If you could radically overhaul 1 thing....
Xeres replied to Galaxy Brain's topic in General Discussion
Well, if -anything-, I'd port this over to a updated graphics engine which was also x64 and used more cores. In game, I'd take a shot at end game. i'd add an OPTIONAL gear treadmill. Optional. As in you don't have to do it. I know that isn't everyone's cup of tea, but more options is better than less IMO. -
I'm not going to PvP. COH isn't my first MMO, and I've PvPed in a few of them. I just don't enjoy it. My feeling is that if I want to battle other players, I'll fire up a FPS. The only thing that would make me PvP is a team / world setting which unlocked an instance or something like that - ie: Wintergrasp in WoW.

My fav character is a MA/WP scrapper. That is the point for me.

Yep. I was doing a MSR and poof.

I agree with you for the most part, but lately I've been taking the easy way out. There are some chars I want to "finish" as my alt-itis is almost cured for the moment, but I really don't want to run missions right now. But people play games to have fun, whatever that means. So, if questing to level does that, so be it. If getting to 50 to finish your build and go for incarnate things is your deal, so be it.

48 years old - 49 in Jan. One day I will "act my age", whatever that means. But, not today.

Name Assistance Brigade (The N.A.B.bers)

Hrm. Chance Mortem. -
Crazy limitations you put on yourself while playing
Xeres replied to wolfshadow31's topic in General Discussion
Hrm. Yep. Character concept is pretty important. I just won't take a power that I cannot envision the character actually doing, no matter how good it is. I'll try not to have 2 characters with the same color theme. Having only 6 characters this is easy so far. We'll see how long this one lasts. I almost always make my characters in twos. Hero and their villain nemesis (even though they will never see each other and will be in the same super group). My next character will be an additional baddie for my main so yeah. No perma anything. -
Now, I don't know how impossible this would be, but here goes anyway. I'd -love- to see a favorites tab added to the SG placeable items tab list and when you right click an item in another tab, that item is marked as a favorite and goes in the favorites tab as well. Clicking the item in the favorites tab then hitting delete key removes it from the favorites tab. Hopefully then the item would be able to be placed from the favorites tab. Or separate window. Or any other isolated container. This would be most useful, IMO. If this has already been suggested (I didn't check) then count this as another up vote for this suggestion from me.

I do exactly the same thing. I create my characters in twos.

I don't get why this is so much better than CO
Xeres replied to Warpstarr's topic in General Discussion
Well, I played both a lot. I think CO came out 5 years after COH did so the graphics thing - CO should be better. But, for me there's three things that COH does much better that is the deciding factor. 1. Powersets. Even though you could grab amost any power from any set in CO, I still like the powerset + power pool system here. It just gives the characters a better theme to them. 2. Villain groups. None of the villain groups in CO are worth remembering. I played that game for 4 years and the only villain group I remember were the robotic cowboys because the concept was just that stupid. But even though I hadn't played COH since 2009 until Homecoming I remembered many many of those villain groups here. 3. Other people touched on this, but the community here, even during live, was just much better. In fact, toward the end of when I played CO, the community there was really bad. -
Jetski mechanic. I can't find one anywhere.

I thought I was the only person who felt like this. I read comics (WW being my favorite) until the travesty that was #600, which DC didn't even want to do, and to celebrate that many years of being in print, dumped everything and went in yet another "bold new direction" for WW. It was then I realized I was sick and tired of these bold new directions, and reboots, events - when they happen so often seem more and more uneventful, and just all of the typical comic book tropes which I couldn't stand anymore. I stopped reading then and since I've sort of kept tabs on what's been going on, and TBH, I dropped comics at a good time because I'm not a fan of what's gone on since from what I have heard. At all.

I'm an IT person.

As a MA/WP is my main I feel the need to chime in. Love: Animations. Don't mess with this please. They're quick and good looking, even Eagle's Claw. Dislike: Dragon's Tail does less damage than Cross Punch with Kick and Punch taken. A main power should -never- fal. behind a similar PP power even if there are two other powers taken to boost that PP. I think the power set in general needs a boost in damage. Whether it's a straight number increase or something more creative like a buff that acts as a "belt system". 1-10 White belt buff, - maybe +5% damage. 11-20 - Yellow belt buff, 6.5%, 21-30 - Blue - 8%, 31-40 - Red - 9.5%, 41-49 Brown - 11%, 50 - Black - 15%. Maybe even a mission to get the black belt or any of the belts. All of that being debatable on the numbers, etc.

I thought it was a dance like the Jelly Roll.

Wow. I don't have Firey Aura Brute, nor do I have a Mastermind and I do have a rare Elec/Elec blaster.

I think this zone should be a tougher than usual zone - maybe the TF(s) should be incarnate level. I think there shouldn't be many civilians on the street, and the enemy groups should be few. My idea for the back story is that some Praetorian(s) (I'm not sure who) fled Praetoria into the this world, and have teamed up with an off-shoot of Arachnos. This offshoot of Arachnos wants Arachnos to take more firm control of the Rogue Islands and overthrow Recluse. These two factions (Praetorians and off-Arachnos) set up camp in KW - Praetorians mostly on the "hero side" and Arachnos mostly on the "villain side". But, both want to keep a low profile, so, the "street-level" enforcers are either Skyraiders or Family on the Hero side and Family or Tsoo on the villain side. Both off-Arachnos and Praetorians are in negotiations with Crey for weaponry so a few Crey are sprinkled in street-side. All of these street-level groups are kept in line and backed up by Malta who both off-Arachnos and Praetorians have convinced or hired to do so. Maybe Malta likes this over-controlled vision they have. The idea would be that the more street clearing that happens, you'll get Malta response teams (like the Rikti spawns during invasions). These response teams get larger the more people in the party and the more previous teams you've defeated. No hospitals for you here, when defeated you spawn in an instanced jail that you need to break out of like in door missions. The TF's story would sort of peel the layers from the street enforcers to Malta to the off-Arachnos / Praetorian conglomerate. No Rikti invasions here though. Maybe atop some buildings are Crey / Malta inspired anti-air with some stolen Rikti technology.

If you post LFG or LFM on the help channel and did it deliberately.

My leveling pace I think would be best described as snail-like. I've been playing since May and I have 1 level 40 - 4 level 34 and 1 level 17. But I am having loads of fun.
-
Well like others said this game released in 2003. The MMO landscape was very, very different and this game was challenging to level but not so much more than other games I had played up to that point. I still remember one of the the first KR missions was to kill 10 COT. I'd say you'd get this mission about level 6 or so. They were on rooftops at night and you didn't have a travel power yet to up the fire escape you went. Then when you reached the top they were orange (if you were lucky) red or purple.
-
Yeah I agree with the NcSoft thing. Anything after that I don't have anything specific.
-
Like others said it doesn't matter that much anymore., but I still like having it in the game.

I would say fire as Katana is a pretty end light set. The only thing to worry about IMO is Knockdown and Immobilize I think /Fire has those holes.
