  1. Up until page 4, I only ran it when there were badges involved. Now they're adding a new currency from hard mode so I might run it more often (since you need the new currency to get badges).
  2. Well I'm even older and grouchier now so whoever necro'ed this thread needs to get off my lawn!
  3. Here's a much cooler looking naked mole rat. This is Rufus from the 'Kim Possible' cartoon.
  4. You can't look at the numbers NOW. Some people have been panic-converting once this was announced. Looking at the numbers from 2 or 3 months ago and comparing with the past month would be interesting, though.
  5. Some builds use a lot of END. Most of my characters take all the Leadership toggles. Toggle Man runs 18 toggles. When I 3-slot Stamina, I'll have the Performance Shifter proc, Perf Shifter endmod (so I get a set bonus) and an endmod common IO. The proc will be min level so I can slot it early, the other two pieces will be level 50 and (if I need it) boosted. On a related note, the Panacea proc gives you more END than any other single IO, including the Miracle +rec.
  6. I have no strong opinion on the first question. On the second, I say absolutely not since that would facilitate gold farmers / RMT.
  7. I speculate that they don't want to implement a rule that they have admitted they are unable to enforce.
  8. I think a better question is how it affects YOUR economy. Some items should be dumped at the vendor because it's not worth your time to list them on the market. Some items will get you A LOT more inf if you list them on the market.
  9. Absolutely brilliant. I just saw this thread because of a new post, loaded all the files, and ran thru Founders Falls to check it out. This is fantastic since you just need to hit a single key to go to the next item once you've loaded a zone. I have a keybind file that I automatically load on every character and I just bound this popmenu to one of the F keys.
  10. Pshaw! Playing this game demonstrates less maturity than 'adult' games like golf or poker? 😛
  11. They don't. I've verified this many times. Like while I was soloing the Yin TF three times last week.
  12. It shouldn't be too hard. They apparently have the 'slidey' effect set up so that it can be applied to various surfaces. We've seen various frozen lakes we could slide around on.
  13. Right. There's no guarantee or contract. Kind of like with crowdfunding. Oh look, Star Citizen has raised over $490 MILLION dollars and is still in alpha.
  14. The situations are not really comparable. Back on live, we had 12 characters slots per shard unless we paid extra. Now, we have 1,000 per shard. That makes grabbing names that you 'might play some day' trivial, rather than using up valuable character slots. Edit: Also, it was never run again because the devs said it didn't free up many names. In this very thread, GM Impervium said: "But yes, under-leveled, unplayed characters are a huge deal, and I can guarantee a LOT of names are going to get freed up!"
  15. I would turn that around a bit and say: To someone with a sense of entitlement, it seems like no one is listening to them. Which is, of course, crazy. Since they are OBVIOUSLY a knowledgeable expert and should be listened to. If no one is listening to their sage advice, it MUST be because there is some kind of conspiracy going on. No other explanation makes sense!
  16. Laura Lockhart's arc. The first time you do it, it doesn't have a happy ending. But, if you run it again via Ouroboros, you get to rewrite the ending with the help of the Menders. Plus you get the badge 'Guardian of Forever', which is pretty cool Star Trek reference. I also rather like the mission where you get to throw the bad guy out the window of his office. That was . . . unexpected. I don't remember who the contact is.
  17. Despite not being from Canada, I actually know who Wilfred Laurier is - from playing Civilization. 🙂 Edit: And I know what a 'two-four' is from Bob and Doug McKenzie on SCTV, although it's not hard to get from context.
  18. I will see your cat with a foil hat and raise an additional foil hat.
  19. A few more days and it will be 'The Borderline Pathetic AE Debate'.
  20. Probably, but it never even takes a full day. And these aren't little donations. Based on the total dollars and number of donations, the average is almost $29.
  21. I don't think so - just the name. The three Gorgons were Stheno, Euryale and Medusa (who was killed by Perseus).
  22. Is it possible you're on the wrong server? Maybe instead of Homecoming, you had the missing characters on Thunderspy or Rebirth? Have you played on multiple servers? We're asking these questions because I don't recall ever seeing a situation where characters actually disappeared. Every time, it has turned out that the player was on the wrong server, wrong shard, wrong account, the characters had moved to the 3rd or 10th page, etc.
  23. Well, it had two things I couldn't get in Dual Pistols - a long-range sniper attack to lead off with and a hold.
  24. He's serious about the half trillion influence. As for 2800 characters, I haven't seen him play a lot of different characters so I don't think he actually plans to make that many. He'll correct me if I'm mistaken. 😛
  25. You're not missing anything. I did this back on live (hoarding more inf than I could ever spend). It was a game within a game. I employed every possible method of accumulating wealth back then. It was just something to do. Now, I don't. I work the market a little to ensure I have all the inf I will ever need but I have around 1/20th of what I had back then. It's still more than I think I can spend, but now it's just a margin of safety and not hoarding for the sake of hoarding. What changed? I dunno. I just don't feel like it now. Edit: Upon further thought, maybe what changed is that, back then, CoH was the ONLY online game I played. When it shut down, I diversified and now I just don't spend as much time in CoH as I used to. Edited again: So, yeah, that's a good question you posed. I would guess that it's kind of like badging - just one more way to compete. FYI, my main has every badge. 🙂
