  1. Obviously, their first love is the C.
  2. On live, I used to have a character pick a random common salvage, place a bunch of bids at 300inf, list everything I got at 1inf, and just watch the money pile up. My record was getting 600k for a ruby I had listed at 1inf.
  3. In response to allegations that some former higher-ups at Microsoft behaved inappropriately towards coworkers, but it wasn't universal or anything, Microsoft has chosen to acquire specialized domain expertise in this field.
  4. perhaps the real devs were the friends we made along the way
  5. I was going to have a no inspirations speed run but then I realized I got the idea from somewhere and that meant I'd already failed.
  6. You've given me a supergroup idea: "VeraCorps", a supergroup where the admission requirement is at least one vet level. The goal is to try to have the entire super group, added together, have as many vet levels as Veracor.
  7. Honestly at this point I want an account-wide badge called BadWrongFun for levelling a character to 50 without earning any XP outside of AE.
  8. Oh, come on, that's not a "gutter" thing, that's the Miracle of Life. And also the core mez mechanic of my proposed Gravidity Control power set. :P
  9. Open source, of course. 😛
  10. Wasn't there some absolutely insane drop-rate bug on Live, long ago, that turned out to actually exist, and Arcanaville found it? I don't think there's likely to be another, but it was an amazing example.
  11. A useful quote on which to meditate: The plural of "anecdote" is not "data".
  12. One of my habits was, the moment I had Some Inf, I would pick a random low-tier common salvage, bid 300 each on as many as I could, and list them all at 1 inf, and make money hand over fist. It was amazing. Clearly not the same thing, though.
  13. I often just dump recipes on the market at 1inf because it makes the market nicer for me later. 🙂
  14. I wonder if this could be a Pool, rather than an archetype, because it really feels like it's supposed to work with most archetypes.
  15. I developed a tactic for running teams which was just to say "fine by me" whenever anyone asks about anything and basically just run with it, and that seems fine.
  16. Oh, I'm definitely not volunteering. Vague recollection: I saw nothing to indicate that there was any tie-breaking or ordering going on, so how it chooses is it doesn't, which means that it gets whatever order the results happened to come back in, which is sort of random-ish but without any actual attempt at being random, just also without any attempt to impose an order.
  17. That would be devs, not GMs, and you know, the code is available...
  18. I wonder whether things like KB/KD/KU could be made into stances, like the staff forms, bio armor adaptations, and so on.
  19. I would assume it'd be more like "create model attachment points in weapon models that auras can key off of", so it'd be a choice for auras, not a choice for weapons, but.... I'm not sure, because none of the existing auras are costume-aware in any way that I know of.
  20. Speaks for itself, really. What if, along with "fists" or "fists and eyes" or whatever, there were an option for "weapon"? Also this seems likely to be extremely fussy to try to implement. But like, think about the possibilities. Beam Rifle or Assault Rifle, but the rifle itself has the "sparks" aura. Flaming swords. Etc.
  21. Was poking at staff melee costume choices, and you know, it would be fun to be able to have a staff that was moderately-transparent. So, similar to the metal/glossy-metal, but transparent. And/or, alternatively, something like the Spectrum body parts. Possibly with a "wrapped" variant where there's some amount of material object between glowing ends. Just seems like this would fit some character concepts fairly well.
  22. I somehow failed to comprehend that part of the description of Teleport Target. I think what threw me off was that it was a perfectly clear sentence in my native language. I was clearly unprepared.
  23. Okay, I sorta feel this is my Horse Stance Groinpuncher moment, but: I would be sad to lose teleport foe. I know it's nearly always sort of useless, but it is a way to pull people without needing line of sight to them, and if you have trip mines, it can be Very Nice Occasionally. I recognize that it's highly situational and often goes completely unused, but every so often it's really nice to have a way to yoink someone from far away, and put them exactly where you predict they will not want to be.
  24. When people tell me that "harder to succeed" makes a game better and more fun, I propose that they get a modified router which drops 50% of packets and use that. Instant fun!
  25. We could also just double their prices in merits and make drops rarer, or remove drops entirely, and that would be even more fulfilling! But I think you're missing a significant thing: CoH, like most MMOs, is a social game. People like being able to trade stuff they don't need for stuff they do need.
