  2. Just to iterate on the bolded part: Homecoming is not the only CoH server group in operation. If folks really don't like Homecoming's direction, they have the option to go play on one of those server groups or start their own server because the code is out there. (And no, this is not a "if you don't like it than leave" comment, just simply that the options are there for someone who gets fed up enough/decides it's not for them.) But yes, it is nice to know the folks running the game do play it as well because sometimes I have wondered about it. I appreciate the Homecoming team and what y'all do for us.
  3. Then this is what needs to be in your OP
  4. My dad used to work in city planning so this is extra funny to me, lol.
  5. I will not be there for the next two weeks. Good luck to you all!
  6. You are so hung up on one word I chose, lol. You are taking that word so literally that you have pulled anything else I said out of context. Sure, fine, it's a QoL thing and saying whether it's needed or not is whatever. Doesn't take away from the concerns regarding it brought up by myself and others.
  7. This still isn't super clear. Do you mean adding someone as a friend? Or do you mean having the global friends list menu pop up as the default friends menu instead of the server one? I could get behind the second option (or letting it be an option people can select as the default). No to the first option. Also, this thread is a good note for folks making suggestions--please make your suggestion super clear and thought out so if the devs decide to read it, they understand what it is you're asking for.
  8. Oh don't worry, he came at me too and miscontrued my point lol.
  9. They literally specified using attuned IO sets to level up to then "detune" them so they can turn them into level 50 boosted IOs; this discussion was never about strictly level 50 gameplay.. My comment is in regard to that strategy regarding that it's not a common or even totally recommended strategy even if "detuners" were a thing because if you're someone concerned about inf (which the OP of this has posted on other threads about, so I'm aware of their post history), then you would slot level 25 common IOs and ride those out to level 50 and then do your level 50 respec into sets and boosting needed IOs. The detuner doesn't seem necessary -- aka it's not needed in the game and is looking for an easy way out of making build decisions, part of which include how you get to 50 and what you do once there. Not to mention, not all IO's go up to level 50, some commonly used IO sets stop at like level 30, so in this request, are we now also looking to boost those to 50+? And on top of which, it's not necessary to boost every single level 50 IO in your build, as was pointed out by several other players in this thread. Even the people running the hardest content in the game aren't boosting every single one of their IOs (which is kind of how the OP post reads; that they're wanting to swap an attuned build for a fully boosted build).
  10. This is one of the most commonly recommended leveling techniques I've seen given on the boards here and in game.
  11. If you're that worried about funding while leveling up, it's not strictly necessary to keep swapping out enhancements or using attuned ones to get to 50. One fairly inexpensive method for leveling is to slot level 25 common IOs in your character and use those to level up to 50, then once you start getting your sets for a respec, you strip those common IOs and put them in storage for another alt to use. The detuner doesn't seem necessary and is bordering on the "I want an easy win" button for me. Your slotting/build choices should require thought and effort.
  12. That sounds delicious! What a neat way to do the stuffing.
  13. It's called jousting, my dude. You jump in and out of a group of mobs as needed.
  14. Why are you being unnecessarily rude to a player trying to ask questions and learn things? It's not like they're a troll poster. Your initial post of the link meant nothing, and your follow up is really distasteful. It's not immediately obvious when looking at the forums that just the name Archetypes has its own area to post in because you see the breakdown of all the individual ATs. You could have made a much kinder and more relevant post the first time by linking the Archetypes forum and saying something to the effect of In the future/just so you know, generic questions about ATs belong to this forum and not the general discussion forum. And if it's such a *huge* deal to have Burt's post here in Gen Discussion, then report it and have the GM's move it to the AT forum. But there was zero need for the condescending attitude that comes across in this comment.
  15. I would imagine it depends on which kinds of buffs (I don't think any pets are affected by recharge buffs), but I know for sure the Umbra Beast can be healed at least, and likely takes damage buffs and the like. I use my Umbra Beast for chaining off Elec aff powers as it's up more consistently than the pet Elec Aff comes with. I am not confident about whether the shades can be buffed/healed as I've never really paid attention; I'm not typically concerned about keeping them up because they despawn anyway and have to be resummoned no matter what.
  16. There was a thread about this on the forums a bit ago... A huntsman is a like a bane that takes the gun attacks? I think that's what it was. Found the thread; it appears to be what I thought:
  17. Yeah, I know nothing behind the math in how the game calculates threat, but Ice Armor is a threat magnet. Like I said, my baby Ice Tanker was pulling threat even without using taunt from tankers much higher in level than her. Perhaps something between the combo of Icicles and Chilling Embrace helps keep the baddies glued?
  18. I don't have like detailed knowledge since I'm not a number cruncher, but what I do know of Ice Armor is that you will have ALL THE AGGRO and ain't no one taking it from you. I have a little Ice/Claws tank who was doing a TF or missions with higher level tankers/brutes and kept ripping their aggro away. Like many of the older armor sets, it's dated, has holes, and other armor sets do what Ice does better. I still think it's fun though and really need to spend more time with mine.
  19. Apparently my reading comprehension skills need some work then; my apologies. And agreed. MM's are in desperate need of a new primary and for the primaries who didn't get the update pass to also receive one (especially poor Beasts). I do hope we get some dev attention soon for a new primary.
  20. So long as the henchmen splitting into the smaller slimes doesn't stop me from having controllable henchmen (as that's why I play an MM), then I'm not totally opposed to the slime splitting idea. Initially your idea kinda reads like you can't resummon your controllable henchies once they've split off, but I'm sure this has probably been clarified through your discussion with Rudra; I admittedly haven't gone through all of that discussion. Dozens of uncontrollable pets running around though isn't necessarily OP, just annoying for aggro drawing purposes. Mostly I feel like it would be an issue with the coding/game engine. Like I said, I'm not opposed to the idea at all. I know we won't get it, but it would be neat to see what the dev's think of its plausibility. There have been many, many MM primary suggestions, as I'm sure you've seen; this one stands out as one of the better, more interesting and unique ideas. I think it would be super fun to play and would be a natural pairing for /Marine
  21. Slime pets, presumably, would be colorable since they seemingly would be able to be on models that allow for that sort of thing, which would mean Elemental Infusion would override the colors of the powers chosen for your pets. Unless your plan is to have the slimes not be recolored to fit in with the powers. I may have over-thought it by assuming the slimes would recolor like the other powers, but I suppose there isn't current precedence for that among current MM primaries. If it's that case, then the Infusion would potentially override the player's chosen colors if the upgrade powers give the slimes auras like Necro and Beasts get. Regardless, I mentioned it purely as something to think about because customization is important to a lot of folks in this game and Elemental Infusion sorta forces them to have their henchies look a certain way if they were otherwise allowed to be colored differently. It may also be a more minor issue than I think. 🤷‍♀️ I still like the general concept of the powerset. I do think that the slime splitting off thing would probably have to be scrapped/re-thought out, but otherwise it's a nicely thought out suggestion that seems like it could be fun.
  22. @biostem also ran into this issue: Hopefully if any others are having this issue they report it to so it can be looked into.
  23. But it's a customization you're forcing on the player, not something they can choose for themselves. For example, if I make my slime powerset pink, Elemental Infusion comes in and overrides my color choice.
  24. Yes, you are correct. As I said in that post, I was reading the person's comment as if they meant for the henchmen to be support henchmen, meaning support majority powers; if this is true, then I would be against this since MM's have an entire support secondary. However, if it is more in line with how henchmen currently are in terms of having support powers, then that's fine and it's my bad for misreading the comment.
  25. Hm, fair point. I was thinking of the bots' and demons shields, but I did forget that the T2 demons throw out a heal and I think one or two of the other powersets can do that as well. I think I was reading their suggestion as the angel henchmen being support focused. Like yeah, the bots and demons do those things, but it's not necessarily their main thing; their main focus is still being there to deal damage/protect the MM. So yeah, one or two minor support powers, sure, but henchmen whose sole focus is support? That's where my opposition lies, otherwise the entire powerset would be nearly useless because our secondary is support. Hopefully that makes it more clear.
