  1. So I'm leaping around Atlas then went to Skyway and I realized something - I don't know any of these streets by name. Do they have one or is Paragon City the subject of the U2 song "Where the Streets Have No Name"? So I am requesting the all the streets in Paragon, Praetoria and Rogue Isles have names. Maybe overlay the map / minimap with these names or somehow add street signs.
  2. I didn't look but I'm almost positive this has been brought up before. Can we please have the Character Description field in the I.D. section larger than 1023 characters? Maybe 65534?
  3. It's really cool to read all of these "zomg!" posts about returning to the game. Just gives me good feels and I'm just an onlooker. Very cool.
  4. Usually I focus on the toggles I have - Regen vs Defense vs Resist (or a combination of these). I slot up the toggles first. That then dictates if I take tough and or weave. Usually I take both but sometimes not. Then I do end management. Then I slot offense taking sets that fill out holes. I'm not worried about perma anything - except status effect toggles - so that *really* affects how I do this.
  5. If you're playing full screen windowed try switching to straight full screen. Also the two things that affect framerate the most are anti-aliasing and shadows. Decrease those (if you're able) until the game is more playable.
  6. Here's another which is a mixed bag for me - the ambushes. Now I really really like them! It's such a good idea and adds a lot to the game IMO. But, usually when I leave a door mission I call my contact and find the next place to go and hit my travel power and speed or jump or fly off. I REALLY don't like leaving a potential ambush hanging especially if I'm in a much lower level zone. So I don't know the answer to this. If I get an indication that an ambush is coming then it's not really an ambush, is it? Maybe make the mobs run faster? Maybe I need more patience. There have been times when I'll hang outside my (now) previous mission waiting for the potential ambush to arrive. It's very much a love / dislike aspect of the game for me.
  7. MA/WP. I just really like the MA animations and WP is just - I can scrap for days.
  8. Well the absolute first thing I'd suggest newer players do once they're out of the tutorial zone is go to the P2W vendor and get the 5 prestige enhancements for free. You slot them into your first few offensive powers and you're set with those slots to about level 18 or so. It's a good start IMO.
  9. From my experience the escort's range is less when you are stealthed.
  10. Yes, my "main" on live was a MA/Inv scrapper. I switched out Inv to WP because of ease of use. I like her much better now. She doesn't have the same name though. I was a little hesitant to changing out her spec because I wanted to be true to the original. But in the end if something bugs me about my chars I need to swap it out - whatever it is.
  11. Yes, like Munk said. I like to create a profile based on the cityofheroes.exe in the logitech software and bind mouse keys to keyboard keys (use keys you don'y use often). When the game launches the key mapping should switch over automatically. I have to alt-tab out of the game and back in to make the profle kick in.
  12. Yeah. My very very first character in 2003 I did but since then it just seemed like a waste of inf to buy an enhancement until DOs were available.
  13. Yeah I wouldn't play if it were a fantasy themed game. Like was said there's plenty of them out there and TBH if I fight another damned dragon it'll be too soon.
  14. Ah, well this may take a little more resources than needed but somehow there should be sort of a tracker of what arcs you have done and which you've missed. I think this is already in the game in a manner. So let's say you've been doing a lot of Skulls arcs but not as much Vahzilok. At some point there should be almost like an "emergency" contact that pops up which describes the almost-out-of-control-threat-good-thing-I-contacted-you Vahzilok arc. This arc should have it's difficulty increased (still affected by the field analyst) based upon how out of control it is. So let's say you're level 18 and you get this Vahzilok emergency contact which is a 10-15 arc. The difficulty should increase a little. If you get this in the 20s the difficulty goes up a little much more. All optional though.
  15. Yeah let's not overlook this. I've had missions where there were 12 potentially in aggro range. 2 are enough to kill you if everything hits within 2 "salvos". These guys are the main reason when I play a melee toon I keep the Throwing Knives or Apprentice Charms on my bar so I can (hopefully) pull one at a time.
  16. Yep! All in the same tab. For me it's because my attention span is... oh an email just came in. Let me check.
  17. One of the absolute most satisfying things in the game for me is when you see that Sorcerer turn on Hurricane or Cyclone (or whatever that power is called) or the COT Ghost turn on the dark aura and they start that animation and the power turns on... briefly because your first attack was a stun and the aura just drop off.
  18. Well for me part of the problem is I follow the bread crumbs. So It's Atlas > KR > Skyway / SC etc. I've not found the bread crumb that leads me to the Hollows. If I go there it's because I've ignored the contacts I do have and made it a point to go there.
  19. Fun: Freakshow. Malta, and Skyraiders. I like needing an order to attack. So for freaks it's the Super Stunners, Malta - Sappers, and Skyraiders - engineers. Annoying: COT until I get my accuracy high enough. Missing is annoying. I don't find anything overly boring. Maybe Outcasts and Trolls. Even those aren't terrible though.
  20. Let me chime in here a little more. I was kinda pressed for time before. I see both sides of this point. My feeling is that having the occasional conversation isn't a bad thing on the help channel because from it, maybe some helpful information may occur that then brings up a follow up question, and hopefully, an answer. I don't think help needs to strictly be ask -> answer. But when it does drown out a question then it's a problem. And arguments on help is a big, big no from me.
  21. To me there's nothing wrong with socializing in help. BUT (big but because I like big... er n/m) it becomes a problem IF (I like big IFs too) a help request gets ignored or drowned out due to the socializing.
  22. OK, great. Yes we actually are talking TB not GB. To determine if your motherboard has a m.2 slot you'll need to open the case and hopefully have a manual of your motherboard and see where the m.2 slot should be and then determine if your motherboard has it. I don't remember when m.2 started becoming prevalent - maybe the last 2 years? So yeah, I think getting a 1 TB SSD (whether it's sata or m.2 - depending on what your motherboard is capable of) is the best way to go. Should space become an issue down the road my suggestion is a NAS - with RAID 1. Nothing extremely fancy and they can be costly but I got one a few years ago and it's one of the best items I've purchased (computer-wise) in years.
  23. The two that come to mind right away are Energy Blast and Super Strength. Edit: Yeah, stone melee too.
