were used to replace REAL Champions rules - those suck. SUCK! If you are going to play Champions, then play it like it was meant to be played - and it wasn't meant to be played like the MMORPG!!!!!!!!!!!! Original Champions is very number crunchy, but it is so balanced. Incredibly balanced. Used to love just sitting around making characters - whole teams of characters. Themed hero teams, themed villain teams. But I like making characters! Super-heroes or otherwise.
  10. Would it be possible to use the quicksand animation for a power customization option for Mud Pots? I know one is static and the other moves. Seems like this might be fairly easy to implement if the animation moving with the character isn't an issue. But I know it's all based on time constraints of the DEVs and what they have interest in doing since they are volunteering their time.

  11. Yep, exactly. Give you a second to go through your tray for respites or what not, if you don't have a marco built for that yet. /macro Heal "inspexec_name respite$$inspexec_name dramatic_improvement$$inspexec_name resurgence" is my basic one.
  12. Secrets of the the Ancients ... and possibly some secrets of Ebil Marketing as well .... oh, and liberal use of bases.
  13. When that happened, I logged not several characters that were stuck in the lake in Atlas Park. Pretty soon the /stuck command was widely known. There is Frozen world place that is open all year long with an ice pond. I'm not talking about the ski lodge.
  14. Homecoming still up and running.
  15. Definitely any kind of gambling type mechanics that can be linked to real world dollars needed to be removed from games, especially if non-adults are playing them. Realistically, this kind of mechanic expands out to collectable card gaming and miniature gaming as well. Gambling sells through addictive compulsive behavior. People want that "ding" of success. Always makes me think people are really wasting the "ding" enjoyment by power-leveling past it. And, you know, taking the fun out of the hero's journey - because the Hero's Journey is the adventure part of the story.
  16. What magazine/website/media-outlet, gaming company, or psychological testing group are you working for? I'm just curious, because you come across like you are researching for something other than your own "fun" or "enjoyment".
  17. You can't be proven wrong about your feeling. How you feel is how you feel. If you found pets annoying in the past and still do now, then that is the case. There is no debating how you feel. It simply is how you feel.
  18. Dag, whippersnappers! Git off the Atlas Park lawn!
  19. create new characters There really isn't. I play other MMORPGs like I play City of Heroes. I like to explore as much of the different character creation options as I can in game. There seems to be a large number of players that are "one and done". They may have an alt or two, but they usually run their main - until they get bored with a game an leave. City of Hero - obviously - has a far more massive and immersive character creation system. I mean face it. Most games have damage dealers, tanks, healer, a stealth guy, and a controller (maybe). They may have 3-5 variations of each type. And all of them essentially look the same other than possibly what kind of armor they are wearing (which may very well be related to its values in combat) or which weapons they are carrying. Most players are going to pigeon-hole into one type of character and play that in every MMORPG that they play in. That's their niche and they work to be good at it. They play up to the end levels of a game and get bored and quit or grind for eternity. City of Heroes is a creative game. And sorry to say, some players just aren't creative. That isn't to say that someone can't come to City of Heroes and want to make all of the Avengers and alt out on the rest of the Marvel Universe. Not being very creative, but if they are doing a good job on the costumes (before getting nerfed in order to protect Marvel/Disney's copyrights....) they are having to put some creativity into it. And, if that is their trip and they do get nerfed, they probably will give up on the game. Most players aren't looking for a game as in depth as City of Heroes.
  20. 5-30 Million at a time seems to be a sweet spot. "Enough for the time being" to "enough to get going" If someone is trying to track down the Halloween costume parts, I'll buy them and mail them to them. if someone is asking for small amount of infl, I'll usually email it to them. Honestly, if you give them 100m, they are going to end up giving me some of that by buying my products on the market and I will probably make a killing off of them because they will have no respect for the influence they are spending.
  21. "Let's all ..." is my main issue. I shouldn't get involved with these threads anyway. I'll try not to do so in the future.
  22. fail. Yeah. You can say that I "play villains" as well and put me on a chart that looks like that. However, that is not a true picture of in-game time or true assessment of the villain or hero player base. I play villains less than ... I'm guessing realistically heading on 1% of my game time. Less than 4% of my characters are villains. Your chart doesn't take that into consideration. Your chart warps what is going on in order to prove your point rather than looking at what is going on realistically. How very villainous of you.
