Back in December, I made a Praetorian Time Manipulation/Dual Pistols Defender with the purpose of soloing all Praetorian content from level one through level 35. I started out in Precinct Five and chose the Loyalist alignment. All hail Emperor Cole! Anyhoo, I followed the Loyalist "Accept Alignments" path from this guide to the tee, turning off XP at levels seven and fourteen. It went swimmingly in Nova Praetoria and Imperial City. However, I hit a major roadblock in Neutropolis. Per the guide, my last contact in Imperial City was Praetor Sinclair, and I chose Loyalist. I did some repeatable missions and winter event stuff to get to level nineteen, turned off XP, and went to Neutropolis. I called up Provost Marchand... except he wouldn't offer me any Loyalist contacts at all. Nothing. Nadda. Zip. Zero. So I called Calvin Scott... and he only offered me the Crusader Resistance contact, which I couldn't do as a Loyalist, and his own story arc, which again I couldn't do as a Loyalist. I was stuck. Now, I could have walked up to Aaron Walker and/or Dr. Hetzfeld and/or IVy, and maybe they would have talked with me, but the point of doing this was to do all Praetorian content, including breadcrumb missions. I asked around and was told that it was probably a bug with having Calvin Scott as a contact at that level. So, I thought maybe if I tried again, and skipped all of the Crusader Resistance contacts this time (since Calvin Scott is a Crusader Resistance contact), perhaps I would be okie. It wouldn't be all Praetorian content, but I could do the Crusader Resistance story arcs via Ouroboros Flashback, and you get a badge for doing a Praetorian story arc via Ouroboros Flashback anyhoo. So, I deleted my Time Manipulation/Dual Pistols Defender, and remade him. This time I followed the guide again, but skipped all of the Crusader Resistance story arcs. I got to Neutropolis... and Provost Marchand would not offer me any Loyalist contacts again, and Calvin Scott only offered me the Crusader Resistance contact and his own story arc again. Defeated, I gave up, deleted my Time Manipulation/Dual Pistols Defender for a second time, remade him red side, and power leveled him to level 50. However, I would still like to be able to do this on one character, probably a Corruptor. Does anyone know if this bug has been fixed over the past five months? Is there a tip or a trick to get it to work?

I didn't think it would be a problem, but I just wanted to be on the safe side. Thanks, Number Six and UberGuy!

I just want to double check before I possibly do something stupid. Would it be possible to have two installations of the Homecoming launcher, without screwing up either one? They would be on two separate drives. Say C:\Homecoming and D:\Homecoming Would installing the Homecoming Launcher on the D drive possibly somehow screw up and/or interfere with the installation on the C drive?

issue 27 Patch Notes for May the 4th (be with you), 2021

Was the blinking Prestige Power Slide icon bug fixed as well in this patch? It seems to have been, as I haven't seen it all day. -
Remove Operative Renault's Ambush Entirely
Apparition replied to Katharos's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
You jest, but if the developers ever added a P2W temporary power that lets you spawn The Hamidon over top of Ms. Liberty in Atlas Park for two billion INF per pop, I'd be constantly broke. On a slightly more serious note, yeah, the Mercy Island ambush in the Operative Renault SF either needs to go or be moved to another zone after another mission. -
As far as I know, all forms of teleportation has always broken follow.

Sadly, Sentinels are a damage AT that simply does not do much damage. If you enjoy playing the character though, that is all that matters. Plus, know that the Sentinel AT inherent will be revamped somewhere down the road to make them do more damage.

issue 27 Patch Notes for May the 4th (be with you), 2021
Apparition replied to Jimmy's topic in Patch Notes Discussion
The mob spawn rates in Atlas Park and Mercy Island were so low that the people running the blue or red side Issue 21 story arcs respectively were competing with each other for mobs. Sometimes you had to wait around for the mobs to respawn, making the story arcs take much longer to complete than before. -
Honestly, the Homecoming player base is as big of an issue (or even bigger), than softcapped defenses, crashless nukes, and Incarnate powers. There is actually plenty of difficult content in the game, they just choose to never run it. Red side content is more difficult than blue side content. Gold side content is more difficult than red side content. But what does the majority of the Homecoming player base do? They continually run the easiest content (AE fire farms, PI Council radio farms, etc.), on the easiest side (blue side), refuse to play the more difficult content, and then cry that the game is too easy. It makes absolutely no sense.

I never thought until tonight that I would ever actually have to compete with other players for mobs in Mercy Island.

Well, now it's become clear why the acquisition talks between Microsoft and Discord fizzled. Sony now has a minority investment in (read: partially owns), Discord and will bring Discord to the PlayStation 5 sometime next year.

Bio and Electric are good, but don't discount Radiation Armor either. With enough recharge, Ground Zero pretty much is a damage aura.

Speed runs were done well, well, well before Homecoming, and well before Incarnates. My friends and I did mainly speed runs from Issue 12 onwards. Also, you could get Super Speed and one +stealth IO enhancement and have full stealth since... Issue 9? Somewhere around there. That's going back to 2007. Also, Paragon Studios removed the endurance crash from nukes in the Issue 24 beta, not Homecoming nor SCoRE.

Run story arcs, Task Forces, Strike Forces, and Trials. Rikti mothership raids and Hamidon raids are also a good source of reward merits.

Homecoming's 2nd Anniversary - Echo Plaza, Festivities & The Future
Apparition replied to Jimmy's topic in Announcements
Official ones will be, as will ones where people don't wish to exclude villain players I'd imagine. -
That is incorrect. I power level every character straight to level 50 now, and accolades work just fine when I malefactor below.
-
It's still really, really good. It's just no longer 30% above literally every other combination in the game good.

Updating inherent descriptions to be gender neutral please?
Apparition replied to Zappalina's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
That is why I always use “he or she” when the gender isn’t known. I was taught from elementary school through college that “they” is plural only, and seeing it used in the singular over the past couple of years confuses the heck out of me. Then again, I am in my mid-40s and therefore old. :P -
Arachnos is a big one for toxic, and they're all over the place at level 40+ red side.
-
Now that toxic defense is a thing as of Issue 27 (seriously, take a look at your combat attributes, it's there), what are some good sources of it? I noticed that Shadow Fall, Hover, Dispersion Bubble, and Energy Cloak all grant it. Has anyone noticed any enhancement sets that grant +toxic defense? I imagine this would be a good way to at least partially close the toxic hole in some builds like Electric Armor.

Possible ways to help support classes
Apparition replied to Wavicle's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
That helps on one TF. Believe it or not, there's more to CoH than the ITF. -
Possible ways to help support classes
Apparition replied to Wavicle's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Sure, they may be able to solo at +4x8, but melee slows down teams. A team of all "squishies" will absolutely melt all of the mobs on a map much more quickly than a team of all or mostly melee. -
Possible ways to help support classes
Apparition replied to Wavicle's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
The only melee AT that may need a nerf is Tanker. The other melee ATs are fine. They’re already pretty useless on teams, but there is really nothing that can be done about it. Like I have said before, it’s the game’s inherent trade off. Melee is good at soloing, while bad on teams. “Squishies” are bad at soloing, while good on teams. -
Probably been asked, but, out of curiosity

You know that the costume colorization for the no redraw Trick Arrow theme was intentionally removed, and that the pure white EMP Arrow is a bug which will be fixed with tomorrow's patch. I miss the colorization of my EMP Arrow as well, but it is what it is. Going on about it in Bug Reports when you know that it isn't a bug is a bit counter productive.
