OH right, and the demons cast their shield on the MM as well. May be worth asking a dev about.

I thought it was intended that the henchmen which provide buffs only provide them to the other henchmen?

I highly recommend firing this up on Brainstorm if you're not convinced by it just yet. I decided to roll one up, set it to 50, and then bumbled a build. I only "test" things at +0/x4 because I know I'm not good at building a character yet and I could see where I messed up right after I set the powers and slots, but was too lazy to run a respec and start over. In my brief playing, here's what I noticed so far: It's fun. Thugs are already pretty powerful, and I feel like the -res provided from /Sonic and the Achille's Heel proc in Enforcers and Liquefy helps. You are mostly definitely going to need some form of crowd control. I just ran against some Council and those damn wolves run like nobody's business, on top of the fear effects provided by the Arsonist. I grabbed Electric Fences from the Mu pool, but I'm not sure it was a great choice; I was having issues keep more than 2-3 mobs immobilized--the best use of it I found was to Fold Space them to me then attempt to immobilize them. Liquefy is also helpful for this when it's available. The thugs and bruiser accept the Force Feedback +Recharge proc With /Sonic having 3ish skippable powers and not needing a ton of slotting in the powers you do take, it opens up a lot of options for Power/Epic Pool choices. I probably could have upped the difficulty with relative ease were I not half asleep and more confident in my abilities. Though I think the issue of the Arsonist making mobs run might make me, personally, hesitate to go +4/x8 until I learn how to play better, unlock incarnates, etc. They took almost no damage against even level Council thanks to a combo of their leadership buffs, my (enhanced) res shields, my leadership toggles, and their proc bonuses, so it will be interesting to see how they fare against the harder content, especially once you start level shifting with incarnates. I only played for like 30ish minutes, so take my experience with a grain of salt, but I totally think this combo is worth playing and experimenting with. I look forward to rolling one on the live servers and leveling it a little more organically to get a feel for how to play it better. 🙂 Just thought you might be interested.

I apologize, I don't have any advice, but after seeing your post, I'm now immensely intrigued by this combo because it seems like it has the potential to be fun both as a solo combo and team combo. Bruiser gets to wear the hula hoop, thugs are pretty tanky, and then the other bonuses you mentioned. I put procs into Liquefy on beta, but I'm not sure if it's a pseudopet and idk how to track if those sorts of things are actually working or not. I am pretty sure the enforcers can take the Achilles Heel proc, which will boost the -res even further. Only thing missing is heals, but that can be handled by the medicine pool for leveling, and isn't as big of an issue once you hit the later levels and start getting IO's and incarnates going. Thanks for the new alt idea Biostem! lol

issue 27 Focused Feedback: Symphony Control
TygerDarkstorm replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
Thanks Cap, this is quite informative. 🙂 I'm still a bit bummed to lose my tanky Reverb that made /Sonic quite fun to solo with, but I will adjust accordingly. I do hope that you guys will be able to get the AI to be slightly more aggressive than it currently is where you practically have to drag him into melee anyway before he'll engage. I am quite excited for Symphony Control to be released--I just adore the differences in the set that make it stand out from the other control sets. Thank you all for the hard work you put in for this community. ❤️ -

If you read CP's update, he said they're still tweaking the AI of the pet so he'll behave better, but that he'll stay ranged. -
Getting prepared for my semester to start and the little one to start kindergarten, but if my schedule allows it, I'm trying to get Ruff Ruff Boom - AR/Devices Blaster to level 45 for Lady Grey (currently have her sitting at 42). Actually, cancel that @TrixieKixx. I forgot that my daughter got invited to a birthday party this Saturday, so that's where we'll be 🙂

TygerDarkstorm replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
I see what you guys are saying and I understand better now. I could definitely see the previous behavior being quite a liability on doms. Hopefully I will get the chance to fiddle around with it more in beta and see how to make the new changes work, while also hoping that the AI can be tweaked so he operates a little bit better when following you and engaging in attacks. Especially since he copies our moves and doesn't provide his own attacks. While my previous playstyle with the old AI was quite fun, I will now shift gears into learning a new strategy. Can't improve if I don't learn and try to adjust with the changes/playstyle. 🙂 -
Sorry, I definitely didn't catch it as a joke. The 4ish hours of sleep I got last night clearly weren't enough.

issue 27 Focused Feedback: Symphony Control
TygerDarkstorm replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
As posted by myself and others previous, the Reverb with the Basic AI was not really a suicide pet. The little bugger is damn tanky, and made more so by secondaries that can buff it. And I was in range, often times with mobs right on top of me and the darned thing wouldn't use cone abilities from where it was behind me. If this is the intended use/purpose of this pet, then, imo, the pet is totally skippable and the set will nearly play better without it since it doesn't help and you're lucky if it copies your abilities. Before this change the Reverb was tanking and helping me control 2 spawns, and it made a secondary like /Sonic a joy to solo with. Regardless, I understand they intend it to be a ranged pet, for which I hope they have a means of tinkering with the AI a bit so he is as you said, @Bionic_Flea; not quite fire imps level of insanity (which I didn't feel it was, but I think others had issues with it), but also not wait until I get swamped in mobs to attack. At this point, it's trying to decide if I want to make /Sonic work, if I want to roll with a different secondary, or if perhaps this just means that I am not a skilled enough player to play Symph as is. I will have to see if I can put some more time into the beta to play with it more than the brief session I did last night. -
How? The kiss it emote already exists in game, and unless you're in the Arena, you're not fighting other players where you would even be able to activate taunt. If they wanted to abuse it, they already would be with the emotes.

issue 27 Focused Feedback: Symphony Control
TygerDarkstorm replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
I mean, I certainly wouldn't want Symphony to get some sort of special treatment just because the secondary I chose to pair it with is no longer optimal. If this is really how the devs want the set to go, then I need to either work around it, or scrap the character and reroll with a diff secondary when the page goes live. I'm disappointed, of course, but not looking for special treatment from the devs. Frankly it feels like the pet got nerfed all around as I'm seeing other posts of Symph users now saying it lags behind and is not firing off attacks as intended. @ExeErdna I caught your post as I was working up this reply and am glad to see I'm not the only one kind of disappointed in this change (or using /Sonic as a secondary for Symph lol). Reverb being put on the ranged AI feels like a nerf to the pet's utility and usefulness. My troller doesn't have the confuse power, but I definitely felt like it was really only copying my attacks when I would fire off the single target ones, and like it wasn't using the cones at all. I feel like this change to the pet won't affect dom's as much since the pet doesn't feel as useful on them and they get the assault secondaries, but it definitely hurts some troller combos. Or maybe it just makes me a noob that the pet now won't close in and tank for me, idk, but I really liked the original implementation/AI for Reverb. It certainly neuters a set like /Sonic's ability to solo though since on live I won't have all the freebies I gave the toon on Brainstorm, like accolades, incarnates, IO sets, etc. @Booper @Captain Powerhouse Is there some sort of happy medium for the Reverb? I understand wanting it to better utilize the cone attacks, but it currently doesn't even seem to be doing that. It just lags around even more than the issues it was having before and rarely engaging in combat, often waiting until you've waded into a spawn, or only firing off the single target attacks, resulting in the effects listed above in my post. It went from awesome to "meh, might skip." -
Yes please! Would love to have robo-ears as an option to be seperate for the reasons you gave. 😄

Oh yes, this would be a nice addition. Especially for those sets whose taunt is just the sort of plain come hither animation.

The AT and power sets that you've particularly enjoyed
TygerDarkstorm replied to User's topic in Archetypes
Ugh, I have so many that have turned out fun or amusing, it's hard to choose. I'm not usually a play at level 50 content kind of person, but when I do want to do that, of my 5ish 50's, I usually grab my Demons/Storm MM first. She's not even fully built out yet but brings pain, chaos, and destruction to her foes and it's just so much fun controlling the battlefield and keeping things flopping (I have all KB's converted to KD because I annoyed myself with the KB lol). Other honorable mentions: For AT's, MM's are definitely one of my favorites, I probably have about 10-20 of them, lol. I've always been drawn to pet classes. Support AT's are my other usual go-to's AR/Kin Corr is surprisingly fun so far Stj/Stone Brute is amusing Fire/Rad Sent can pull some neat tricks out of its hat I create characters for concept, so a lot of times, when a concept really sticks and starts fleshing out, it becomes more fun. My Plant/Rad controller who dipped into the Experimentation power pool because she's a mad scientist. I'm so starved for power picks on her that I skipped the rez in Rad (and she's a villain, so it makes sense for the character as well), but she'll cheerfully cause her fallen comrades' bodies to explode and then thank them for donating their bodies to science (still trying to figure out how to make a macro/bind for that). My Pain/Beam defender who is a succubus who likes technology and thus her beam rifle is what she uses to channel her chi stealing/harming powers. My DB/EA stalker who is sort of an homage to General Grievous from Star Wars -
Whatever happened to Fire/Rad trollers???
TygerDarkstorm replied to The_Warpact's topic in Controller
Yeah, same. My memory is about as good as Dory's most of the time, but I always remember Fire/Kin being a thing, but maybe that's because the AE and farming in it were getting big. I can't see why Fire/Rad wouldn't be good stuff. My Plant/Rad troller is a blast, and I imagine Fire pairs even more nicely since it wants to be in melee anyway for Hotfeet. It's not big damage, but for a sort of different combo, Ice/Rad is also pretty fun and complementary. -
issue 27 Focused Feedback: Symphony Control
TygerDarkstorm replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
Hrm, I get the idea to maximize the cone coverage, but it really doesn't feel like it's playing nearly as well as before. It tends to not want to interact at all and lags way behind me whereas before it would get involved. If this new behavior is intended, then I'm not sure /Sonic will remain a good pairing for Symph outside of teaming. I will have to figure out if I want to keep that secondary, and figure out how to change my strategy now that the Verb's behavior has changed. If he's going to stay this way then he needs some Adderall or something to wake him up, because as is, my controller felt significantly weaker and less fun, and that was at -1 Council (forgot I had level shifted the character and thus had my difficulty still set at +0/x4). -

TygerDarkstorm replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
Aw man, I just logged onto the beta after seeing this (haven't been on in a while) and loaded up my Symph/Sonic troller. And man, you weren't kidding. Part of the reason I was enjoying this combo was because the Verb was acting as a mini tank for me with the sonic buffs. I even picked up Enflame in Sorcery for this reason, but yeah, now he's just lagging behind and feels like he's deploying his attacks slower than before. He went from being pretty awesome to kinda meh. What happened? -

Ha, interesting. I wasn't even going for a knitted sweater look, it just happened to turn out that way. 😅 It's supposed to be metalish, but I didn't like the way the shiny version looked. -

Some newish ones. This first gal's name is inspired by the Androids of DBZ, though I wanted to make sure she's also different from them as she's not a true homage. This is Android v.9 - AR/Kin Corr Featured with the other two initial members of our Hollows team as we all loved each other's looks. On the viewer's left is Colonel Neutron, and to the right is Puff R Fish. My Beast/Rad MM: One in a Melon, featured with Watermelon, Cantaloupe, Honeydew, and Crenshaw. And the Beast of Earth, my StJ/Stone Brute; the last pic I took because the invis she has from a team member makes it so you can see through her armor and I thought that was amusing. I have a Beast for each element; I'll have to post them all up. -
What does it mean to be Level 50 versus Incarnate?
TygerDarkstorm replied to UltraAlt's topic in General Discussion
Same, I have a character or two that might end up following the lore because it fits their story and/or for shiggles, but for the most part, whichever Incarnates I take on my characters are those that fit their theme and are an extension of what they are already capable of doing, just stronger. -
Masterminds have wanted changes for years now.
TygerDarkstorm replied to eldriyth's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I'm actually for this sort of thing. I have tech characters that tech sets like Kinetics and Gravity Control and such, and while I can pretend they're using their gadgets and imagine how it would look in my head, it would be amazing if these sorts of concepts could be made more realistic, though I realize how time consuming and difficult that would likely be given this game's ancient spaghetti code. I have a TA/Dark Defender whose bow is magically gifted and what gave her her Dark powers, so it would be cool if the bow had a shadowy aura and maybe the TA abilities were tinted with shadows or used the Dark projectiles. This is to say, I totally get what you're saying now and I'm all for it if there were a way for them to implement it. This game is all about character concept (it's frequently repeated that "concept is king" in game and in the forum), and this would go a long ways toward allowing people to solidify their concepts. -
What is the set you would definitely play on Corruptor?
TygerDarkstorm replied to Lyrium's topic in Corruptor
As a bonus on top of this, play it on a Corr and watch all those delightful Scourge ticks come in. 🙂
