  1. You have to choose between flares and fire blast and typically people take flares because it has a better DPA than fire blast.
  2. You can, sure, but if you want to help them do the most damage, you're going to want to take those attacks. Taking MM attacks isn't all that bad, either. Helps with kill speed while leveling and many of them can be procced out to actually deal decent damage. If you really don't want to have your MM attacks, then I'd probably avoid beasts or demons since they both benefit from the MM taking at least 1 attack. (I'm not saying you *can't* play these primaries without taking a personal attack, just that they're a fair amount more effective if you do). Necro/Sonic is fun, effective, and thematic (think banshee or wraith). I have a Necro/ElecAff that could easily be made thematic by saying she "Frankensteins" her zombies to life. Necro/Nature can be made to work as a sort of, from death comes life theme. /ElecAff is great with pretty much every MM primary as it makes pretty much all the henchmen pretty tanky and can even keep the squishier guys healed up. You can make pretty much any combo work conceptually if you put enough effort into it. My Bots/Nature is a team of robots led by a bot named Environmentabot whose sole purpose is to try to protect the environment and replant trees and such. Sometimes her duties include taking out bad guys. My Demons/Cold MM is a play on Sarah Palin who went a bit crazy losing the election and not being taken seriously in the political world, so she turned to demon summoning and harnessing the powers of Alaska to show America what she's made of.
  3. I only saw it mentioned once and very briefly, but I have a Bots/Nature MM that I find to be quite fun and useful. I like to use my fairy patch to try and stage an attack area for my bots (put them on go-to in the patch). I feel like the two sets synergize more than what they seem to be credit for (though they are a tad difficult conceptually). I debuff and hold foes while they go to town with their lasers, and nature is chock full of goodies to keep their health topped up. And that's just with her on generic IO's for the moment--she's in her 40's, so soon I'll be looking to start getting her sets, and she should become even more fun and tanky.
  4. She's a blaster, not a controller or dom, lol.
  5. @TrixieKixx I'm gonna bring Marsh Madness - Water/Plant Blaster
  6. A lot of the customizations are quite non-plant like so I wasn't sure whether to include them.
  7. I almost included thorns/spines, but wasn't sure if they counted.
  8. Plant Control Nature Affiliation Idk what else you could use that fits the theme. Maybe /Plant on a blaster.
  9. I'd like to reserve a spot, but not sure which toon to bring yet, so list me as TBD please. 🙂
  10. Poison Prodigy - Poison/Dark Defender My aim with this first look of hers was to try and resemble (or at least reference) a poison dart frog. Fractyl - Shield/Stone Tanker She is a sort of stone golem protector. I haven't quite worked it out yet. Voltarra - Electric/Ninja Blaster I couldn't resist the temptation to make a sith-based character using this combo (yes, her sword looks like a red lightsaber), but since I personally don't like acting as if those sorts of things exist here, I had her be more of a Star Wars fan a little too obsessed with the dark side and Imperial order, that she has used her scientific abilities and knowledge to imbue herself with sith-like powers so she might bring about a new world order. It's still a WIP. A bit cliche, I'm sure, but I love her look all the same.
  11. I don't really play Rad much because I hate the long feeling cast times and feeling like I'm not useful, so I wasn't sure if Entangling Aura and Choking Cloud are the same, but I think they're at least similar. PBAoE toggle that has a chance to hold enemies that are in it.
  12. Is it not similar to Entangling Aura in Nature?
  13. Edit: I linked a thread that proved me wrong, lol. You may be right. There seems to be some confusion on how BG mode works. My apologies. No, it doesn't. It only works in Defensive, Follow. Bodyguard mode is a very specific thing. And at its most useful when soloing. There are plenty of reasons to leave BG mode, especially if you're on a team. From these forums: From the wiki: Mastermind Bodyguards: You can set any Mastermind pet to Bodyguard by selecting the Defensive Stance and the Follow(*) Orders. Your pets must be within Supremacy range for this function to work.
  14. I went AR/TacArrow on my shooty blaster; liked that TA offers a build up since AR doesn't have one. Haven't really played it though, so idk what it's like fully yet.
  15. Bodyguard is only in effect when your pets are set to Defensive, Follow mode.
  16. That was a lot of fun, as always. 😄 Glad I got to be there this week. Next week I won't be able to make it because we're taking a family trip out to Las Vegas.
  17. Man this is a bitchin' look! I may be stealing parts of it later lol
  18. Since I don't see MM taken, I may end up bringing one of my MM's tomorrow morning instead of my Crab. I have not had a chance to log into the game all week due to school, but I still want to do this tomorrow. Edit: Since Foxie is only level 35, I'll be there tomorrow morning on Environmentabot, Bots/Nature MM; I'm too tired to get my Crab leveled up even though I'd like to play her.
  19. I just think it's funny, but I don't take it seriously by any means. A good chunk of my characters in CoH use capes. My characters use a lot of those features in that Cracked article too, doesn't mean the article isn't funny.
  20. I agree, it is bizarre that it happens, but pet AI has always been a bit wonky. I figure knowing the work around will help until the devs can look into it (if it's not working as intended). 🙂
  21. Oh my, I adore these! Great way to make creative use of the costume creator. 🙂
  22. So, there is a trick around this. You have to use the Go-To command and put them as close to the door as the command will allow, and then use the Attack My Target Command. They should then engage with the door.
  23. Oooo, gonna have 2 VEATS there next week? We gonna be bringing all the yummy buffs, lol
  24. If I'm not swamped with school work next week, I'll be there on Foxie Heart - Crab Soldier (And hologram? Would that be like using the spectrum costume pieces?)
