  1. Totally had this happen on a Flashback myself.
  2. Before Set IOs I found Energy Blasters to be the best pound for pound fun and fight-wise when there is rhythm (I know the number crunchers can prove otherwise because FIRE but fun isn't a number), but everyone hates knockback and that is part of the core mechanic of Energy. You gotta keep the knockback baby. Someone in these forums occasionally has a quote along the lines of the best form of mitigation is a dead enemy and that is always how a Blaster should think in my opinion. Resistance . . . Defense . . . a Blaster craves not these things. If you move like a pre-IO Blaster needed to do in order to survive, you also learn how to position your cones and steer the enemy with your KB; Energy Torrent herds enemies quite well . I am telling you man, Energy as a primary with the KB not tampered with is awesome fun at range and not super problematic on a team of you are able to maneuver. Or hover up and blast down making it KD anyway. Remember KB takes time off the enemy attack clock, and not just their having to get up. You fling them and the clock is ticking and you can attack. then they land and go through their reset and stand up cycle and you can attack. With KD its fall down and they are in their get up cycle so less time for you to shoot them when they aren't shooting. Also, slamming foes into the geometry, wall sticking and object collision work for you (most of the time); knock a foe into a piece of gear (impaled on an object just like in Commando) and he might go through a constant reset cycle (why cant I pull myself off this pipe in my chest). Of course there are exceptions where you become a PITA member and maybe even a liability (though nowhere near as much as a standard MM with control deficiency). Hess final battle for one. Sewer Trial (though sweeping the catwalks for easy gun access . . . hmmm). And of course the rare time where you blow a dude through the geometry, which from a story standpoint is freaking awesome; I knocked his a$$ into another dimension . . . just like dad always threatened to do to me when I talked back to him . . . but I digress. Now secondary, well that's where it gets tricky because some are Blapperiffic and some are not and you said range was calling you. My original High Beam on Freedom was Energy/Cold, and this was before all of the Homecoming modifications. It worked good for her range but when I rebuilt her on HC I went with Mental Manipulation, which I am having to retool slightly because World of Confusion sucks. But the bottom line for me, from a play standpoint not a power player standpoint, whole lot of fun regardless of the Secondary.
  3. Di Di Guns is my DP/MC and my first real effort at being a Blapper. Tons of fun that hasn't ended even at level 50 with incarnates. She is very well built for Solo Work but also functions fluidly on any type of team. BoS is totally fun and using target macros I often slam in then slam two more times for fun. What is really great is when you have your attack chain good and tight you Bos in, fire off Hail of bullets which gives you a temporary buff to positional defenses, kills most minions then you do Scorpions Tail to sweep stragglers while the buff is up then backflip out and dump Empty Clips and Bullet Rain which generally leaves only a Boss (maybe) to which you BoS in again and then Eagles Claw his butt into the dirt. Its a beautiful bullet ballet that I never tire of seeing. And that's without procs in a variety of things. Set IOs obviously help her shine but there are ZERO Purples in there and she shined without them, just not as vividly Does she die? Sure occasionally, but usually when I am punching way above my paygrade or not paying attention. So many Blapper friendly tools in MC. So Secksi . . . But then again with a name like Di Di, she has to be.
  4. Text Error. Blaster -- Mental Manipulation -- Scare -- Alternative Attack Animation (Not Bright Mental Manipulation)
  5. They have Ripsaws! How can you not like a bad guy with a Ripsaw!
  6. I play on Excelsior and went to both Goblins and Pinks. Fun and great design. Got some cool stuff in the treat bag but really, just marveled at the design. Pinks was not really a haunted house per se but beautifully gothic looking space with a glorious cathedral feel. Goblins was a great maze haunted house especially when the Patient Zero Character (Necro MM) is following you around making you feel . . . well creeped out so mission accomplished.
  7. Oh Yeah was by Yello. Yello did the soundtrack for the Adventures of Ford Fairlane Wayne Newtons was in that.
  8. Don't watch that, watch this! This is the heavy heavy monster sound!
  9. Ugh. I mean Ugly. I mean Ugh . . . ugly. I see these bobblehead looking things and I want to vomit blood.
  10. ICP fans are starting to get lazy.
  11. OMG! That would be freaking awesome!
  12. They are in AP Role Playing Cat Girls.
  13. The Artisimal Mummies are effing relentless in their pursuit which alone is fun as eff. When one is on my hinder I cant help but keep saying "Coin" like the one from Scooby Doo. Coin! Coin!
  14. Still waiting for my M41A Pulse Rifle to be delivered from Hasbro Pulse.
  15. LOL
  16. I don't mean to interrupt but I got a delivery here for some gasoline. It says you ordered the matches separately and are just waiting. I don't know when you are gonna use it but someone needs to sign for it.
  17. Superman - But not so much everyone's super strength deal. I was more like Invulnerability and Flight is what makes me think of the Man of Steel. The Flash - Super Speed is the only thing I attribute to him. I know that isn't all he has but that what my mind evokes. In game, I think Flash when I see a super speeder, even if they are a pixie sized female character with butterfly wings and a vivid purple costume. The Punisher - Assault Rifle and Body Armor (Munitions Mastery). You have a rifle, that's who you are. That's who you were thinking of when you made your character and you know it 🙂 The Human Torch (Johnny Storm version) - Fire/Fire Blaster is spot of and the only thing I think of. You can be dressed as a cat girl and you are still Johnny Storm, cat girl. Wolverine - Claws/Regen - You know what you did and that's okay. But most don't truly evoke a specific hero (or villain) for me in large part because of the fact that they never quite fit. Sometimes it is pure costume aesthetic, the way the power manifests in game doesn't quite sync up with the character in comics. Other times its the mechanism of the power as it is rendered. That is part of why I enjoy the game so much because the powers don't fully mesh up with a specific character. You have a shield and some melee power but you aren't throwing it doing three point ricochet shots so you aren't the First Avenger. You have the costume and chose devices but you cannot be the Dark Knight because post comics code says no guns. You have the satin tights and you want to fight for our rights but try to make the powers work there, you cannot be the Princess of Themyscira. No webs no Spiderman . . . the list goes on and on. And that is great. That allowed me to make my own characters (albeit always locked into a specific gender but that was my choice) and therefore able to create my own stories. The Munitions' Mistress, a hard core merc and mother with a lot of issues. Krystala, a rock Blaster and renegade from the Circle of Thorns who now hunts them. Boom Boom Britta, the inexperienced Kineticist from Praetoria struggling after the loss of her home world. Runeslinger, the awesome magic girl and her awesome pistols Sigil and Glyph. Tempus Fabulous the temporal scientist from an alternate earth where science is respected who desperately tries to get people in this earth to listen to reason before its too late. All because the game evoked the spirit of super heroes not the super heroes themselves. I know it sounds like I am up on a soapbox, and I would be lying if I said I hadn't made characters inspired by comic characters (albeit Punisher with breasts), but the copies, the ones where I tried to be like those comics characters never lasted.
  18. Joke inbound, stand clear of blast zone: Defenders? It depends if you are talking old school comics or the Netflix series. Old school definitely take Dr. Strange. If you are talking Netflix then Luke Cage for sure. Joke detonation complete. Secure from alert.
  19. Yeah, the devs stated in a different post the mechanics behind why this was happening and that the time crunch precluded fixing it this season but will fix for the future. With that said, there is almost always a large League running in both PI and Kallisti Wharf where you can get in on the badge/Aether fun. If your goal is to knock on doors alone, maybe see if pulling up a Ouroboros mission below 25 will exemp you down to where you could door knock in say Talos and EBs shouldn't be in the mix (I have not tested that theory). Also, as a side note, I sat next to the Banner of Scorn in IP with a level 43 MM/Trap Merc with the boys on auto-fire and just wiped them as they spawned for 15 minutes, almost like the door experience except no badges.
  20. It's kind of secksi when it happens too. All of that Aether in one fell swoop makes ya tingly for a few seconds.
  21. Adjust your difficulty sliders.
  22. I totally hate Benny . . . and not just because of that suit jacket he's wearing.
